Researchers from UC Berkeley and the Allen Institute used electrodes and lasers to study how mouse brains process optical illusions like the Kanizsa triangle. They discovered specialized IC encoder neurons in the visual cortex that fill in missing information, creating complete shapes from partial cues. When these pattern-completing circuits activate inappropriately, they may trigger hallucinations in conditions like schizophrenia. Dr. Dawn explains that illusions occur when the brain perceives something different from actual visual input, while hallucinations create perceptions with no external stimulus. She discusses frontotemporal dementia where visual hallucinations result from protein deposits in the occipital cortex, and notes that a 2021 British Journal of Psychiatry study found hallucination rates varying from 7% in young people to 3% in those over 70. Dr Peter McCullough returns to The Jeff Dornik Show with an update on what we've learned recently about the covid jabs. If you volunteered or were vaccinated at one of these sites, you may have witnessed how huge, sophisticated and well run these sites were. But how did they do that? How (and who) planned, organized, stood up and ran these massive sites vaccinating thousands of people a day - at a time when you couldn't even hardly hold an in-person meeting?  Kim volunteered at one of these early sites at a football stadium parking lot with dozens of lanes of people getting vaccinated, thousands and thousands a day. Since then, we've been trying to find someone to come on the show and talk about how these were organized so well, so quickly. And he had no luck doing so - until now!  Our guest, Aaron Bellinger, was project manager for one of these emergency Covid vaccination sites and walks us through how the whole process went down, from conception to execution, operation and tear-down. It's an impressive, once-in-a-lifetime project that affected the lives of thousands.    OUR AMAZING GUEST: Aaron Bellinger, PMP Aaron Bellinger was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ where he lives with his beautiful wife Tanya and their sweet dog Ollie. Hour 1: Gio is on vacation this week so it's Boomer & Jerry. They started with the Yankees 1-0 win over the Royals thanks to an Aaron Judge walk off HR. Boomer says Brian Cashman needs to make a move because winning the World Series is the only goal now. Boomer says they need Juan Soto and Jerry insists that's not happening. They also talk about Jerry's tooth falling out. It was actually a temporary cap. With Jerry filling in for Gio this week, C-Lo has the updates and starts with Aaron Judge hitting a walk off HR to beat the Royals 1-0. The Yankees had no other offense other than that HR. Andrew Benintendi played his first game for the Yankees last night. Trey Mancini hit an inside the park HR after it hit the outfielder in his face. Kyler Murray held a press conference to say it's disrespectful to think he doesn't prepare for games. After that, the Cardinals removed the homework clause. In the final segment of the hour, a caller says bars never play Yankees games when they are on Amazon or Apple. There are still rumors out there that Ohtani is on the trading block. The Houston Astros are very interested in Josh Bell.  Hour 2: The 7am hour starts with talk of Daniel Jones and the Giants. If things don't go well, would Kyler Murray be a fit here? A caller says Kyler Murray's teammates don't even help pick him up after he gets hit. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the Yankees beating the Royals on a walk off Aaron Judge HR. Andrew Benintendi played last night for the Yankees but didn't do anything. But he will end up shifting Judge to right field. In the final segment of the hour, we talk about Boomer's upcoming trip to Nova Scotia to play golf.  Hour 3: The 8am hour opens with the Yankees win against the Royals last night. Even though they won, Boomer did not like the malaise he watched. Jerry says Saquon Barkley is going to have a huge season for the Giants. C-Lo returns for another update and starts with the Yankees beating the Royals on a walk off Judge HR, 1-0. Shohei Ohtani is supposedly on the trading block. In the final segment of the hour, we wonder what Ohtani would get on the open market considering he's a dominating hitter and a dominating pitcher. A caller says Benintendi is a cry baby and not fit for NY.  Hour 4: The 9am hour starts with talk of a potential Deshaun Watson suspension coming down today. Makes sense for them to do it on a Friday. C-Lo returns for an update and Boomer says there's a weight clause in Zion Williamson's new contract. The Yankees beat the Royals 1-0 on an Aaron Judge walk off. They only had one hit before that. Benintendi says he's open to the Covid vaccine but nobody has talked to him about it yet. In the final segment of the week, a couple of callers and Jerry simply wants to talk about pizza.

When friends and family got sick last year, people across Ghana scrambled to get shots. But there weren't enough. Now, many say they don't want the jab. Local volunteers are struggling to change their minds. Erin Banco reports.
