We had a great conversation with Actress Colleen Foy on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about so many things from family, acting, sacrifices, she told some amazing stories especially about her first moving to LA. This episode got a little emotional and you will see. Colleen was amazing!Actress Colleen Foy is featured opposite Ana de Armas, Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody and Julianne Nicholson in the Netflix, 2022 feature film Blonde, writer/director Andrew Dominik's fictionalized chronicle of the life of Marilyn Monroe. In this eagerly awaited film, produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment, she plays a psychiatric nurse who takes care of Marilyn's mother. Colleen is perhaps best known for her multi-season arc as Inara, on the Shondaland / ABC series Station 19, who survived a violent marriage and began a relationship with the firefighter who rescued her. Colleen grew up in a family of social workers in Milwaukee and loved hearing stories about her paternal great grandparents, who were touring vaudevillians. She graduated from Dominican High School, where she performed in every play and musical the school produced. Her personal highlight was the female lead in a production of The Little Shop of Horrors. She earned her degree in Theatre Studies at Marquette University, in her hometown. A seminal moment for Colleen occurred at Marquette when a friend – the first Deaf student at the university – wrote Quid Pro Quo, a play that is totally performed in American Sign Language and voiced by off-stage actors. The show won the prestigious American College Theatre festival and Colleen performed it at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Newly proficient in ASL, Colleen's first professional acting job post-college was a year long tour with the National Theatre of the Deaf. The only hearing actor in the company, Colleen played Alice in their adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. Their performance caught the attention of the producers of Sesame Street, who hired Colleen and her castmates to film multiple segments teaching the “Sign Language Word of the Day” for their huge national audience. Within the first year of moving to Los Angeles, Colleen made her feature film debut in director Paul Thomas Anderson's acclaimed drama There Will Be Blood, in which she played the adult Mary Sunday opposite Daniel Day Lewis's Daniel Plainview character. In television animation, Colleen co-starred in the Ever After High series, playing Holly O'Hair, the daughter of Rapunzel. Additional television series credits include 9-1-1: Lonestar, Bones, Castle, Franklin & Bash, Code Black, Cold Case, The Client List, Criminal Minds, Tacoma FD, and she has recurred on The Bold and the Beautiful, Sundance's This Close, and CBS All Access' Strange Angel.
Colleen Foy has a unique origin story that truly shows how dreams can come true. We will see how her career started from its early days to her first major feature film, There Will Be Blood. We will talk about Ever After High where Colleen voiced Holly O'Hair from the ever popular Netflix show. Then we talk about a new feature film coming out from Netflix in 2022 called, Blonde. This film is produced by Brad Pitts production company Plan B Entertainment. The cast of this movie is filled with Stars and Colleen Foy is one of those Stars who continues to shine brighter than ever. I hope you enjoy todays episode. Blockchain and games is a topic that I have come across many times in the last years. Many people talk about it and it is said, it is a game-changer. In this episode I wanted to learn more how blockchain can work for game developers. A company that is quite often in the news, when it is about blockchain and games is Animoca Brands. So who better could I talk to then the CEO himself; Robby Yung. Robby started several businesses in China and Hong Kong, including those in mobile telecoms and software applications, cable television, internet services, outdoor advertising, and publishing. He has raised many rounds of private and institutional venture capital for these businesses as well as done four IPO's, several trade sales, follow on financings, and lots of M&A. I would say he is super experienced. What is Animoca Brands? Animoca Brands leverages gamification, blockchain, and artificial intelligence technologies to develop and publish a broad portfolio of mobile products including games such as The Sandbox, Crazy Kings, and Crazy Defense Heroes as well as products based on popular intellectual properties such as Formula 1, Garfield, Snoopy, Thomas & Friends, Ever After High and Doraemon. Animoca Brands’ portfolio of blockchain investments and partnerships includes Lucid Sight, Dapper Labs (creators of CryptoKitties), WAX, Harmony, and Decentraland. The Company is based in Hong Kong, Canada, Finland, and Argentina. Blockchain-enabled games Animoca Brands develops blockchain-enabled games, which facilitates a genuine form of digital ownership of in-game content and collectables in its games. The digitised approach allows players to maintain ownership features across games and platforms, compared to the traditional game industry, where content is owned by the developer/publisher and rented by the player. The mission of Animoca; They leverage their unique capabilities to develop compelling consumer applications with focus on: Motivation Ensuring applications are fun and engaging: Games, Gamification Technology Foundational: Mobile, Blockchain and AI Innovation Staying ahead of the curve by strategic and technological means It was a very learningful interview for myself and I do hope for my listeners too. The interview is done in two parts, since it was quite long. two times 25 minutes. So Episode 38, which will be released next week, will have part two!

