The statement "needs no introduction" is somewhat overused. But in the case of this week's guest on Off Track With Carruthers And Bice, it's accurate. Three-time AMA Grand National Champion and three-time 500cc GP World Champion Kenny Roberts truly needs no introduction. We were fortunate enough to catch up with Roberts at Circuit of The Americas with the legend in Texas for MotoGP and, more importantly, the road-racing debut of his Team Roberts' protégé Kody Kopp in MotoAmerica's new Parts Unlimited Talent Cup By Motul series. Roberts is all-in on the new class that is designed to find the next American MotoGP racer, and we chatted with the "King" about that and so much more.Support the show

The SP comes hot on the heels of the standard MT-09 update earlier this year, with three key upgrades: top-shelf KYB suspension, Brembo brakes, and some interesting racetrack-inspired electronics. Interestingly, the MT-09 SP has now been joined by the long-awaited 2025 Yamaha YZF-R9. Revealed just last week, the track-only R9 is the larger sibling to the R7. It's got the same excellent triple-cylinder CP3 engine as the MT-09, yet the R9 is a full supersport machine that's positioned to go up against the other machines in the class. It'll be interesting to see how it fares, and as soon as we've had a chance to ride it, we'll let you know! In our second segment I chat with motorcycle racing royalty, 3-time 500cc World Champion ‘King' Kenny Roberts. Both Kenny and his son's world championship winning motorcycles—as well as one of Team KR's Proton MotoGP racebikes and all their memorabilia—is now all a permanent part of the Barber Motorsports Museum Collection. I sat down with Kenny at the recent Barber Vintage Festival, and he talks to me in his frank and funny style about almost everything. Why the bike now on display (his 1980 Grand Prix race-winning Yamaha YZR500) is his favorite race bike; what drove him to such extraordinary achievements; and what it was like to ride—and win—on the fearsome Yamaha TZ750 2-stroke dirt tracker that one time at the Indy Mile. Kenny candidly tells me what's different about the modern era race bikes compared to his era; why he wouldn't hire legend Max Biaggi to ride his KR MotoGP bike; what he thought of his fearsome rival Barry Sheene, and of course, with a twinkle in his eye—why he likes English women. It's a fascinating insight into one of the truly greatest motorcycle racers of all time. So, without further ado, from all of us here at Ultimate Motorcycling, we really think you're going to enjoy this episode! We love your feedback! Double pivot andalan anda ngomongin tentang King Kenny
Reaction to the news that Jurgen Klopp is leaving. On the momentous day that Jurgen Klopp announced this would be his last season as Liverpool boss, a stunned Jim Boardman and Jay Reid tried to make sense of it all while it was all still a bit raw. It'll probably feel raw for a while yet. The news came out of nowhere, Liverpool fans were now counting the days until the departure of a man who had brought so much happiness and pride back to the club. The news drew parallels with the day Bill Shankly's retirement was announced in 1974, and that famous piece from Granada Reports with Tony Wilson getting instant reaction from Reds around town, one lad thinking it was all a bluff: “Yer having me on aren't yer?” Fast forward almost 50 years and those reactions are the same, for a different generation of Red. The last time we faced anything like this was when King Kenny called time on the job back in 1991, the strain of the aftermath of Hillsborough playing a part in the exhaustion that made him so desperate for a break from the game. In 1974 we got Bob Paisley in for Bill Shankly and the success continued and increased. When Kenny left, the years that followed were mostly miserable as far as success on the field was concerned, aside from brief moments of bliss, like in 2001 and 2005. Klopp's announcement felt like a real body blow, like losing a much-loved family member, and now fans are left wondering what the future holds. As far as Klopp is concerned the focus has to switch back to the near future, the visit of Norwich in the cup before Chelsea in the league, and although that's going to be easier said than done for the fans, we are Liverpool and we know how to give good people a good send off, so here's to enjoying every last minute of the Jurgen Klopp era. Here's hoping it ends with him on an open-top bus parading four trophies around the city. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
This week we give a royal welcome to our guest, the legendary Kenny Robers. ‘King Kenny' not only won the world title three times, but he also changed the face of MotoGP forever through his legendary battle with the FIM over riders' rights, than started his own world titles winning raceteam and even became a racebike manufacturer. And that's not even getting in to some of his other (in)famous exploits…So join Mat and Peter as Kenny takes them on a wild ride through history, from heated battles on the track to the case of a missing testicle, and discover that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Let's go!With big thanks as always to Brad Baloo from The Next Men and Gentleman's Dub Club, who wrote our theme song. Check out The Nextmen for more great music!

