Dangerous Ground: My Friendship with a Serial Killer M. William PhelpsAnyone can become a killer under the right circumstances—even you.”For the first time, award-winning investigative journalist M. William Phelps reveals the identity of “Raven,” the serial killer who co-starred with him on Dark Minds—and tells the story of his intriguing bond with one of America's most disturbing killers. In September 2011, M. William Phelps made a bold decision that would change the landscape of reality-based television—and his own life. He asked a convicted serial killer to act as a consultant for his TV series. Under the code name “Raven,” the murderer shared his insights into the minds of other killers and helped analyze their crimes. As the series became an international sensation, Raven became Phelps's unlikely confidante, ally—and friend.“I'm not making excuses for the eight murders I committed.”In this deeply personal account, Phelps traces his own family's dark history, and takes us into the heart and soul of a serial murderer. He also chronicles the complex relationship he developed with Raven. From questions about morality to Raven's thoughts on the still-unsolved, brutal murder of Phelps's sister-in-law, the author found himself grappling with an unwanted, unexpected, unsettling connection with a cold-blooded killer.“It made me feel warm inside to know that I was responsible for that pain . . .”Drawing on over 7,000 pages of letters, dozens of hours of recorded conversations, personal and Skype visits, and a friendship five years in the making, Phelps sheds new light on Raven's bloody history, including details of an unknown victim, the location of a still-buried body—and a jaw-dropping admission. Eye-opening and provocative, Dangerous Ground is an unforgettable journey into the mind of a charming, manipulative psychopath that few would dare to know—and the determined journalist who did just that.4 years ago #a, #dangerous, #ed, #friendship, #ground:, #killer, #m., #my, #opperman, #phelps, #report, #serial, #william, #withhttps://amzn.to/3U9x2AA
Paul explains the Christian faith by pointing out our sin and God's wrath, not your typical pitch for someone trying to make a sale! Thankfully, Paul isn't trying to make a sale; he's playing for keeps and knows there's only one right way to do that: “tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” With much restraint, Paul gives a summary of how wrong things have gone with humans and how God has responded as a horrified parent. How are you supposed to respond when someone you love tells you to drop dead?

Wicked, evil, and darkness is developed out of negative mindsets. If you don't know yourself then you're not in tune with your body, mind, or soul. Many people are literally the walking dead, no souls, becaue they've given in to wickedness, evil, and ultimately the darkness. This almost always eventually lead to the unthinkable. If you entertain darkness it can consume you!

The I-70 killer is an unidentified American serial killer who is known to have killed six store clerks in the Midwest in the spring of 1992. His nickname derives from the fact that several of the stores in which his victims worked were located a few miles off of Interstate 70 (I-70). His victims were usually young, petite, brunette women. One of the victims was a man, but it is believed that the killer may have expected a woman in the store due to the store having a woman's name. All of the stores attacked were specialty stores and were usually only robbed of small amounts of cash.[1] He is also suspected of shooting three more store clerks in Texas during 1993 and 1994, one of whom survived, as well as a 2001 murder of a store clerk in Terre Haute, Indiana. Despite the case being featured on Unsolved Mysteries, America's Most Wanted, and Dark Minds, the killer is yet to be identified and investigators have not publicly identified any suspects.

Today's guest is award-winning investigative journalist and best-selling author, M. William Phelps. Inspired by his personal connection to true crime, Phelps has produced and appeared in many true crime TV shows, including “Dark Minds” and “To Catch a Killer,” and consulted on the popular Showtime show, “Dexter.” This year, Phelps launched his podcast, “Crossing the Line” with iHeartRadio, where he covers cases that are rarely discussed in popular media, with a special focus on victims and their families. Bob and Phelps discuss how they handle bad reviews, interviewing serial killers, and disparities in true crime coverage in the media. They also discuss the murder of Patricia, AKA “Patti,” Luce. In 1978, 18-year-old Patti went missing from a 7-Eleven in Connecticut. Less than a year later, her skeletal remains were located in some woods outside of Hartford, about 15 miles from her home. The investigation quickly went cold but testing of evidence in 1997 has led some to believe Patti's case may be connected to several other murders in the area. The galaxy is a vast place with billions of potential new worlds for humanity to colonize, but interstellar space is so enormous that reaching even the nearest stars and planets by spaceship would take decades at best, and maybe many centuries. Even on arrival terraforming those barren planets would take just as long. Two options for overcoming the immensity of space and time are the Seed Ship and the Data Ship, automated vessels able to colonize the worlds for us. Returning for another chilling season, Investigation Discovery’s DARK MINDS transports the most dangerous of all criminals right into your own home. In the series, returning on February 27, non-fiction crime author M. William Phelps ( his latest is The Kiss of the She-Devil) and criminal profiler John Kelly revisit unsolved homicides believed to be the work of serial killers. The twist? They have an insider that intimately understands the disturbed mind of a murderer – because he is one, currently serving multiple life sentences in a maximum security prison. With a new voice on the other end of the line this season, known only to audiences as “Raven,” this unique source offers his “expert” opinion to profile the killers whose victims deserve justice and whose families deserve answers.
