"As we head into the final shows of The Poisoned Ascendancy tour, we want to thank everyone who's come out to celebrate with us," the band wrote. "The shows have been phenomenal and we've loved connecting with every single one of you. Being in this band is the most important thing to the four of us. We're incredibly grateful to have been given the chance to look back at a pair of life-changing albums for us & Trivium, who we have nothing but respect and admiration for." After acknowledging the "incredible achievement" of a 20-plus-year career, Bullet for My Valentine said they "can't wait to get back in the studio later this summer and finish what we promise you is our best album to date. To go along with this, we are already starting to make plans for the 2026 & 2027 touring cycles, hitting every corner." They ended their statement with a note of gratitude for their fans plus the promise, "We'll be back with all of you very soon." What Did Trivium Say About Bullet for My Valentine Tour Ending? Earlier this week, Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto blamed Bullet for My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck for the Poisoned Ascendancy tour coming to an apparently premature end. "Matt Tuck didn't want to do it, after we had planned it, after stuff was already in the works — don't know why," Gregoletto said in a livestream. The band later said in a TikTok comment that Tuck was "the sole decision maker of the band and he has no respect for us or our crew." Despite the public drama, Trivium frontman Matt Heafy expressed his joy and gratitude for the tour in his own statement on Tuesday. "I have loved every show, every day, every minute; from the work I did - I have found myself more present and more appreciative than ever," he wrote.” (Loudwire) ___Trivium VS Bullet For My Valentine?! | The Podcast That Rocked

It's rock news this week, as Moose and Dews chat about the potential for Sleep Token to score their first UK #1 album with the recently-released Even In Arcadia. This leads to the question of WTF is actually happening, with their crazy song lyric-capitalisation on Apple Music seemingly pointing to further developments. Will it be a tour announcement, unreleased tracks, or even a second part to the new album? Either way, this will likely be a Music Marketing 101 case study for years to come.  The guys also take a look at the potential fallout between Trivium and Bullet for My Valentine, as well as Dewsbury's entirely reasonable Download 2026 predictions, before taking care of some Primordial business with a merch update. HEAVY Music Interviews
Reaching The Summit With SCOTT KENNEDY From BLEED FROM WITHIN

HEAVY Music Interviews

Interview by Kris PetersTwo decades into any career and you would be forgiven for starting to grow stale or formulaic. Be it an office job, labouring, or even in the music industry, the old saying familiarity breeds contempt holds firm. But try telling that to Scottish metal outfit Bleed From Within who, after 20 years in the music scene, have reached their peak - their Zenith, if you will. The Glasgow firebrands are one of the hardest working acts in metal: playing shows globally with everyone from Megadeth to Slipknot, all while writing and regularly releasing monstrous, exhilarating songs. The upward journey reaches new heights on their seventh album, Zenith, which contains the band's heaviest, catchiest and most intrepid music to date. The band's first two albums, Humanity (2009) and Empire (2010), made Bleed From Within cult figureheads in the deathcore scene, before Uprising (2013) broadened their palate with groove metal adrenaline and melodic death metal prowess. It also marked their major-label debut, catapulting them onto tours with heavy royalty. In 2018, the band returned with the ferocious Era. Then, follow-ups Fracture (2020) and Shrine (2022) proved their greatest triumphs to date, intertwining vocalist Scott Kennedy's snarls with Steven Jones' majestic singing. The millions of streams gathered by such singles as The End of All We Know, Into Nothing and Levitate proved Bleed had become the next big thing. Now, on Zenith – announced ahead of career-affirming tours with Slipknot, Trivium and Bullet for My Valentine – the quintet are primed to leap into superstardom.HEAVY spoke with frontman Scott Kennedy to go deeper into Zenith."It feels like we've been waiting so long to drop this album," he sighed. "So, I'm buzzing for it to finally get out. I think it's the best collection of songs we've ever done and I'm desperate for people to hear it."We ask Kennedy to talk us through what Bleed From Within were going for musically with Zenith."To be honest, with Bleed From Within there's never really any concepts or anything like that," he replied. "It's more just about - for me personally - the songs are always about what I'm going through at that point in my life. I always try to write from the heart and write songs that are really meaningful because I don't want to go on stage and sing a song that doesn't really mean anything to me. I don't just want to go on and sing any old shit to the crowd. With Bleeding From Within it's just always about writing the best collection of metal songs that we possibly can, and I truthfully believe that this is the best collection of metal songs we've ever written."In the full interview, Scott discussed Zenith further, expressing his excitement about what he considers their best work to date. He highlighted the opening track Violent Nature for its heavy and fast nature, and elaborated on the collaborative songwriting process among band members, emphasizing a natural evolution in their music.Scott also mentioned Bleed From Within's experimentation with various musical elements, including strings and guest vocalists, to achieve a distinctive sound. The discussion wrapped up with a mention of upcoming tour plans and festivals following the album's release.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