t's October 28th - welcome dear listener to the latest edition of First State Kopites. I'm Paul and I am joined by Daz. We'll do a review of the Everton and Toulouse games and briefly look ahead, given Liverpool play Forest in less than 24 hours. Part One - The Merseyside Derby - 243rd version, Liverpool have 99 wins now. We need a red card and a penalty to beat this lot - not great for a team with title ambitions OR solid win given the international break The key decisions - which hardly feel like the 12 against 10 argument that we've heard. Interesting approach to Everton set pieces - 4 breaks in the first 20, could have picked better passes Everton had an xG of 0.29, if we'd played the final third of the match with 10 (again) do we really think they would have offered much? We had over 2 and that doesn't take account of most of the breakaways. Also bizarre that the Guardian's report decided to single out this game to talk about poor officiating. Young - first player to get 2 yellows against us since 2015 (Sadio Mane) - are the Tomkins/Beesley messages about refereeing bias seeping out there? Penalties at Anfield, fouls on Salah, and now 2 yellows. Sean called out the liability that Young seems to have become and we talked about if he gets a yellow in the first 20 for the cynical foul he usually commits, it will limit his ability to foul. That bit wasn't quite right, as the late challenge on Diaz wasn't great. Tsimikas should have had a yellow - to be fair, if Pawson had a better view of his 3rd foul it probably would have been a yellow. He just commits too many fouls. Konate should have had 2 argued Toffee TV. I didn't think the 2nd was a foul real time but on the replay it's clear that Ibou clips Beto. The first yellow did seem a bit soft though (and one wonders whether the Jota 2 yellows and the admission that the first should not have been given, played into this decision). The penalty is thrown in there as if it wasn't absolutely blatant - but there were 2 non-calls that Marcus Rashford may have been given (one of which the TV didn't even replay). Some bright performances - Gravenberch, Mac Allister and Szobozlai. Salah did not seem very sharp (but still has the most goal involvement in the Premier League), but Jota and Luis Diaz were bright at times. Darwin looked sharp when he came on. Briefly on Toulouse: Weaker line up than against USG. Some great performances - Gravenberch, Jota, Endo Definitely using these as training games - will be even more so for the next 3 you feel. Part Two - another big week: Forest 10am on Sunday (thanks to the UK clock changes) - what do we expect? Forest have dropped points against Luton and Burnley. Won at Chelsea, lost at Man City - 3 straight draws. Awoniyi has been out and they've had to rely on Chris Wood. They were potentially unlucky not to beat Luton (highest XG, most shots of their season). Reds will have Gakpo back but not Curtis, Tsimikas will continue at left back we assume. Strata beginning to develop - where are Forest? Predicted line up and scores Bournemouth in the EFL Cup - Europa League game In other news: Only Mo Salah corner - 7 goals, 4 assists - 144 PL goals for Liverpool in 227 appearances - 195 altogether for Liverpool - well past King Kenny and Stevie G on the all time list. Billy Liddell with 228 in 4th spot is next. Mane is 14th and Firmino 16th in that list. We will be back after the Forest game. Thanks to Daz for joining me. After a bumper opening week of finals action, Bone and Buckets disagree about the flavour of Collingwood's victory over Melbourne and on the actions of one line-stepping Magpie (0:50). Was Carlton's victory over the 'ghost team' Swans really one of the great elimination finals (14:12)? Muzz's beloved Saints succumb to Adam Kingsley's cringeworthy, but successful finals mantra (26:00). And, after the 'terrifying' (and sexy) Lions struck fear into Richie, will King Kenny's critics ever forgive him if the Power go out in straight sets (37:19)?

