Today, I'm sharing my insights on how I've successfully integrated a 4 day work week model into my own business through a mastermind framework. Strategies for a Successful Four-Day Work WeekLet's talk strategy. Moving to a 4 day work week wasn't about doing less; it was about doing things more efficiently. I've adopted several strategies that keep me laser-focused and ensure that my productivity remains high:1. Prioritising What Matters: My time has become incredibly precious, especially with my daughter involved. I'm extremely discerning about how I spend each moment. If something doesn't feel worth missing time with Sunny, it doesn't make the cut.2. Embracing Deep Work: Tools like the Opal app have been game-changers. By blocking social media during evenings and mornings, I've carved out space for deep, uninterrupted work. This focus not only improves productivity but also the quality of work I produce.3. Communication and Boundaries: Clear communication with my team is vital. Everyone knows I don't work Fridays, so tasks need to be completed by Thursday afternoon. This clarity ensures that my workweek flows smoothly and that my team can function effectively without my constant availability.Balancing Work and Personal LifeThe beauty of running a mastermind model is its flexibility. Even within my structured workdays, I still find time to show up for my clients, attend to essential tasks and focus on my family. Life calls for us to wear many hats, whether it's being a parent, a business owner, or a friend. For my lean business model, having one key person I can trust to manage the backend is crucial. I talk about who and what I've set up to support my business manager, and explain the different approach I took in hiring a new team member to support our upcoming season. I also discuss the importance of clear communication and expectations, ensuring the team knows their priorities during my absence.System SetupIf you are preparing your business so it can run without you, you need to have great systems in place. This includes a clear handover and processes for everyone to be able to succeed. For my business, we use a lot of automation with different project management and scheduling tools. This means things like emails going out automatically and payments being followed up on. So, what can you automate in your business? How can you make it really simple? Once you've figured out what to automate, pop that into an automation in your project management software and rinse and repeat again and again. This will give you so much peace of mind and support your team to thrive in their roles while you're away.Cashflow ManagementOne of the most critical aspects of preparing your business for your absence is cashflow management. Knowing your revenue streams and understanding your financials allows you to maintain business operations fluidly. I planned for cashflow management long before my maternity leave, ensuring that even with reduced revenue, the business can support its team and operations. By focusing on forecasting and front-loading revenues, we avoided the necessity of drastic changes during my absence. If you're planning an extended leave or just want your business to function smoothly without your constant oversight, this episode is for you. Today, I'm bringing you this episode from the launch of The Mastermind Model! It's perfect timing, as I've been having so many conversations with my community on the different beliefs around masterminds. You may have been told certain things about masterminds or heard them online, and unfortunately a lot of ideas that get around aren't necessarily true. So, today I'm going to debunk some common myths surrounding masterminds. Myth #1: A Mastermind is All About the Peer Experience with No Curriculum or LearningContrary to popular belief, a best practice mastermind incorporates both a peer experience and a curriculum or learning component. We'll explore why relying solely on the peer experience is risky, and why they make our clients' ROI's hard to track. I also talk through just how crucial it is to be crystal clear about your ideal clients' outcome and offer a hybrid experience, where your role is as facilitator AND coach or mentor. Myth #2: A Mastermind Can Only Be Business-to-Business (B2B)While there is a blurred line between what constitutes a mastermind and a group program, it is possible to have a business-to-consumer (B2C) mastermind. The key distinction lies in the focus and structure of the program. I talk through the differences between the two, and explain how to define your program to align with the expectations of your target audience.Myth #3: A Mastermind Can't Provide the Same Level of Service or Results as One-to-One CoachingI truly used to believe that one of the reasons I couldn't transition from one-to-one to a mastermind was that I couldn't possibly help my clients get as good results. However, I quickly found that to be completely untrue. Not only did the mastermind actually reduce the amount of time I spent providing information to clients, I actually saw my clients achieve better results than in the one-to-one coaching setting. I give you the insights on how you can reach more people without spending