Community is one of life's most valuable but increasingly scarce resources. While we hear about a supposed epidemic of male loneliness, many men still resist joining groups or struggle to maintain involvement after initial enthusiasm wanes.Today on the show, Frank Schwartz will help us understand the barriers to building male community and how to overcome them. Frank is the CEO of F3, a free, all-volunteer men's leadership organization that uses workouts to bring men together and supports hundreds of decentralized chapters worldwide. In the first half of our conversation, Frank explains the psychology behind men's hesitation to join groups, how to navigate the "wish dream" of idealized community, and why expecting perfection kills participation. We then discuss what makes leadership in a decentralized group different from traditional hierarchies, the importance of embracing messiness, and why allowing men to make their own decisions creates stronger leaders than giving them a rulebook to follow. We end our conversation with Frank's perspective on cultivating patience as a leader and how to measure success when building a community of men.Resources Related to the PodcastF3AoM Podcast #324: How Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith Are the Cure for Sad Clown SyndromeQSource: The F3 Manual of Virtuous Leadership by David "Dredd" ReddingAoM article on phronesis/practical wisdomDying Breed article on Dietrich Bonhoeffer's vision of communityConnect With Frank SchwartzFrank on LinkedInFrank on X

The Tower of Babel teaches us a powerful lesson: human plans built on pride, fear, and self-sufficiency will ultimately crumble. But God, in His grace, redirects us to something greater.Join us as we explore Genesis 11 and uncover the dangers of misplaced ambition, the illusion of security, and the beauty of God's greater plan. Are you building your life for His glory or your own?
Sermon Notes: All In: A Life of Faithful Giving and True Discipleship1. The Widow's Offering: A Model of Faithful GenerosityScripture Reference: Mark 12:41-44Key Insight: Jesus highlights the widow who, despite her poverty, gives everything she has—two small coins—as an act of worship and trust in God.Takeaway: The size of our gift matters less than the heart behind it. True discipleship means giving out of love, not for recognition or reward.2. Discipleship as a Wholehearted CommitmentChallenge of Faith: Are we "all in" for God, like the widow, or is our faith just one commitment among many?Reflection Question: Is my life centered on Christ, or divided by competing commitments and securities?3. Stewardship Beyond FinancesBroad View of Stewardship: It's not just about money. Stewardship includes how we use our time, presence, and resources to reflect God's love and mercy.Application: Consider how all aspects of life can express faithfulness to God's mission.4. Living in a "Purple" ChurchUnity in Diversity: In a diverse congregation, we are called to humility, understanding, and shared purpose. Our Mission Stands Firm: Regardless of external influences, our mission is clear: to embody Christ's love, mercy, and justice.5. Our Baptismal VowsReaffirming Commitments: As baptized Christians, we have committed to resisting evil, embracing justice, and walking humbly with God.Living These Vows: Following Christ's example means caring for the vulnerable, sharing generously, and loving our neighbors.6. The Path of Abundant LifeAbundant Life in Christ: Our stewardship theme this year, “Abundant Life,” invites us to trust God fully and live free from worry, knowing that God provides.Going "All In": Like the widow, may we give our whole hearts and lives to God, embracing true discipleship and trusting in His goodness.Reflection for the Week:How can I embody the widow's faith and trust in my own life? In what ways am I called to “go all in” for God?Take Home Thought:Our mission remains constant, regardless of the changing world: to be the hands and feet of Christ, seeking justice, showing mercy, and walking humbly with God.
A Leap of Faith: Are you ready for an episode filled with inspiration, empowerment, and practical insights to fuel your entrepreneurial journey? We've got an incredible story for you!
