Many businesses are concerned about the impact of AI on content creation and SEO. Greg Brooks, Partner and CMO at SearchTides, offers a balanced perspective suggesting that AI should be viewed as a powerful assistant rather than a replacement for human expertise. AI can significantly boost productivity but maintaining authenticity in an AI-driven world remains crucial for creating truly valuable content for better customer experience.

SaaS marketers know by now that AI has—and will—impact search. But in an ever-changing sea of algorithms, what the heck does Google care about today (and in the future?), and how can marketers make moves now to stay ahead of where search is headed? Greg Brooks, partner and CMO at SearchTides, ironically believes we are moving towards the "human era" of search, even though there will be orders of magnitude more AI-generated content on the internet than ever before. Join us as he discusses at a high level what Google cares about when making content decisions and details tactical and practical advice on how to perform (think favicons, schema, and all the search-speak). The Marketing Mix: Thought-starters for B2B Business Leaders
If you're worried about how “search” is going to be impacted by AI…then you've clearly been paying attention! But beyond all the hype, what are the most likely outcomes in the next year or so. Should your SEO strategy be changing? Should your marketing investment be going in different places?Greg Brooks and his team at SearchTides spend their time thinking through these exact issues – based on data and their own experience. And on The Marketing Mix, Greg shares some of his thoughts on the changes that are already happening. And how marketers and business owners should be adapt. We start off by talking about foundational elements of SEO; consider the long term value of content marketing as a search strategy; and think through the overall marketing approach as search becomes smarter. Will the "Human Element" be the thing that makes the difference, and keeps you ahead of the game?Key Takeaways:Current SEO best practices - authority, relevance, and technical optimization - will continue to be the bedrock of search. But we need to consider an additional “human” layer to boost its value. If AI is driving the cost of producing content to zero, how do you add value? Expertise and Experience are the areas where human input can improve on AI generationGoogle's continued focus on 'helpfulness' should guide the strategy, rather than looking to AI-specific tactics and shortcuts. The LSU Tigers fall to the Ole Miss Rebels 55-49 in Oxford Saturday night because of the defense. Jayden Daniels threw for over 400 yards and the stable of running backs, led by Logan Diggs with a 101 yard performance, put up over 600 yards of offense and 49 points but it still wasn't enough to mask the defensive deficiencies. The defense did not record a single sack of Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart. Per Brian Kelly, the defense missed 34 tackles that accounted for 288 yards. The secondary continues to get exposed and it is even worse now without Greg Brooks and Zy Alexander leaving the game early with an injury. LSU currently ranks 130th in the nation in pass defense. Overall, the defense hurt the football team on Saturday night and it isn't the first clunker from the defense this season. So where does the team go from here? It seems the only answer is to part ways with the defensive coordinator. Matt House has mismanaged Harold Perkins, left LB Whit Weeks on the sideline for a majority of the first half of the game, and has not seemed to help improve the defense week over week and there is zero excuse for the defense to be as horrendous as it is.