more time or sacrificing the quality of your service through masterminds. Myth #4: Holding Space for More People in a Mastermind Means More WorkNow, I have a real-life example for you to debunk this prevalent myth. While brainstorming with my husband on ideas for this episode, he immediately said, “People need to know that you can work with more people, but it's less work.” How was he so sure of this? Well, he saw it happen for me! When you have this container that is set for scale, you have the opportunity to utilise the power of the group and the systems that you create - something we teach you all about throughout The Mastermind Model.Myth #5: It's Hard to Sell a Mastermind in 2024Given the current economic and market conditions, so many people believe that selling a mastermind in 2024 is challenging. While it's true that the landscape is evolving, it is still possible to sell and thrive with a mastermind. The key lies in having an exceptional offer that addresses your ideal clients' specific challenges and desires. “Is a mastermind right for my business?” Today's episode is inspired by the fact that this is a question I get asked a lot by my clients. They're often unsure as to whether this model will work for them if they're not fully booked yet, don't have a big list or aren't participating in a mastermind themselves.In my opinion, you don't need to wait for any of these factors before you start. You may have heard me say before that when I started my mastermind, I had never seen or experienced one that I wanted to be in personally. So I went ahead and created the experience that I had been searching for, for other people. In this episode, I'm taking you through 5 specific ways to know whether a mastermind is right for your business. It doesn't need to be that you tick all of them off, but if you resonate with any of these 5, you're going to recognise whether a mastermind is for you or not.1. You Work One-on-One with Clients and Have a Proven MethodologyIf you are currently working one-on-one with clients and have a proven methodology or process, a mastermind could be a great addition to your business. Instead of repeating the same information on individual calls, you can teach it once to the entire group, allowing them to learn from each other's experiences. 2. You Have Enough Community to Convert into a MastermindDespite what you might think, you don't need a large email list or to be fully booked with one-on-one clients to start a mastermind. I personally had less than 1,000 people on my email list when I ran my first mastermind, with 20 sign-ups. It's launch season again! If you're like 99% of my clients, you're likely in the thick of a launch or or a scale in some way right now. We tend to find that February to May is a busy season in business each year, and so I wanted to address something that every business owner should know more about: making abundant decisions when business isn't going so well.Every entrepreneur faces challenging seasons at some stage in business. There are failed launches, low sales and generally just difficult moments in their business journey. And while it's easy to sink down into the fear, I believe experiencing so-called failures is often the thing that propels you forward most in your business so you can course-correct to your biggest months, growth and biggest scale.Today, I share with you the step-by-step process I use to help navigate these situations and make decisions that support growth, abundance and long-term success. Sitting in the ShitGive yourself the space to sit in the negative feelings for a moment. It's okay to acknowledge and feel the disappointment, frustration or fear that comes with a challenging situation. Toxic positivity would tell us to override those emotions in our body, however that doesn't help us move forward. We need to embrace and process our feelings to make room for growth and abundance.Coming back to GratitudeOnce we've sat with our emotions, it's time to recalibrate back to the frequency of gratitude. Gratitude is the highest frequency we can be in when it comes to decision making and creating abundance. By shifting our focus to gratitude, we tap into our power and gain a fresh perspective that supports making decisions from a place of abundance.Recommit to Your GoalsIt's now time to re-anchor ourselves to our goals. Sometimes, a disappointing situation can make us doubt our capabilities or question the viability of our goals. But by staying focused on our goals and recommitting to them, we reaffirm that we're still in the game. We must remind ourselves of our power and take the necessary steps to show up for what we want to achieve.Taking Aligned ActionFinally, we need to take action based on our goals and the frequency we've recalibrated to, rather than being driven by the negative stories we tell ourselves. Making decisions rooted in scarcity or protection only hinders our growth and expansion. And as I've been getting so many questions about my birth plan and my approach to maternity leave, I recently took to Instagram to do a Q&A. Today, I'm answering the questions I received to give you a behind-the-scenes of my plans, and to help you feel empowered to navigate your season of