UK metallers Defects have announced their October - November UK ‘The Bloodline' Tour. The support will come from Profiler and Knife Bride. Tickets are available from here: https://www.wearedefects.com/ The tour will begin on 19 October in Glasgow (Garage Attic) and call through Newcastle (The Cluny), Manchester (Rebellion), Leeds (Key Club), London (O2 Islington Academy 2), Bristol (Exchange). Oxford (Jericho Tavern) and finishes on 7 November in Birmingham (Flapper). Defects released their debut album, ‘Modern Error', in May and have spent the summer with blistering sets on the festival circuit, playing at Download (UK) and Graspop (Belgium) as well as tours with Of Mice and Men and Orbit Culture this year. They have also played with the likes of Bullet for My Valentine, Funeral for a Friend and In Flames. You don't have to always relate to an album's theme or concept to feel what the band is trying to say. Sometimes, the experience shared is so powerful, that it hits hard regardless of a personal connection. There might be no better example of this in the modern times than Defects' long-awaited debut album, Modern Error. A 13-track showcase (including an intro and interlude) of what this band is capable of. Which just so happens to be passionately delivered metal that blends elements of melodic metal, heavy alternative rock, metalcore, groove metal, and more. Where every track has some form of anthemic value regardless of the level of heaviness that comes with it. Read our full review of the album here: https://www.gbhbl.com/album-review-defects-modern-error-mascot-records/ It's spooky season and spooky things are afoot. Interview by Kyra-Jade Coombs**Apologies in advance, the audio gets a little scratchy going in and out of reception**Atreyu, where do I start here? I assume everyone loves them as much as I do, but for those of you who aren't familiar with these legends they've been around fast approaching 30 years and have well and truly carved their spot in the metalcore space. In 2023 alone, they released two Eps and a full-length album, which is where vocalist Brandon Saller and I started the chat. Releasing that much music in a short amount of time appeases the modern consumer who is waiting for the next best thing to grab their attention.I wanted to find out what their album The Beautiful Dark of Life meant to Brandon, and it turned out to be a career-changing album. Not only did it change the way the band writes together, but it changed the way they communicate and share what's going on in their lives. You need to remember that it's only just becoming socially acceptable for men to express their feelings on any level, and I'm grateful to see a band on Atreyu's level leading the way. “We are just people. You guys can do this shit too”. When talking about turning 30 as a band, I wondered what advice Brandon had received or wished he had received. Funnily enough, he replied by saying no one really took them under their wing and had more of a “Na, na fuck you guys” attitude about them. The most important takeaway was to love what you do. When you stop loving what you do, the magic stops. There are so many killer albums from these guys and I needed to know what era Brandon would travel back to experience and all over again. #1 - The Curse (2004). The reason being he wanted to go back to the start to experience that ‘first time feeling' all over again… have a bird's eye view of that era.#2 - Lead Sails Paper Anchor (2007), my personal favourite! This album was polarising in how it was received, “Half of our fans wanted to murder us and half were on board”. It was also a major turning point in Saller's career, feeling he was put on a pedestal for this album and had a big creative reach. In 2008 Atreyu/Avenged Sevenfold/Bullet for My Valentine had a massive Australian tour and by all accounts it was an absolute madhouse. I needed to hear the scoop from the horse's mouth, and all the carnage and mayhem you would imagine going down did exactly that. From Jimmy ‘The Rev' Sullivan singing opera at 7am in the morning to the ‘Terrible Twins' Johnny Christ and Jimmy (Avenged Sevenfold) redecorating hotel rooms, there are some hilarious stories. You will just have to listen for all the details. There is a lot we cover in this interview that any Atreyu fan will enjoy. He was an absolute trooper to talk to. Words from Brandon himself, Australia is their favourite place to tour, so get your asses to one of their shows and make sure they continue to come back for years to come!