Episode 176-Doubt and Faith Are doubt and faith incompatible? Is it OK for a Christian to doubt? Is there a good kind of doubt? Is there something we have to do in order for even a small amount of faith to work. I used to think that if a person had doubts that meant they didn't have faith. Now I know our doubts are what God can use to solidify our faith. Not convinced? Neither was I until I realized God invites us to ask Him the hard questions. If we never have doubts and don't ask the difficult questions, we will never be totally convinced that God is who He says He is. We learn by asking questions. On this episode, I'm answering your questions about how to activate your faith. Overcomers Link: https://TeresaShieldsParker.com/overcomers/
The Power of Intimacy with Christ | “The Wrestle of Faith” Are you wrestling to maintain your faith? I have had some seasons when I really struggled with believing God, but God used these wrestling moments to teach me spiritual truths about myself and about Him. Wrestling with faith is to intentionally decide to hold on to the Word of God when it feels like it is fruitless to do so. I have had to fight to believe and to commit to believe in spite of what it felt or looked like. I believed anyway and God did it! Fighting to believe in the thick of adversity is tenacious intentional determination when it seems like inevitable failure. You will take away from this episode some tools and knowledge on how to exercise your faith and fight to keep it alive against the odds Related Content: Article: Faith Climb Dr. Mancha has 35+ years of ministry, an author, a former radio and television show host, motivational speaker, former pastor of 28 years, mother of 4 adult children and entrepreneur. The Epistle Reading we hear on the Feast Day of St. Demetrios talks with many examples (Athletes and Soldiers). We may not think of the Church as coaching, but it can and should be seen in this way. If we allow it our lives can be spent not only being coached, but also coaching others too! Listen to this sermon and ask yourself the following questions:Who has been a coach for you in the life of the Church? A parent? Grandparent? Godparent? Clergyman? Teacher? Chanter? Youth Advisor?Do you still desire to be coached in the Faith? Are you currently coaching others? Are you a good coach by your own action and discipline?
Today's F-Bomb hits on how we can avoid the unforced errors that so often determine our outcomes in life. Faith: Are we tithing? Not giving back to God is an unforced error. Family: My Costco runs are filled with unforced errors, and I followed that up with another one this week. Football: DK Metcalf with the unforced error of the season against Dallas. Finance: 1) Don't Beat Yourself 2) Prepare Well 3) Know the Rules (and adapt to rule changes) 4) Always Give 100% Effort

Faith - Are we sure? by Hope Church Gainsborough
We live in a highly unfocused and easily distracted society. A few statistics that prove this:Distracted driving is the number 1 cause of car accidents in the U.S.Distractions cost U.S. companies $650 billion per year on average. The average internet user spends 5 years and 4 months of their life on social networks. So, how do we become more focused? The Bible has a lot to say about this:Keep God and His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33).Fix or set your thoughts on Godly things (Phillippians 4:8, Colossians 3:2, Hebrew 3:1).Take every thought captive that goes against what we know about God (2 Corinthians 10:5).Focus is just as much about what we choose not to pay attention to as it is what we do pay attention to. It’s difficult to remove a negative habit without adding a new one in its place, and vice versa. For example, it’s hard to give up foods that are bad for you without having a plan to eat healthier foods instead. There are only so many hours in a day. When you choose to focus more on one area of your life, you’re choosing to focus less on another area by default.5 areas where you need focus most:Faith: Are you pursuing God and maintaining a strong relationship with Him?Health: Do you feel healthy and strong most of the time?Relationships: What are your core values? Are you all going the same direction?Career: Are you working toward a destination or just trying to get to payday?Money: What financial goals do you have? What I’m focused on right now:My walk with God: Am I seeking Him and His purpose for my life?My family: Loving my husband and children well (5 Love Languages)My health: Adding more vegetables to my diet, getting up earlier and exercisingMy career: Writing projects and the Purpose Without Apology podcastAction Steps: Choose one area of your life that needs more of your attention, and commit to focusing on that area for the next 30 days.Choose one aspect of your life that needs less attention from you, and spend less time on it over the next 30 days.Resources:https://www.businessinsider.com/millionaire-study-wealth-factors-confidence-focus-2019-1https://www.inc.com/jeff-haden/the-6-high-performance-habits-only-the-most-extrao.htmlhttps://stopad.io/blog/interrupted-work-statistics
