Hello Metal Heads - Hope your Summer is fun and enjoyable. On this week's episode we dissect the metal landscape in 1988. This is a pivotal year in the 80s metal explosion as it picks up where 1987 left off. The Hair Nation scene is getting oversaturated with copy cat bands and less than Steller releases from the big wigs.( Pun Intended) The BIG 4 of Thrash all release new full length albums and are really maturing into Super stardom levels. The battle of Pasadena continues as David Lee Roth has his SKYSCRAPER release and VAN HAGAR, err, VAN HALEN puts out OU812. Track By Track observations for both. All this and more as we revisit 1988 and take a deep dive into the HISTORY OF METAL. Visit the new website and join the Metal mayhem ROC community. The Hair Nation scene is at the top of the charts and all over the metal mags and MTV with Career Topping releases from MOTLEY CRUE, DEF LEPPARD. Part of the BIG 4 of Thrash is solidifying with releases by METALLICA and ANTHRAX. Solo acts like ACE FREHLEY and DIO tour the states. Are The legend acts like AEROSMITH , KISS, RUSH and BLACK SABBATH running out of gas? All this and more as we revisit 1987 and take a deep dive into the HISTORY OF METAL. On this week's episode we dissect the metal landscape in 1986. This is the most ground breaking year in the 80s metal explosion. The biggest divorce in rock history plays out in front of our naked steaming eyes as VAN HAGAR AND DAVID LEE ROTH release post breakup debut albums. The Hair Nation scene is at the top of the charts with BON JOVI, CINDERELLA, POISON and EUROPE all over the metal mags and MTV. The thrash and underground scenes are becoming mainstream with METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and METAL CHURCH taking their spot at the metal table. American young guns are making a dent as QUEENSRYCHE, TESLA, STRYPER and WASP are quickly gaining a following. The British Invasion acts are changing their image as JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, OZZY OZBOURNE and BLACK SABBATH are trying to keep their hold at the top. A huge get for the show—from SiriusXM’s Hair Nation and Ozzy’s Boneyard, DJ Keith Roth steps aboard the tour bus! He’s known for his storytelling, and he does just that! Listen in as he talks about his teenage years, his music, and his broadcasting career. He’s a guy who has played with everyone, so obviously an instant favorite of mine . Despite his career, he remains a cool, warm, and NICE person. Another great episode, compliments of a great guest…