This week we're chatting with filmmaker and disco empress Maggie Levin! She's a filmmaker whose debut feature film “My Valentine” was part of Hulu's Into the Dark series. She also served as second unit director and credit designer for Universal's The Black Phone. Her latest work is the segment “Shredding” from V/H/S/99 which is currently on Shudder. We chat about her horror history, growing up in spooky places, a slumber party experience with Scream, her taste in music and the punk rock feel of this year's V/H/S/99 and so much more before we transition to discussing Peter Berg (?!) and his 1998 very dark comedy Very Bad Things. First we were dying to know why this was her Scarred for Life moment and, listeners, this one ranks up with our favorite stories. Then we chat racism, homoeroticism, homosocial behavior, boys behaving badly, and the downward spiral of the characters.SPOILER ALERT FOR V/H/S/99: As we start talking about the practical effects, we do dig into some spoilers for Maggie's section. Get song ideas from the time guests arrive until the last dance of the reception. And now your host, Matt Campbell founder of MyWeddingSongs.com. Welcome to episode number 80 of the Wedding Songs Podcast. I am Matt Campbell and today I am going to be talking about Jazz songs you can play during your wedding ceremony and reception. If you prefer to read the list you can do so on our website MyWeddingSongs.com. Just go to playlists in the main menu then genre. Right there you will see all of the genres including Jazz. If you have any questions about any songs on the list, you can reach out to me on the website. While you're there, on the main menu, make sure you subscribe to our monthly newsletter. It goes out on the last day of the month and features all the new wedding songs released in the prior month. It also has great song ideas for date night or even just sitting by the fire. I realize that not every wedding will want to play Jazz music because it can be a slower tempo, but there are some great Jazz songs you can incorporate into your wedding day. Now, Boney James recently released an album that is becoming wildly popular. One of the songs I would like to talk about today is “Coastin'” by Boney James featuring LeLah Hathaway, make sure you listen to that song. Another common crooner that is on a lot of Jazz song lists is Frank Sinatra. One of his most popular songs is “Fly Me To The Moon” which features Count Basie and his orchestra. Also his song “My Way” you could have as the last dance song that everybody will sing along to. Those are a few really popular Jazz songs that are being downloaded and streamed right now. Let's go ahead and get started on the list. Starting off with “Valentine” by Laufey released in 2022. Now you can't really go wrong with a song titled “Valentine” and the lyrics…How the hell did I fall in love this time? And honestly, I can't believe I get to call you mine. I blinked and suddenly, I had a Valentine. You have to love those lyrics that you can incorporate into your wedding. The modern-day crooner, Michael Buble is also a very popular Jazz artist, or you may consider adult contemporary. His new album Higher, also released in 2022, features great songs like “A Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square” with the lyrics…It was such a romantic affair, And when you turned and smiled at me. A nightingale sang in Berkeley Square. Another song on that album is “My Valentine” with the lyrics…And she'll be there, This love of mine, My Valentine. If R&B is your thing, one of my favorite new songs is “It Had To Be You” but this is not the Harry Connick version, this is by Jac Ross with a more Jazz / R&B feel to it. Lyrics include…I wandered around, and I finally found, The somebody who could make me be true. And could make me be blue, And even be glad, Just to be sad – thinking of you. Two mega stars collaborated together, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga in 2021, for a whole album. My favorite song on that album is “I Get A Kick Out Of You” with the lyrics…Flying too high with some gal in the sky is my idea of nothing to do, Yet I get a kick, You give me a whirl, I get a kick out of you, Get my kicks out of you. For true Jazz fans, “Everything You Touch Is Gold” by Gregory Porter in 2020, I really love Gregory Porters' voice and his Jazz feel you could have as a background song or even during the wedding ceremony. Lyrics include…And it feels like heaven, Touchin' your hand, But it's just like heaven, Callin' your name. The next song I want to mention is a song you could play throughout your wedding ceremony,

