This week we dive into the second season of Bofuri: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. The story largely just continues on with Maple and her guild, Maple Tree, continue exploring new levels and content in the game they play, New World Online. Maple continues to stick to her strategy of only maxing out her defense stat, continually stumbling upon overpowered, game-breaking skills that baffle the game's developers despite the fact that they were the ones that put them in. On thing more notable is that we felt like Season 2 gives more attention to the other guild members.Next Week's Pick: "Goblin Slayer Season 2" Have you had the chance to watch Bofuri Season 2 or any of our previous selections? Artist and author Julia Marshel is someone who sees the world through a lens of wonder and joy. From a young age, Julia discovered that if you look closely, the world reveals an infinite variety of amazing things. That same sense of discovery became a gift she and her wife, Claudia, shared with their three daughters, raising them to see and celebrate the beauty in nature. Her books How Many Will We Find? and My Friend the Maple Tree illustrate this love and her desire to pass it on to others. Our drink this week is a Boulevardier, which I chose because of its beautiful red color. Interestingly enough, the red in Campari originally came from Carmine, which is one of the colors Julia talks about in the episode, yes - bug blood! Nurseries in Virginia and surrounding states have observed an uptick in the past two years in wilt and severe dieback on redbud, maple, and dogwood.  In some cases, almost 100 percent of the stock was unable to be sold due to the damage. Vascular streak dieback is a non-curable plant disease caused by a fungus. Early symptoms of the disease include yellowing and discoloration of leaves and stunting and wilting.  Vascular plant diseases, in general, are hard to treat as they attack the water-conducting tissue of the plant.  A tree responds by blocking its vascular system to contain the disease...Article LinkSupport the show

In this episode we talk about the often-elusive question: When can I start tapping my Maple trees? We start by examining the process by which Maple trees produce maple sap. We then answer the questions: if I tap too early will my taps dry out and plug up? If I start too late, how much sap will I miss out on? We discuss when the average start time is for the Maple sugaring season at different latitudes. We also talk about how the commercial Maple syrup producers handle the variable timing of the Maple sugaring season. We wrap up our conversation by suggesting several key tips and tricks for optimizing your sugaring season, as well as tips from the “old-timers” on what to look for in nature to tell you when to start your tapping season. This past week was busy. Very busy. I found myself immersed in both expected and unexpected projects while trying to gracefully navigate the mixed emotions that popped up along the way. That was not always easy. One of the unexpected bits that happened last week was that we had to have a tree taken down. Letting it go was emotional for me. As I leaned into the emotions, I found myself called to journey and connect with the tree in that way. It was powerful. The tree had a lot to share. The surrounding plants had a lot to share. Spirit had a lot to share. And the process of having that tree removed, with reverence, unfolded in magical ways (I share more of this story in this week's podcast episode). Our relationship with nature is important. It is a point of connection to the rhythm of life, to our inner worlds, and to Spirit. In this week's episode of the Meet Me in Sacred Space I sink deeper into some of the wisdom my maple tree shared along with the experiences I had in navigating my emotions around saying goodbye to this tree. Here are a couple things you can expect in this episode: Leaning into our emotions, allowing them to flow, be felt, and to be expressed in meaningful ways. Another message from Black Tourmaline for the month of May. Creating space for Spirit to create magic and bring things together in ways we could not otherwise see as possible. How to be fully present with all that we feel and channeling those feelings into creative expression. The importance of reverence in our relationship with nature. And an invitation to join me for my upcoming 11-day Into the Forest Journey. Want to learn more about my upcoming Into the Forest 11-day Journey?