life on your own terms. The questions I'm addressing include: Q: What are you manifesting for your birth? While I have preferences for birth and have made very considered decisions around it, I also have a mindset of co-creation and trust in the universe. I take you through the medical team I've chosen, my thoughts on being flexible and why I'm going private.Q: Do you wish you could just surrender into motherhood and not work?Though it appears simple, this question is actually somewhat complex. Every person is unique, and there is no one right way to approach motherhood. For me, what I believe will enhance my ability to be present and provide support to my child will be different for someone else. I discuss my intentions for motherhood and work and how it aligns with who I am as an individual. Q: What are your plans for maternity leave and for the business? I've definitely made plans for the length of my maternity leave and how the business will run after baby's arrival, which I share all about with you. I talk about how I imagine I'll use my personal time and the projects I may feel inspired to work on, while acknowledging that as someone who is not yet a mother, I cannot precisely predict how I'm going to feel from one day to the next! Q: Will it be harder to work with you once you have a baby?Over the last couple of years, I've been intentional about structuring the business so that the model won't change when I step into motherhood. At the start of the year, I knew it was time to create a program centred around running a mastermind. The feedback and results from this program have been truly phenomenal, and I couldn't be prouder of the content and the calibre of clients it has attracted. Incredibly, the business has also achieved its best revenue year yet. It's an amazing feeling to see the business continue to grow and generate more income while consciously scaling down. We made intentional decisions to focus on what truly mattered, and the results speak for themselves.Client results have always been a top priority for us, and 2023 was no exception. As a coach, there's nothing more fulfilling than witnessing the growth and success of those I work with. The confidence and clarity I've gained over the years have allowed me to provide exceptional guidance and recommendations, making it a truly joyful experience.While 2023 brought many successes, it also presented its fair share of challenges. Balancing personal struggles with the demands of a business is hard, but I'm proud of how I've shown up and persevered. As we approach the end of the year, it's a perfect time to reflect, strategise and set the stage for a successful year ahead. Today, I want to share five unique questions I've been personally simmering on as I consider the year that's been, and map out 2024 in my business. Question #1: Which trends will I leverage and which will I not buy into? In the past, I've fallen into the trap of wanting to jump on every exciting trend in my business. However, I've learned that simplicity often leads to success. Instead of spreading myself too thin, I ask myself which trends I plan to leverage and which ones I'll skip.Question #2: What excites me for 2024?As a manifesting generator, I know I have to lead with what feels exciting and enjoyable. And when something gets me going, it's a sure sign that it's truly in alignment for me. I'm currently asking myself how I can incorporate new and exciting things for my clients, such as upgrades or additions to existing programs.Question #3: How can I shorten the buying cycle?While I thankfully haven't had issues with clients' purchasing decisions this year, I'm looking ahead to preempt it occurring in the coming year. While this year's trends show that the buying cycle has been lengthened, I want to ensure I keep it as short as possible. I talk through some strategies I'm playing with to achieve this goal. Question #4: What conversations do I want to lead in 2024? Thought leadership and storytelling are becoming increasingly essential in a world where AI is becoming so widespread. As AI continues to evolve, our humanity and unique perspectives will be what set us apart. I'm pondering what conversations I want to spearhead, and encourage you to also lean into what will differentiate you. Question #5: How will I incorporate AI into my business? I think next year, we're going to see AI on steroids! It offers such exciting opportunities for productivity and efficiency, and I'm very keen to explore its potential. I know that I have a lot of learning to do, and so I'm open to experimenting and testing AI in various aspects of our operations. While I don't have all the answers to these questions yet, I hope they spark your thinking around planning for the new year. I'm sure you've heard plenty of stories about less-than-desirable mastermind experiences. Unfortunately, these poorly delivered masterminds have given our industry a bad rap, and while I'm not one to gossip, I've got a personal story to share that I believe holds some crucial lessons. In this episode, I'm talking about the time I signed up to a terrible mastermind and share with you the valuable lessons I learnt from the experience.Around two years ago, I decided to