He has worked for decades to advance conservative policies and candidates as a principled and consistent voice for the American people. Prior to becoming the longest serving U.S. political appointee at the United Nations, Ric served as a top advisor to San Diego Mayor Susan Golding. He has since gone on to become one of the most impactful diplomats in American history. As the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Ric advanced President Trump's America First policies, facing down international foes like Iran and Hezbollah. Ric's effectiveness earned him the ire of some in the international political establishment and among European leftists, which he relished. It was also during this period that Ambassador Grenell was appointed by President Trump to spearhead the Administration's effort to decriminalize homosexuality across the globe. Ric was the Special Presidential Envoy for Serbia and Kosovo Peace Negotiations, where he was able to broker an historic Economic Normalization deal. His role in the effort earned him the Presidential Medal of Merits from Kosovo President Thaçi. At the request of President Trump in 2020, Ric served as the acting Director of National Intelligence. This appointment meant Ric became the first Senate-confirmed Cabinet member who was openly gay – a reality the media has tried to ignore. Grenell received a master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and his Bachelor's Degree in Government and Public Administration from Evangel College. Rodriguez lasted just one out and averaged 91.9 mph for his fastball, 2.4 mph below his season average, and left the mound with Tigers head athletic trainer Doug Teter. Drew Rasmussen allowed four hits in five shutout innings with seven strikeouts and no walks, improving to 4-0 with a 1.01 ERA in his last five starts. Royals 6, White Sox 2 – Witt homers off Giolito, Melendez connects as KC tops Chisox Bobby Witt Jr. and MJ Melendez homered and fellow rookie Emmanuel Rivera hit a go-ahead triple to lead the Kansas City Royals over the Chicago White Sox 6-2. The league made the announcement Wednesday night. The contract must be ratified by both the CFL board of governors and the CFL Players’ Association. The new collective bargaining agreement comes four days after players with seven of the league’s nine teams did not show up for the start of training camp. Players with the two remaining teams would have been eligible to walk off the job Thursday. Soccer – US Soccer equalizes pay in milestone with women, men The U.S. Soccer Federation has reached milestone agreements to pay its men’s and women’s teams equally. That makes the American national governing body the first in the sport to promise both sexes completely matching compensation. The federation has announced separate collective bargaining agreements through 2028 with the unions for both national teams. The move ends years of often acrimonious negotiations. One of the main sticking points was World Cup prize money. The unions agreed to pool FIFA’s payments for the men’s World Cup this year and next year’s Women’s World Cup. It will also pool the 2026 and 2027 tournaments. This week on Inside the Headset, we are featuring Ferris State's Head Coach, Tony Annese. In this episode, Coach Annese reflects on last year's Division II National Championship run, details where his passion for teaching and leading young men came from, and highlights the importance of sharping your personal skillset. Tony Annese is entering his tenth season as the Head Coach for the Ferris State Bulldogs. During the 2021 season, Annese lead his team to their first national championship title in school history and ended the season with a perfect 14-0 record. During his tenure with the Bulldogs, Coach Annese has built one of the top programs at the Division II level. Since 2014, the bulldogs have won five Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles and have qualified for the NCAA Dividion II playoffs seven times. A proven winner at all of his previous coaching stops and highly-regarded across the country, Annese took over the Bulldog program following three impressive years as the head coach at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC), which came on the heels of a highly successful 25-season stint at the prep level. While at GRCC, Annese was tabbed as the NJCAA Regional Coach of the Year all three seasons and led the Raiders to a three-year mark of 30-4 overall while winning two NJCAA Division II championships. The program finished among the nation's top 10 teams three-straight seasons and he coordinated all aspects of the program such as recruiting, player development, academic support and more. Prior to taking over at GRCC, Annese established himself as one of the state's premier coaches and a football mastermind in four stops at the prep level. He posted a mark of 195-41 in 22 seasons as a prep head coach at Montrose, Ann Arbor Pioneer, Jenison and Muskegon High Schools while making 15 playoff appearances and five trips to the state semifinals, including three state championships. In Annese's last stop as a prep head coach at Muskegon High School, he led the Big Reds to a 92-15 (.860) record in nine seasons and claimed three Division II state titles over his last five seasons in 2004, 2006 and 2008. All three teams finished unbeaten at 14-0 overall with his final team in '08 ranked fourth in the country. He was a National High School Athletic Coaches Association Coach of the Year finalist in 2009 and was tabbed as the MHSFCA Coach of the Year in 2004, 2006 and 2008. As the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Ric advanced President Trump's America First policies, facing down international foes like Iran and Hezbollah. Ric's effectiveness earned him the ire of some in the international political establishment and among European leftists, which he relished.It was also during this period that Ambassador Grenell was appointed by President Trump to spearhead the Administration's effort to decriminalize homosexuality across the globe.Ric was the Special Presidential Envoy for Serbia and Kosovo Peace Negotiations, where he was able to broker an historic Economic Normalization deal. His role in the effort earned him the Presidential Medal of Merits from Kosovo President Thaçi. At the request of President Trump in 2020, Ric served as the acting Director of National Intelligence. This appointment meant Ric became the first Senate-confirmed Cabinet member who was openly gay – a reality the media has tried to ignore.Grenell received a master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University's John F. This week in Pastor Austin's sermon "Empathy" he focused on John 11, the story of Lazarus death. Jesus lived in fallen, cracked, broken world where disease, death, tragedy, and heartache were just a part of life. In his humanity, your Savior feels disturbing human emotions deep in his soul. He feels the weight of the grief his friends feel, even as he knows he can do something about it.

