The very successful Canon ‘World Unseen' exhibition which showcases a series of photographs taken by world-renowned photographers accompanied by elevated prints, audio descriptions, soundscapes and braille that launched at Somerset House in London in April 2024 is now out on tour. Canon worked closely with the RNIB on the launch of the exhibition at Somerset House and now ‘World Unseen' is on display at the Iziko National Museum in Cape Town South Africa.  RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey was joined by David Preston from Canon South Africa and the British High Commissioner to South Africa, Antony Phillipson to find out more about bringing ‘World Unseen' to South Africa and how the exhibition is helping to show how art and photography can be made accessible for blind and partially sighted people as well as the exhibition changing peoples perceptions around sight loss too. Author David L. Preston discusses his debut novel "Unknown Soldier: World War 1". Published by Azalea City Publishing LLC in June 2024, this historical fiction book that follows the story of James Reynolds, a young man from Thomasville, Alabama, who embarks on a journey of adventure and ends up fighting in the trenches of World War I as part of the Alabama 167th National Guard unit.

Ever wondered what the lives of the unidentified soldiers buried at the Tomb of the Unknown in Arlington National Cemetery were like? In 1917, the United States entered World War. I, the war to end all wars. One of the most famous American divisions in the war was the 42nd Rainbow Division. An integral part of that division was the 167th Alabama. This story follows what could have been the experiences and lives of those men that fought galliantly and bravely in some of the fiercest fighting along the Western Front. This coming of age story follows a young man from a small Southwest Alabama town that goes out into the world to find adventure and finds himself and his friends in the middle of the fighting.

For those of us without a natural artistic gene, designing our brand from scratch can feel incredibly daunting. Even professional designers work tirelessly to perfect a brand's launch or relaunch. Luckily, designers say it's not worth overthinking the details, especially at the start. T.J. Bryan is the phenomenal 76-year-old marathoner.T. J. Bryan is a member of a small group of women over 75 years of age who run in marathons. She began running at age 64 and has experienced success at a range of distances. From 2009 to 2019, T. J. completed 53 races, including ten marathons. In eight of these 26.2-mile races, she ran fast enough to qualify for the Boston Marathon. She has run in the Boston Marathon three times. She has registered for the Boston Marathon five times, and each time her registration has been accepted. T. J. belongs to two Maryland running groups—the Baltimore Pacemakers and the Baltimore Road Runners Club. T. J. also belongs to a number of online running groups: Black Runners Connection, Forever Runners over 50, Marathon Runners, National Black Marathoners Association, Runners over 50, Running after 60, and Runners 70 and over. After earning bachelor's and master's degrees in English from Morgan State University and a doctoral degree in English language and literature from the University of Maryland at College Park, T. J. became a professor, academic administrator, and university chancellor, respectively. During her professional career, she published articles on women writers and on a range of higher-education topics. She lives in Pennsylvania and runs both in her state of residence and in Maryland.
