Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. Disney World announced that Cosmic Rewind and Tiana's will be dropping their virtual queue this week, which may or may not be a ploy to get more people to buy Lightning Lanes. Plus we finally have a replacement for the defunct NBA Experience at Disney Springs and it's very similar to the previous tenant, Disney Quest. Coincidence? You be the judge. Have you ever seen a group of people in the parks with a Plaid and thought “are they a celebrity?” If you're like us, then the answer is a definite Yes. But the answer 99% of the time is that they are just a group on a VIP Tour. VIP Tours are one of the most unique (and expensive) tours Disney offers and allows up to 10 people to do whatever they want across all of the parks for the day. We were lucky enough to be able to join some friends on their VIP Tour, so now we're giving a full recap from the highlights to the things we'd do differently. So join us as we recap one of the most fun (and expensive) days we've had at Disney World. Submit a question/topic for us to discuss on a future episode. In the 222nd episode of The Main Street Electrical Podcast, Jenn & Dave are joined again by fan favorite Kyla, as they get their Taylor Swift on and address Disney's "Blank Spaces". First up, Jenn uncovered a treasure trove of Disney swag in her closets, while Dave is chasing some movie goals and catching up on some Disney films on his to-be-watched list. Then, the trio chats about the RUMOR (only just RUMOR) that Universal may get rid of their Marvel rights, and what Disney might do with it were they to get it. RUMOR!! Finally, Dave, Jenn, & Kyla look around the WDW Resort and address four glaringly empty (or may become empty) spots -- the old DisneyQuest building, Epcot's Wonders of Life pavilion, Hollywood Studios' Launch Bay, and the empty round theater of Stitch's Great Escape and Alien Encounter -- and do a little Blue Sky dreaming about what might go in each of those. From character meet n greet spots to Disney history walkthroughs to shows to theater shows and much more, as we let the creative juices flow. Thanks for listening!!!

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. Today's episode is brought to you by The Cheesecake Factory. Okay, not really. We aren't getting those kinds of bucks from this pod, but when you listen, you'll get the age-old question, how did The Cheesecake Factory make us talk about DisneyQuest this week? If that isn't enough to draw you in, you can learn all about this sort-of failed Disney concept that lasted a respectable 20 years when our beloved Starcruiser didn't even last 2! As always, thank you so much for listening! Have a magical week! Submit a question/topic for us to discuss on a future episode. Theme restaurants. Big-box retail. Grandiose indoor urban entertainment centers. These were catchy commercial real estate trends of the mid- to late-1990s, and The Walt Disney Company wanted in. Philadelphia, meanwhile, was on the cusp of a major economic renaissance following years of financial woes. Ed Rendell, then the city's mayor, ushered in this turnaround, and he wanted Disney. What did the city and Disney see in each other? And why, less than two years after forming their partnership, was Philadelphia left with a big hole in the ground? The Jawncast's Brian Seltzer explores the legend of DisneyQuest Philadelphia and the DisneyQuest Hole. Follow The Jawncast on Twitter.
Danny explains why he is cursed and how his experience at The Cheesecake Factory took him all the way to Disney World to open up a new concept.

After graduating from the Information Networking Institute at CMU in 1994 with a Masters of Science in Computer Networking and Virtual Reality, Jesse Schell went on to work for Bell Labs. In 1995 he joined Walt Disney Imagineering, where he worked for seven years in capacity of programmer, manager, designer and Creative Director on several projects. These included rides for theme parks, DisneyQuest, and Toontown Online, a massively multiplayer online game. During his time at Disney, he met Carnegie Mellon professor Randy Pausch, who was taking a sabbatical in the lab where Jesse worked. When Randy founded the Entertainment Technology Center at CMU, he invited Jesse to become a faculty member. Jesse joined the faculty in 2002. In 2002, Jesse founded Schell Games, a full-service game design and development company with a focus on creating both educational and entertainment games on all platforms for players of all ages. The company is based in Pittsburgh, PA and employs more than 100 people. Currently Jesse serves as CEO. At Tech 50 in 2016, Jesse was awarded CEO of the year, and the year prior, Jesse was named one of Pittsburgh's 50 most powerful people.

Before Disney Springs, there was Downtown Disney. This week on Distant Disney, we're profiling one of the wildest ventures Disney has embarked upon (no, we don't mean the sort of wildest ride in the wilderness you might find in Frontierland). We'll be talking about the village's original purpose, its transformation to a legendary club district, and eventual loss of popularity. Here's the link for the video of The Adventure Club's Colonel Sunchbench we're laughing about.Music by Colin Paul
In episode 61, we discuss exactly what Disney Quest was, why we think it failed and how we believe it could have survived or could survive today. John goes into each floor and what it offered, as well as other prospective locations that failed too. Kathy is back with the news and there is a lot of it!
