Episode 2.45A runaway slave. A personal letter. A gospel plea. This episode dives deep into Paul's shortest—and most personal—epistle, written not to a church, but to a single man: Philemon.Through a story of slavery, repentance, and mediation, we explore the power of reconciliation in Christ. Who was Onesimus, and why did he flee? Why did Paul step in? And what does this teach us about Christian intercession, accountability, and mercy?Covered in this episode:– Background on Philemon, Onesimus, and slavery in the Roman world– Paul's prison setting and role as advocate– Wordplay, theology, and irony in “useful” and “useless”– A gospel-shaped appeal that mirrors Christ's own intercession– Practical lessons for handling conflict, forgiveness, and restoration todayWhether read as ancient correspondence or gospel drama, Philemon calls Christians to radical grace—and reminds us that love often comes at a cost.Find our videocast here: https://youtu.be/63Zn3ARxHPwMerch here: https://take-2-podcast.printify.me/Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/reakt-music/deep-stoneLicense code: 2QZOZ2YHZ5UTE7C8Find more Take 2 Theology content at http://www.take2theology.com

This week's conversation on The You-est You® Podcast feels especially close to my heart. I sat down with Emily Perry, Director of the Circle of Atonement and host of the Exploring A Course in Miracles podcast, to dive into the timeless wisdom of A Course in Miracles. We talked about true forgiveness, healing, and what it really means to view upsets, resentments, and grievances through the lens of love.  Emily shared how the Course invites us to see attacks not as personal offenses, but as calls for love — a shift that changes everything. If you've ever felt the weight of judgment or the challenge of forgiveness in your life, I think you'll find this episode to be both healing and deeply inspiring.

What if your deepest regret could become the very thing that heals you—and helps someone else heal too? In this raw and unforgettable episode of Recounting Life Lessons, we sit down with actor, artist, and soon-to-be debt author Sean Hemeon, who just celebrated 20 years of sobriety. Sean's real-life story reads like a Hollywood script—complete with addiction, cartel connections, federal agents, and undercover work—but what makes it unforgettable isn't the drama, it's the emotional depth, spiritual transformation, and powerful healing that came after. Sean shares how his greatest regret became the heartbeat of his upcoming memoir, The Good Little Drug Lord, and how he went from pain and regret to a life of purpose and love. If you've ever struggled with shame, family wounds, or the weight of unspoken regrets, this episode will speak straight to your heart.   IN THIS EPISODE: How one life-altering regret became the inspiration for a redemptive memoir The difference between acknowledging regret vs. being imprisoned by it Why forgiveness is an active verb—and how to practice it in real time How resentment and unresolved trauma keep us stuck in survival mode A powerful framework for understanding and navigating parent-child wounds How healing your inner child can transform your current relationships The spiritual shift that helped Sean go from victimhood to empowered creator How your personal healing can influence your entire family system The surprising way Sean's relationship with his mother was fully restored Why every human needs to feel seen, heard, and understood—and how to be that safe space for others What happens when you finally stop performing and start living from your heart   A FEW GOLDEN NUGGETS Your regrets can become creative fuel. When faced with your deepest regret, you can either stay imprisoned by it or transform it into a message that heals. Sean chose the latter. Resentment is often a habit... and forgiveness is a practice. Forgiveness isn't a one-time decision. It's a daily choice, a mindset shift, and a spiritual discipline that frees you more with each layer release. We all long to be seen, heard, and understood. Whether you're a parent, a partner, or a friend—true connection begins when you stop judging and start listening without trying to fix or defend yourself and your own beliefs. Transformation often requires releasing old expectations. When Sean let go of what love from his mother "should" look like, he finally received it in a way he never expected.    RESOURCES MENTIONED: Follow Sean on Instagram: @sean_hemeon Sean's Website: www.seanhemeon.com Subscribe to our email list for early access to our Backstage Pass: https://www.recountinglifelessons.com/insider ------------------------------------------------------------------- For our latest insights and things we don't share with the public, become a Sione and Alana Insider. Forgiveness, while challenging, is fundamental to Christian faith and emotional wellbeing. It doesn't mean approving wrongdoing, forgetting what happened, or immediately restoring trust. Instead, true forgiveness is a daily choice that requires releasing bitterness and following God's example of grace. Understanding that forgiven people forgive others, Christians are called to make forgiveness a habit, even when it's difficult. This process often involves repeatedly choosing to forgive, giving situations to God, and remembering our own forgiveness.

