In 1972 a middling team from the Scottish Premier League played four exhibition matches in Nigeria and distinguished itself so profoundly with its pitiful play (and boorish attitude) that its name became a synonym for stupidity. Grousing about how much your host country sucks while losing 4-1 to a team of amateurs called "Stationery Stores FC" leaves a pretty profound impression, I guess. The comedian through whom I became aware of this fantastic story is Nabil Abdulrashid.  These podcasts are ad-free and self-produced; I value your support on Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/ginandtacos.

This weeks' show is a bit special from a personal stand point, because Ben found out last week that he is going to be a Dad for the first time! Nervous, excited, overwhelmed, stressed, Ben's experiencing it all and then some!A big weekend of football with some entertaining happenings from the Scottish Premier League between Rangers & Hibernian, plus some terrible sportsmanship and plain corruption on show in Belgium with Genk. Bayern Munich stutter again with a damaging loss to Borussia Dortmund which all but seals the title for high flying Bayer Leverkusen. Finally, the Premier League delivered a scorcher of a weekend with goals galore from all over the country with Sheffield United somehow scoring 3, Newcastle coming from 3-1 down to West Ham to secure an unlikely 4-3 win, then Manchester City & Arsenal played out perhaps one of the most boring uneventful games of football in PL history.Follow us on socials! A performance we would have taken at any point this season and a result we would all have taken before the game, however at 2-0 up you have to have a look at how the game gets away from us and ends in a draw. As ever fans balance out views and opinions and some put a large percentage of the blame on one player but others are of the view that we win, draw and lose as a team and that for the second game running our first choice strikers when removed leave a gap in terms of restricting the opposition from getting back into the game. Whatever your view if you wish to voice your opinion on your team then you are welcome to do so - no one is obliged to agree, disagree or comment - this is a conversation not a conversion. Most seem really pleased with Tom and the direction the team is going in some want him full time, others say "lets take our time" and see how things progress - but no one is unimpressed with the change in dynamic coming from the team - well done Tom - fingers crossed it all continues as impressively as it has started. Plus we get to find out what is going on with the Scottish Premier League when it splits in two and how good are the goalkeepers north of the border!!Thanks so much for everyone who contributes and offers their opinion on all things Watfordy and other nonsense stuff!!!COYH!!!!This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Do Not Scratch Your Eyes. For Steven Rinaldi, the path to becoming CEO of a multimillion-pound company has not been easy, and it certainly hasn't been traditional. From moving out of his home at just 15 to rent a bedsit above a Chinese karaoke restaurant in Glasgow, and working as an underage doorman, he tried many other jobs before finding his true calling as the founder and CEO of PRIMAL STRENGTH, which designs and manufactures high-end and innovative weight training equipment for both commercial and residential gyms.Founded in 2016, PRIMAL is one of the fastest-growing strength and fitness brands in the UK and has already embarked on an expansion drive across Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa. In 2022, PRIMAL sold 36,500 pairs of dumbbells, nearly 50,000 weight plates, and kitted out more than 700 gyms. The company has designed and fitted state-of-the-art facilities for leading athletes, including two-time World's Strongest Man Tom Stoltman and newly crowned Olympia Men's Physique champion Ryan Terry, and for major sports teams, including Scottish Premier League sides Rangers and Celtic, and has worked with gym chains including JD Gyms and UFC Gyms.In an in-depth conversation with Unfiltered editor-in-chief Joe Warner, Rinaldi opens up on PRIMAL's origin story and how - in just seven years - it has become one of the UK's most respected fitness brands. He also details the company's aggressive growth plans for the coming years, with acquisitions being a key part of the expansion picture, reveals how PRIMAL plans to stay innovative and nimble as it becomes an established global player in the gym equipment game, and explains why the people you choose to work with on ambitious projects are as important as any other element to the ongoing success of your business. This week on the Pacey Performance Podcast, Rob is speaking to Former Head of Performance at Aston Villa and Rangers FC, Jordan Milsom. Jordan comes on and gives one of the most candid interviews we have had on the podcast. As Fitness Coach at Liverpool and two Head of Performance roles in the Premier League and Scottish Premier League, Jordan has a wealth of experience that he brings to this episode. In the first half of the episode we discuss his time at Liverpook at a Strength and Rehab Fitness Coach and he he developed the knoweldge required to rehab some of the most valuable assets in sport. We then went onto discuss his interactions with staff that were brought in by the manager and how he dealt with that as a club member of staff. In the second half of the episode he describes the role reversal as he became the "manager's guy" as he stepped up to a Head of Performance role at Rangers FC. Was he prepared to make that jump? How did he deal with club staff now that he was a "manager's guy"? And did he deskill in certain areas given that he was managing a department versus being on the ground with player's 24/7. In the final part of the podcast we talk about Jordan's time at Aston Villa and the experience of being losing his job. He describes what he could have done differently during his time at Aston Villa as well as what he and others can do to protect themselves should they get relieved of their duty by a club. If you want an open and honest look at what its like being a Head of Performance at a Premier League club, this is for you. And its not all rosy! Main talking points - S&C coach > rehab coach Gaps in traditional education when it comes to rehab for S&C coaches Rehab coach > Head of Performance What areas were you underprepared in What skills have you deskilled in by making that transition? Being a "manager's guy" What was it like working with a "manager's guy" at LFC? Then on the flipside, how did you cope with being the go-between between the manager and the performance and medical staff? Your experiences of being sacked along with the manager

What a treat we have for you this week. We're joined by massive Hibernian, Scotland, and Manchester United fan Liam Drysdale. Liam's #DesertIslandGoals are jam-packed with stories, drama, and emotion, as we get everything from a Champions League winning goal, to a last minute winner that turns out to not be a winner at all! Liam teaches us all about the Scottish Premier League, the Edinburgh rivalry between Hibs and Hearts, and lists at least 6 reasons why EVERYONE else in Scotland hates Rangers and Celtic. Liam's 5th and final goal is an all-time story of persistent heartbreak, the unfair hope that football continues to give us as fans, and what it feels like when you finally break a 100-year old curse on your team. It's electric. This one's a little longer than usual, but once you've heard the stories, and what they mean to Liam, you'll fully understand why. It's an emotional ride, but one I'm utterly convinced you'll enjoy.