Kenny Carter was a world-class speedway rider known to his fans as 'King Kenny'. He was box office for the sport - outspoken, cocky and talented. Loved by his supporters, this view wasn't shared by many of his peers in the sport who tended to feel the same as this rider when talking about Kenny: “I admired him 100% as a rider, but as a person, I had no time for him at all'. But then one day Kenny made the headline news for reasons other than his riding - murder.... SCRIPTURE: Mark 10“What kind of a king is King Jesus? He's a King who gives us His whole self, so we can have the courage to give up our whole selves, too. Truly, what's stopping us? What legalism, what cynicism, what self-righteousness keeps us in fear? Do we believe God's love is enough to hold us and shelter us? Are we willing to step into His Kingdom by living with radical compassion, radical generosity, radical hope? We are invited to.” REFLECTION/DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:This series covers the second half of Mark's Gospel (Ch. 10-16), and it begins immediately after the Transfiguration event in Ch. 9. Go back and read through that story: how does it answer the question that dominates the first half of the gospel (i.e. - who is Jesus?)? How does it anticipate the question that will dominate the second half of the gospel (i.e. - what kind of King will Jesus be?)? In the Transfiguration story, the disciples talk about setting up tents for Jesus, Moses, and Elijah (v. 5). This connects to the Tabernacle tradition of the Old Testament, where God “dwells among the people.” But Jesus does not stay in the tent! What do we make of that? What is it teaching us?There are 4 main episodes in Ch. 10. The first has to do with a question the Pharisees ask Jesus about the Mosaic laws for divorce. What does Jesus's answer reveal about the kind of King he will be?The second episode involves the disciples' rebuke of children seeking blessing. What does this episode reveal about Jesus's Kingship? The third involves the encounter with the “rich young ruler.” What does it reveal? Why do you think the man walks away from Jesus's Kingdom? Why do we walk away? What connects these stories? What do they illuminate, together, about how Jesus will reign? We didn't talk about the 4th episode: the healing of Bartimaeus (v. 46-52). Read that story together and put it in conversation with the sermon. Why does Jesus say he can be healed? How can that challenge us, too?

On this episode of "This American Negro," I explore how Queen Bey and King Kenny are trying to grapple with restorative justice in their music. We see that with Beyonce's "LEMONADE" and "BLACK IS KING," while Kendrick focuses mostly on the process of it on "Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers." This conversation has been interesting due to their place in Blackness and wanting to find humanity in our own community. Become a Patron Follow Me on Social Media: Instagram Twitter YouTube
Jim Boardman and Jay Reid are back to discuss the latest in this unforgettable Liverpool season and to look ahead as the Reds get set for Paris. The French Republic will be getting taken over by the Scouse Republic, who'll be singing some proper anthems - to their team and maybe to their King (Kenny) - and hoping to see a third trophy lift of the season. Rumours of a second dog lift back home in the blue quarter of the city were unconfirmed at the time of writing.Prefer to listen to our shows without the ads? Welcome to The AlleyBy the title I bet you can guess what Heider is riding this week. The guys start off by recapping the M(id)CU Doctor Strange movie (2:53). Heider goes on a short rant over his beef with Cinco De Mayo (22:00). The bar geniuses (haha) then go into a small off topic conversation over a 5 drink menu they would serve at a party (25:05). Heider plays The Heart Part V for Miguel and professes his love for Dot (33:13). They also discuss the attempted attack on Dave Chapelle and go over this weeks hypothetical segment.Email us mailbag questions! thealleypodcasst@gmail.comFollow us on social media!Twitter: https://twitter.com/thealleypodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thealley.podcast/Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thealleypodcast

It was another day when the Vuelta a España was turned on its head by a big break, which led to a change of leadership and a second stage win for one of the revelations of the first week. Richard Moore and Lionel Birnie dial up to speak to Daniel Friebe to discuss the tenth stage of the race. Daniel is on the south coast of Spain, the most southerly point of this year's race, and Norway's Odd Christian Eiking, who is in the red jersey tonight, is the rider in this Vuelta from the most northerly place in Europe. We discuss the shake-up to the overall classification and ask whether Intermarché will keep the race lead a bit longer this time. We weigh up Guillaume Martin's chances after he climbed up to second overall and we assess Primoz Roglic's attack, which led to him falling on the descent to the finish. Was the risk worth the reward? We hear from Max Schachmann, King Kenny, Jack Haig, Chris Hamilton, Guillaume Martin and others in a packed podcast. The wind may not have blown particularly hard but it took only a gentle sea breeze and some narrow roads to create some Classic-style racing at the Vuelta a España. In this episode, Daniel Friebe has descended the Alto de la Montaña de Cullera in order to check in with Richard Moore and Lionel Birnie to recap stage six of the race which saw another change of leadership. But which Classic did the race resemble? Would Magnus be Cort or Not Cort at the finish? And what next for Movistar now they have manoeuvered their trident into position behind Primoz Roglic? We try to provide the answers. We also hear from King Kenny, Jack Haig and Jens Keukeleire.