Pastor Austin continues his series on "The Emotions of God" with "Love". You can't hate a person and also say you share in the love of God because, as we've seen, God's greatest love is people. And you can't hate that which God loves and think you're good with God. Every person is a person Jesus died for. So love one another as Jesus has loved you.

Pastor Austin starts his new series "The Emotions of God" focusing on anger this morning. Rambo Jesus would never have let the soldiers put him on the cross. Weak Jesus wouldn't have been enough of a threat to evil to be condemned to the cross. 

In Pastor Austin's last sermon for Advent he pulls from various texts within the Bible to focus on King Harod. Today, King Herod and his empire are ruins, while Christian churches are in nearly every city and town in every country across the world. Today, King Herod's capital city is the capital of Christianity. Today, King Herod's speeches are forgotten, while Jesus' words have been translated into over 1200 languages. This is the 3rd message in Pastor Austin's Advent series, Unforgettable Christmas.  The focus of this message is on the passage from Matthew 2:1-12. They were as pagan as pagan could get, yet the Magi understood something right off the bat that many people today never understand. They understood that Christmas is about worship.

Pastor Austin continues his Advent series with the Unforgettable Cousin Once Removed pulling from Luke 1:5-20.  When God speaks into your life, it's uncommon that he will rise above the volume of the world around you. Or even the volume of your own inner voice. God still speaks quietly because here's the thing about listening to a whisper. If you want to hear someone whisper, you have to be really, really close. God whispers to draw us close. 

This episode is the beginning of our Advent series Unforgettable Christmas. In this series Pastor Austin will explore some of the lesser noticed characters of the Christmas story.  In Advent and Christmas, we celebrate the incarnation – that God took on flesh and lived among us. God was no longer located solely in the temple – Christmas means God has gone mobile. He has left the sacred space of the temple to dwell in the hearts of every person embracing God's final sacrifice for sin.

Pastor Austin preached on the passage of Ephesians 4:22-24. When we come to Christ, we come as we are. Salvation by grace means that You are accepted before you act acceptable. You don't have to pretend to play the part to get the part.

Pastor Austin starts a new series called "Ephesians: From Death to Life". In his message "Unconditional Election", he concludes with the notion of being elected or chosen may naturally drive a person to pride, but God's election pushes us towards humility because election is a demonstration of grace that we aren't just supposed to just enjoy for ourselves or marvel at, but live out in your ordinary, everyday life.