join a mastermind that turned out to be the worst financial investment I've ever made - and somehow also NOT the worst. While I had been running my own masterminds for a couple of years, I decided to join another program to gain a fresh perspective and continue improving my own offerings. And boy, did I learn a thing or two!From basically being ghosted by the person running the mastermind to being incorrectly charged hundreds of dollars, this mastermind came with a significant number of red flags. The overall lack of engagement and support left me feeling invisible and disheartened. I weighed up whether or not to request a refund, but eventually decided to stick with it. And I can honestly say I'm glad I did. My experience in this mastermind was far from ideal, but it had a silver lining. It reinforced my belief in the importance of delivering exceptional value and support to my own mastermind participants. It also drove home the significance of effective communication and genuine care for clients. After a truly disappointing experience, I was proud of the systems and processes in my own mastermind model and became even more confident in what I had to offer to my valued clients. As a business owner and coach, there is a lot of problem-solving to be done throughout my work day. Whether it's helping my clients navigate unexpected situations in their business or maintaining the wellbeing of my own team, I'm generally offering a lot of support. So today I wanted to share the three very specific mindsets I swear by as I move through my day with confidence and success as a CEO. When it comes to facing unplanned challenges or navigating tricky situations, it's natural for us to operate out of reactivity. We tend to catastrophise things, which can cause negative energy to transfer to our clients or team and cause unnecessary stress. I take you through each of the three mindsets I've adopted to help minimise panic and stress, to maintain health within my business and to operate as the best possible version of myself as a leader:Neutrality: This mindset revolves around the idea that nothing is ever a problem, and there's nothing that can't be fixed. Instead of becoming reactive when faced with challenges, neutrality allows me to approach them as opportunities to find solutions. This allows me to slow down, stay calm, prioritise and make rational decisions in an objective manner. When we stay neutral, it not only benefits our own nervous system, but creates a ripple effect on those in our proximity. Simplicity: Now, I'll admit that I'm definitely not a natural when it comes to keeping things simple. However, it's a mindset I've cultivated over time, and simplifying my business model and strategies has been an absolute game-changer. By focusing on clear goals, eliminating distractions and streamlining processes, we create more opportunity to scale, to see revenue to grow and enhance our clients' experience with us. Self-Responsibility: I firmly believe that as a CEO, I'm responsible for everything that happens within my company. This mindset extends to all my actions and decisions, and while it sounds like this might add a whole lot of pressure, it in fact does quite the opposite. By knowing what I AM responsible for, I've become aware of what I am NOT. This means taking on less of my clients' issues, their decisions, and even the responsibilities of my own team members. Not only does this release me from taking on board others' stress, it empowers my team and clients to take ownership of their own actions. In this episode, I'm making a big announcement that holds mixed feelings for me. While I'm confident in the decision I've made for my business, it's one that is bittersweet and may come as a surprise. Today I'm sharing why I've decided to close one of my masterminds for the foreseeable future. This decision definitely wasn't planned for this year, and while it felt like a big (and not to mention crazy) move, I knew as soon as the idea crossed my mind that there was no turning back. I've always been incredibly decisive and known to follow my intuition, and it was no different this time around. I share my reasoning behind closing down this specific mastermind, which centres around creating space to expand my teaching within the business. I also talk about how reducing the number of masterminds I oversee allows me to engage more deeply with each coaching client. Making this decision wasn't easy, and there were of course a few tears when it came to first saying it out loud. This is especially true for those of us with priorities like parenting and attempting a healthy work-life balance. I run through the longer launch period that I personally opt for and how it gives me more time to connect with my audience, provide value and make sales without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.In addition to the longer launch period, I also follow a three-phased approach to selling my programs, and break it down to explain how I:Pre-sell outside of cart open periodsSell to existing clients prior to the publicSell to new clients through the official cart open periodWe're living in a time of uncertainty, and people tend to need more time to make purchasing decisions.