The Team Approach to Financial Wellness Episode 158 Financial wellness is the state of being where you can meet your current and future financial obligations, feel secure in your financial future, and make choices that allow you to enjoy life. It is about money, but more. It is about feeling comfortable and at peace with your financial decision-making, and sometimes involves working with a financial planner and a wealth psychology coach. In today's episode, I talk with Carolyn McClanahan, CFP® and founder of Life Planning Partners, about how we collaborate together to increase the financial well-being of our shared clients. Carolyn worked as a physician before she became a financial planner and discusses the similarity between medicine and financial planning. This conversation was an extra special one for me as I have grown up listening to many of the bands that Julie has been responsible for putting out into the world. For those out there who love their UK Heavy Metal from the late 90s/early 00s you will know of her work via Visible Noise, the indie label she started who discovered bands like Bring me the Horizon and Bullet for My Valentine (and deeper cuts who I love like Number One Son and Kilkus). Now she is the label head of Sony Music's rock and metal label Music For Nations. We spoke about how she started in music, coming from the North of England and making her way in the music business, setting up Visible Noise and the work she is doing with Music for Nations and how things differ now that she is working with a Major (spoiler alert, it's great). She's currently working with some of my favourite acts out there that you should check out. From Global giants Tool (my all time number 1 band) through to newer/lesser known UK acts like Blanket and Witch Fever (who we discuss at length in the episode, they are awesome). Meanwhile, fans of big potatoes may be bummed to hear about a ruling from the folks who track world-record size tubers, and Stephen imagines how Parisians might have reacted to watching their iconic Eiffel Tower grow by 20 feet this week. Next, Michael Bublé had the experience of a lifetime when he got to work with Paul McCartney, who produced Michael's cover of “My Valentine” on his new album, “Higher,” which is available everywhere on March 25th. And in this Pod Show exclusive extended interview, Rose Matafeo finds common ground with Stephen Colbert as the two discuss their bungee jumping experiences in New Zealand. Warning: Explicit Conversations About Politics, Culture, & Sexuality Bookending the High Holidays of Love with a little romantic V-Day sex (starting and climaxing the V-Day weekend), My Valentine and I take the Love Train between orgasms, celebrating Lupercalia, the original, pagan, februa-flogging Holiday of the Heart, and World Bonobo Day, honoring humanity's closest Great Ape cousins, the Make-Love-Not-War, female-empowered, male-nurturing, sharing, caring, peace-through-pleasure-loving bonobos. Valentine's Day exalts romantic love between couples, which Capt'n Max ((whom I'm now calling my "V-Day Senior Sex Machine")  and I have been blessed to enjoy—even in marriage!