Anlässlich der Museumsnacht Basel diskutiert SRF-Mundartredaktor Markus Gasser auf dem Münsterplatz live vor Publikum mit seinen zwei Gästen Flo Baeriswyl und Felix Rudolf von Rohr über Baseldeutsch. Die Kernfrage dabei: Wem gehört Baseldeutsch überhaupt? Man kann in Basel fragen, wen man will: Praktisch niemand wagt zu sagen, er oder sie spreche astreines Baseldeutsch. Die Vorstellung eines «korrekten» Stadtdialekts ist durch die Fasnacht, durch aktive Sprachpfleger und durch das zur Norm gewordene Baseldeutsch-Wörterbuch von Rudolf Suter aus dem Jahr 1984 so stark in den Köpfen verankert, dass die eigene Sprache immer davon abweicht. Wer sagt noch «allewyyl», «Zmoorge dringge» oder «Schungge»? Eben. Aber stimmt diese Beobachtung auch für die junge Generation? Oder hat diese ein ganz anderes Verhältnis zum Baseldeutsch? Wem «gehört» dieser Dialekt eigentlich? Wir reden darüber mit der jungen Autor*in und Journalist*in Flo Baeriswyl und dem Fasnächtler und Berufsbasler Felix Rudolf von Rohr - und wir beziehen Stimmen aus dem Publikum mit ein. Familiennamen Inauen, Indermaur, Inderwildi Alle drei Namen sind sogenannte präpositionale Wohnstättennamen: Zur lokalisierenden Präposition «in» kommt jeweils eine Ortsbezeichnung als Ergänzung. «Au» bedeutet 'Land am Wasser'); «Muur» oder «Mauer» benennt seinen ersten Namensträger wohl als Bewohner eines ummauerten Siedlungs- und Pflanzplatzes; «Wildi» bezeichnet im alpinen Gebiet der Schweiz in der Regel abgelegene, unkultivierte und raue Gebiete oberhalb oder am Rand von Siedlungen, die als Weideland und zur Gewinnung von Wildheu genutzt werden.

Eine Folge gespickt mit Sinnfragen. Kernfrage, wo die Scheiße denn nun hingeht wurde hier nun weitreichend geklärt unter anderm mit Unterstützung der Künstlichen Intelligenz. Kurzum, wir wissen es nicht und angeblich, angeblich ist die Erde schlau und macht aus Scheiße eben halt Sachen, damit wir durch den Scheiß der sich tagtäglich anhäuft, nicht gestört oder sogar krank werden. Nun gibt es solche und solche Scheiße, wir meinen die echte Scheiße, die durchs Rohr läuft und nicht den Scheiß, der täglich unsere Ohren erreicht und mit dem wir uns täglich beschäftigen müssen. Als anregenden Duft empfiehlt sie Rosmarin. Allerdings mit der Einschränkung, dass dieses ätherische Öl wegen seiner anregenden Wirkung für Menschen mit hohem Blutdruck nicht geeignet ist. Zum Entspannen kann der Rosmarin helfen. Wer Mühe hat mit diesem Duft mischt ihn am besten mit Orangenduft, sagt die Fachfrau.

In den USA wächst die Kritik an Donald Trump – auch aus den eigenen Reihen. Noch hat der Präsident seine Republikaner im Griff, aber die Risse in seiner Macht sind unübersehbar. Die Inflation liegt bei rund drei Prozent, weit weg von den Werten seines Vorgängers Joe Biden. Die Bauwirtschaft und der Energiesektor profitieren von einem ungebremsten KI-Boom. Und dennoch ist US-Präsident Trump in der wohl schwierigsten innenpolitischen Krise seiner Karriere. By Adam Turteltaub As important as gaining access to the board is, using that time properly is even more crucial. Becky Rohr, Chief Compliance Officer and head of Investigations at Ericsson, will be sharing her insights and advice on this topic in her session “Board Reporting, Not Bored Reporting: Presenting to Boards and Other Senior Stakeholders by Using Data and Storytelling” at the 2025 SCCE Annual Compliance & Ethics Institute in Nashville. In this podcast and preview of her session, she advises that, even before entering the boardroom it's important to take the time to know your audience. Talking to the board, a board committee or senior executives is different since each has its own priorities. Be sure that what you say and show them speaks directly to their role. Remember, too, that the board is focused on the organization as a whole. She cautions that the board will feel obligated to read anything you send it. So, be sure to avoid overwhelming them and to focus on the larger issues that could materially affect the organization. When presenting data, don't just give them the raw numbers. Prepare a concise analysis that tells them what those numbers mean and what the key takeaways are. She found that a slide showing opportunities, challenges, highlights and lowlights in a simple quadrant graphic can be particularly useful. Dashboards, too, can be valuable, so long as every light on it isn't green. That's bound to raise suspicions. Take the time, too, to anticipate what questions they are likely to ask. She warns that boards tend to want to know how the organization stacks up against its industry peers. So, be sure to take the time to benchmark.