Writer/director Maggie Levin’s My Valentine is the latest installment in the Blumhouse Into the Dark series for streaming service, Hulu. Influenced by some of the biggest pop scandals over the past decade, My Valentine follows Valentine, whose songs and artistic identity have been stolen by her ex-boyfriend/manager - and shamelessly pasted onto his new girlfriend/protégé, Trezzure. Pop songs play a huge part in the film, and they were all composed and performed by Dresage, also known as Keeley Bumford, who -- along with her musical partner, Mark Hadley -- additionally performed the score for Levin's movie. We spoke with Bumford the day My Valentine dropped on Hulu about the film, as well as her work for other programs such as Ever After High and Riverdale.

Hello and welcome to twenty-first episode of Fanboy Nation’s Toon-In-Talk, your rendezvous for animation interviews. It’s that time of year for the Ladies of Animation Month, Whitney Grace’s yearly tribute to women who work in the animation industry and mission to inspire girls to pursue their animated ambitions. Whitney is a proud member of the Women in Animation organization and with their helped she rounded up great professional women who have made successful careers in animation. To kick off Ladies in Animation Month, Whitney interviews Marge Dean, co-presdient of Women in Animation, general manager of Stoopid Buddy Stoodies, and former production manager at Mattel’s Playground Productions. Marge discusses her past and present animation career accomplishments and then she explains Women in Animation’s mission. Show Notes Marge Dean has worked in the animation industry for over twenty years and she is currently the general manager of Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. She was the only production manager on the Ren and Stimpy Show to deliver a show on time. Marge worked at Mattel’s Playground Productions for three years and was responsible for Barbie, Monster High, Ever After High, Max Steel, Hot Wheels, and other lines. Whitney admits her guilty pleasure: animated movies based off toy lines. One of the keys to being successful with kid’s content these days is to have an ancillary license, like a toy line. Networks aren’t subsidizing shows anymore. Seth Green, Matthew Seinreich, John Harvatine, and Eric Towner founded Stoopid Buddy Stoodies. As a general manager, Marge will be taking over the front end of running Stoopid Buddy. She will be implementing in procedures to keep the workflow moving and freeing up Seth Green, Matthew Seinreich, John Harvatine, and Eric Towner to work on more creative projects. Marge will also be tracking down more work for Stoopid Buddy Stoodios and Whitney can’t wait to see what the studio will make. One of the biggest challenges Marge has noticed working at several studios is finding talent and with Stoopid Buddy she walked into it. Marge Dean is also one the board of Women In Animation. She shares how when she started in the industry there weren’t a lot of women working in animation and that has grown over the past twenty years. The entire goal of the Women In Animation organization is to empower women to become leaders, have studios rethink hiring practices, and encourage women and anyone to follow their dream for a career in animation. Nowadays people are more sensitive to women’s issues in various industries, not just animation. The newest generation of fathers is very dedicated to helping their daughters succeed in the world. Marge wants Women In Animation to become so obsolete that it dissolves, because she wants women and diversity to become commonplace. Women In Animation’s goal is 50/50 by 2025, meaning the workforce in the animation industry will be equal between men and women. Marge and Whitney both agree that women are an untapped resource. Whitney and Marge bond over their mutual love for chiweenies and The Godfather.

Sem eu perguntar, me explicou o critério dela. “Alguma dúvida?” – perguntei. “Não”. E ficou assim. Ela estava assistindo a um desenho chamado Ever After High.