—for over 30 years. But I've never liked the pressure, commercialism and exclusivity of V-Day, which is one of many reasons I enjoy Lupercalia and World Bonobo Day, celebrating a more inclusive love—on the kinky, consensual, pan-sensual, polyamorous Pan-Horns of Lust—in the community. In that spirit of communal ecstasy, we are delighted to reconnect with old friends and lovers from orgiastic Lupercalias past on this ride, like SUZY award-winning “Most Bonobo-Sexy Couple” stars of the legendary Lupercal of 2018, Daniele Watts and Chef Belive (currently grappling with mistreatment by an Atlanta yoga studio!), and that “Most Adorable” Valentine Princess, Amor “Baby Block” Hilton. We hope to see them all soon in Bonoboville when Vice-TV comes to film a documentary about what “icons” we are. We also help caller “Jack” get on the path to releasing his inner bonobo, and we review current events in our inimitable F.D.R. fashion, as well as censorship and the sexual counter-revolution, including the awful anti-Free Speech “Earn It” act, and my recent State of the Sexual Union address on Hartley Pleshaw's Lowell, Massachusetts-based “Active Radio” show on WCAP-AM. This week's exciting throwback is "LUPERCALIA MMXIII: Rising & Squirting," celebrating love, lust, impact play, Roman history, comparative religions and the fine art of female ejaculation. That should stimulate you into a gloriously lusty celebration of whatever High Holiday of Love you prefer this year, next year or anytime you feel the spirit of Pan within you. Today I teach you how to Use The Gas You Got. This is important because our brains love to tell us we can't do a project unless we feel Motivation or Inspiration-- Lies! Once you learn to Use The Gas You Got, you learn that you can create ANYTHING from ANY feeling. This show teaches you how to become UNSTOPPABLE.   Ever delay a task because you are waiting for a feeling of Inspiration, Motivation, or Enthusiasm to arrive? Maybe you were feeling Dread, Frustration, or Annoyance. When we reject our goals because of the emotion we are experiencing (or the fuel in our gas tank), we reject ourselves, which only creates more negative emotion. That's so painful! There is another way.   Of course, Motivation is amazing and it does fuel powerful actions. BUT, if we don't have Motivation in our gas tank, we don't have to wait around for Motivation to arrive!!; we don't have to give up on the task. Instead!!, we can Use The Gas We Got. You really can create something amazing from any feeling. Use the Gas You Got.   For me, I can't easily get motivated before I have results. If I wait around Motivation to arrive, guess what??? I get no results! Instead, I am learning to Use the Gas I Got. Sometimes the Gas I Got is Dread, and that's the gas that gets me started. Dread if fine! Dread is perfect! Dread can get you started!   For me to start a project, I know my brain loves motivation to start BUT it doesn't NEED motivation to start. I find it helpful to use whatever gas I got. It's also helpful to find a pocket of commitment or courage, which is way more accessible to me than Motivation when I have zero results. Now, after i start getting into a groove and seeing results, Motivation pops into my gas tank and we are golden.   The point is to Use the Gas You Got. It just might be the exact perfect feeling you need to get started. How do we know its perfect? Because its the feeling you have.   Here's what you get in this 16-minute show!: ✅NAME the Gas You Got ✅LOVE the Gas You Got ✅USE the Gas You Got ✅Explore how the Gas You Got is PERFECT for this particular situation

Chris & Kelsey play couples-therapists to murderous dolls and a love triangle! Plus, Kelsey is very pleased with herself for coming up with so many relevant break-up songs! The Classic Film: Bride of Chucky (1998) "Chucky, the doll possessed by a serial killer, discovers the perfect mate to kill and revive into the body of another doll” (IMDb.com). Believe it or not: we really enjoyed the Tiffany/Chucky dynamic and the silly/serious juxtaposition, but you can see where the franchise is headed and, based on the last scene, we're not looking forward to it. The Modern Film: My Valentine (2020) "A pop singer's songs and artistic identity have been stolen by her ex-boyfriend/manager and shamelessly pasted onto his new girlfriend/protégé. Locked together in a small concert venue after hours, the three of them confront the emotional abuses of the past...until things turn violent” (IMDb.com). The filmmakers responsible for My Valentine may not have made the most original product themselves (especially when you know the real story), but at least the fun they were having bleeds out of the screen (and the speakers).