Place your hand on your belly, And feel it expand as you breathe in, And contract as you breathe out.  Over and over again, Your hand feeling the deep, soothing rhythm of your breathing, As your belly rises and falls with each relaxing breath. PAUSE… Love lives here.  In the cells that connect as your hand touches your belly. In the flow of oxygen as it feeds you, In the history of experiences that have brought you here to this moment.  You are love. PAUSE… Yet, it is so easy to let our egos take over.  To let ourselves get triggered by life. But today, you can choose more love. When anger arises and you want to scream, choose more love. When someone disagrees and you want to make them wrong, choose more love.  When others judge you, choose more love. When someone disappoints you, choose more love. When fear creeps up and you want to defend, hide, or blame, choose more love. PAUSE... To choose more love means to stop and reverse the powerful motion of ego. Ego wants to fight back with fire. She wants to prove herself right.  She wants to defend her identity. But love embraces the ego,  And reminds her that there is nothing to fight, nothing to prove, nothing to defend.  That we're all perfectly imperfect human beings with our own egos and stories.   And that we are all made from the same universal love.  PAUSE… To choose more love means letting your actions speak louder than your words.  To be kind,  Giving, Open, Even when your ego doesn't want to be. PAUSE… To choose more love means bathing in compassion for yourself, And giving compassion freely to others. So take a deep breath in, And let yourself fill with the warm energy of love. PAUSE… Choose more love today. And watch your soul blossom. Watch your world blossom. Namaste, Beautiful.

Start Podcast Episode] The Connection Between Love & Forgiveness #Love #Forgiveness [Theme Music] Anthony Wilson: "Hello, everyone! Welcome back to another episode of the 'Love Thy Neighbor' podcast. I'm your host, Anthony Wilson, and today we have something special lined up for our listeners. We're going to be discussing an intriguing topic - the connection between love and forgiveness, as drawn from Colossians 3:13-14. Cue verse reading: (Listen to the soft voice of a reader):13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. Anthony: This verse from Colossians not only highlights the importance of forgiveness but also intertwines it inexplicably with the act of love. It underlines that forgiveness, in itself, is an act of love. Now let's dive into it a bit. There are a few key elements here that we need to unpack. First, "Bear with each other and forgive one another". The beauty of this command is its acknowledgment that we are all fallible beings—we will wrong others, and others will wrong us. Yet, here lies the magnificence of forgiveness—it gives us a chance to right our wrongs, to heal, and to move forward. Next, we find this idea of, "Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Here, we are reminded of the greatest act of forgiveness—when God, out of love, forgave all our sins. The forgiveness exhibited by God is not weak; it is strong. It frees us from the chains of bitterness, resentment, and anger. When we forgive as God forgave us, we embody that divine strength and unconditional love. Lastly, “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Love is not a single act, but a lifestyle. It is the golden thread that binds all virtues together. It's painted as the culmination, the grand finale that perfectly binds and completes these virtues. So, in essence, love and forgiveness are interconnected. They're not two separate entities but two sides of the same coin—in demonstrating one, you're often demonstrating the other. But don't just take my word for it. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/anthony-wilson/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/anthony-wilson/support

"There is always more than enough love to go around for everyone." —Ann LeMasterSelf-love, forgiveness, and spiritual connectedness are powerful tools that can help us overcome feelings of shame, guilt, and depression. When we lack self-love and neglect our own needs and emotions, we can become disconnected from our true selves. This disconnection can lead to negative feelings and a sense of emptiness that can be difficult to overcome. One of the most important things we can do to reconnect with ourselves is to practice self-love. This means accepting ourselves as we are, flaws and all, and treating ourselves with kindness and compassion. When we love ourselves, we are better able to forgive ourselves for mistakes and move forward with a positive attitude. This week, Ann shares with us heartwarming words from inspiring people to help us get our sanity, happiness, and identity back. Listen and hear timeless wisdom about the mistakes that block self love, where self-judgment stems from, the reason behind addiction, how to identify and overcome controlling behaviors, the source of love, how to find forgiveness, and how to connect to our inner spirituality.Connect with Ann on Social Media:  Website: https://seednutrition.com/Annt/home Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008572834952 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/annthemasterhealer/ Episode Highlights: 02:08 The Pain of Rejection07:53 Redefining Self-Worth13:50 The Way Out of Addiction20:12 The Source of Love24:50 Defining Controlling Behaviors30:40 Love Blocking35:50 Forgiveness41:46 Bringing Dreams Into Reality48:12 Two Motivational Forces
