Here's a favorite of ours: visualize your best possible self and tap into your inherent enough-ness with this guided meditation by Justin Michael Williams.Link to episode transcript: https://tinyurl.com/ytakaaepHow to Do This Practice: Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and visualize your ideal future self, the person of your dreams you've always wanted to be. Try noticing as many details as you can: What color are you wearing, how do you feel, what are you doing, is anyone with you? Answer this question in your mind with 1-3 words: As you look at this future version of you, what energy do you need to cultivate more of in your life now, today, to become closer to being that person you see in your vision?  Breathe in deeply, and as you do imagine yourself breathing in that energy. As you exhale, imagine that energy spreading throughout your body and energy field. Open your eyes. Remember, you have what you need to become that which you want to become. Could this really be our future? If so, what has to happen now to achieve such a radical change? In How We Ended Racism, Justin Michael Williams and Shelly Tygielski reveal a path for real and lasting global impact―not just talking about it, studying it, or making small steps, but actually ending racism in one generation.

Williams and Tygielski draw from a wide array of scientific studies, as well as their practical successes in teaching a multitude of diverse groups across perceived “divides,” to show us how to shift our perspective and enact lasting change in our families, workplaces, communities, and beyond. Here they provide solid answers to the questions future generations will ask about this pivotal time in history, by laying out the eight conditions that needed to arise in humanity to realize this possibility.

And that alone has saved me from making so many bad choices in my lows and bad choices in my highs to just be able to sit and run with it. Thoughts On Breathing Breathing is one of the first things that I do when I sit down to meditate. I just do a short breathing practice. Whether people are doing breath work or whatever it is, I honestly just like taking a few big deep breaths before I practice. I know the science of it says it just helps regulate the nervous system. For me, breathing is an essential part of, uh, as a healthy mindfulness practice..   Final Advice Well, just love yourselves people. I think right now with everything going on in the world, the ability for us to love others, is really important. And also the ability to really love ourselves and by loving ourselves we expand and open our hearts in deeper ways. And I really believe it's through opening our hearts that we're going to start to solve some of the problems that we're seeing in the world right now. Visualize your best possible self and tap into your inherent enough-ness with this guided meditation by Justin Michael Williams. How to Do This Practice: Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and visualize your ideal future self, the person of your dreams you've always wanted to be. We are enough to start stepping into the life of our dreams. This particular lesson really gets at the heart of the program: Calling people out doesn't work. No matter what has occurred, shaming or blaming someone else shuts down the centers of their brain that activate learning and growth. So of course they get defensive — it's built into human biology. That's why it's critical to learn how to call people forward. Calling forward is an INVITATION. We are calling them toward something new. And in the process, we must also be willing to be called forward ourselves. You can learn more about Commune at onecommune.com. And connect with us on Instagram at @onecommune.
