We got to know Leading Ladies artist Meghan Patrick this morning as we get ready for the big show on 5/15! She talked about keeping a marriage going when you're both musicians, her biggest influences and singing to her dogs.

Her latest film, Same, Again, makes its world premiere at the festival on 25 February 2025.This improvised drama follows a Colombian theatre troupe who join together to bring the play La Casa de Bernada Alba (The House of Bernada Alba) by Federico Garcia Lorca to life on stage. This play follows the impact of men upon women, which then becomes a textual point within Same, Again, as one of the guiding forces behind this staged appearance is a man.Same, Again deals with impactful themes of trauma, showing the power of coercion and control that takes place from the foundational aspects of putting on a play - as we see in some intense and controlling audition sequences which forces actors to put themselves into vulnerable situations - to the final performance. Throughout the play, the actors each expose their own vulnerabilities, insecurities, and exposure of their own past traumas. We've all heard that comparison is the thief of joy, but lately, I've realized how true that really is.    All the time I hear women talking about how they should be doing something because they see someone else doing it, and believe me, I fall into this trap too. I get it.    Why do we think that doing something we don't want to do is somehow going to make us feel happier or more successful?   This episode is a replay of the most popular episode of 2024 from the Leading Lady podcast.  It is about rejecting comparison and instead celebrating all of our unique qualities and successes. Aubrey has earned her Teacher Certification, Positive Education Certification, Coaching & Mentoring Certification, and Directors of Operations Certification.    She started with BBCLC when they first opened their doors in September of 2004 and has a total of 24 years of experience working in Early Education. Aubrey has always been passionate about working with children and making a difference in every child's life that walks through BBCLC's doors. Her mission has always been to create a safe, nurturing and fun environment for all children to learn and grow.    Aubrey currently resides in Glen Burnie, Maryland, with her two boys, Cruz (age 9) and Enzo (age 3). It's so fortunate that Dawson happened to stop by Joey's art class the day she was sketching nude female Devon (Rachael Leigh Cook!) because it turns out she's also a drama student at the college and she's PERFECT to play "Sammy" in his movie...which is starting production mere hours after Dawson casts her! Jen's been busily lining up volunteers. Jack agrees even though he and Dawson only stopped openly hating each other in the last episode. Ty agrees because he's got a crush on Jen -- and she seems just as interested in him. Andie agrees even though her meds (an empty bottle of which Pacey finds in her trash) don't seem to be calibrated quite right. Grams agrees, and yay, it's been weeks since we saw her! Joey agrees, not knowing how uncomfortable it's going to be to watch people she barely knows perform barely disguised scenes from her real life. It's a real bad time for nearly everyone.
