Send us a textFive years ago, Warren and Patrick sat down over Mission BBQ to plan a podcast where HR professionals could finally say what they were really thinking. Today, they reunite to reflect on how both Jaded HR and the human resources profession have transformed over half a decade. The conversation takes a nostalgic turn as they reminisce about cubicle life and team shenanigans—from hanging Superman figures above desks to commiserating over challenging employee interactions. Their candid discussion reveals how some of their early HR opinions "aged like milk" when confronted with real workplace discrimination cases, showing the professional growth that comes with experience.Technology emerges as a central theme throughout their discussion. Patrick shares how his role has evolved away from traditional HR toward IT responsibilities, while simultaneously developing AI tools that could potentially automate aspects of his own job. This tension between embracing efficiency-driving technology while worrying about obsolescence reflects challenges facing the entire HR profession. As Warren quotes HR thought leader Tim Sackett: "You're not going to lose your job to AI. You're going to lose your job to someone who knows how to use AI."Looking forward, Warren teases upcoming content including their popular "Office" rewatch series where they analyze the iconic sitcom from an HR perspective. Episodes like "Diversity Day" offer particularly rich material that highlights how workplace norms have evolved dramatically since the show first aired—content that "no major network's going to touch" today.Whether you're an HR professional, someone who works with HR, or simply enjoy workplace stories told with unfiltered honesty, this anniversary episode perfectly captures why Jaded HR continues to resonate after five years. Leave a review, support the show through Patreon, and join Warren and Patrick as they continue helping listeners "survive HR one what-the-fuck moment at a time."Support the showWe want to hear from you.Text us or leave a voicemail (252) 564-9899email: feedback@jadedhr.comWant to:* Share a dumb employee question* Share a crazy story* Ask us a question* Share a best practice * Give us feedback Our Link Tree below has links to our social media sites, Patreon, Apple podcasts, Spotify & more. Please leave a review on your favorite podcast player and interact with us online!Linktree - https://linktr.ee/jadedhrFollow Cee Cee on IG - BoozyHR @ https://www.instagram.com/boozy_hr/

I love to talk. I love to write. But sometimes less is more. Starting with today's episode, I am going to shorten these descriptions up and allow the content of the podcasts to speak for themselves.Nearly two years in the making, Mission 24 did not disappoint and the impact will be felt for years, even lifetimes for those in attendance. A bold statement I know but lives were changed forever outside of Madison Wisconsin last weekend as nearly 150 Veterans, Active Duty Service Members, First Responders, Law Enforcement Officers, and civilians came together around archery and the outdoors. From the private tour of the Vortex facility to the 3D archery shoot at Blackhawk Bowhunters to the sporting clays shoot at Oregon Sportsman's Club to the Beast Mode Archery Endurance Run and Chris Kroeze concert at Tyrol Basin, it was a weekend for the ages.So many friends, so many supporters and so many sponsors (thank you Vortex Optics, Mission BBQ, Lottza Mottza Brew Pub Pizza, 1st Phorm Outdoors and The Kniestedt Foundation) made this event possible. Keep late April of 2024 open as we are already planning for next year. If you have never been to an HHAUSA weekend before, this podcast will have you hooked and punching your ticket for Wisconsin faster than you can say cheese curds. So sit back, relax and enjoy the conversation as editor Logan Chartand and I talk about the biggest gathering in our history. For more information about HHAUSA and how you can support our mission, visit www.hhausa.orgTo purchases HHAUSA hats, shirts, challenge coins and tumblers, visit www.hhasports.com

Is it hot enough for you??! Today's topics include: A lot of schools let the kids out early becasue it was too hot...don't school's have air conditioning?? And if they don't, why not? - being that it is 2018 and all; next up, Steve Overholt (Regional Director of Operations at Mission BBQ) joins us to talk about the restaurant chain, Mission BBQ, and the specials the company is offering to all first responders - as a way of saying thanks - on the anniversary of 9/11; AND, the big topic of the day - Nike and Colin Kaepernick. Sure, Nike has a past of supporting controversial athletes....but due to their recent stunt with Kaepernick, Nike shoes and shirts are being burned around the country; which finally leads us to Jemele Hill - who apprently thinks she is an expert on race. Hear the dumb comments she made regarding Kaepernick and Nike.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This is a quick bite from the Fort Myers Police Department's 10th annual Cops and Joggers 5K. They organize the race to support the Fallen Officers Memorial Foundation and the Brotherhood Ride to honor officers lost in the line of duty this each year. Mission BBQ was at the race and the General Manager of their Fort Myers, Florida location, Adam Palladino, took time to talk with us about why the founders are so passionate about supporting first responders, military, police, and veterans. Adam also gave us a peek behind the delicious flavors of Mission BBQ. These restaurants are located all over the United States and if you come to one, their passion to serve those who serve this country is evident. You can taste their dedication to creating delicious dishes in every bite of their food from brisket to pulled pork and sausage as well as amazing sides like mac and cheese and desserts. You should stop by if you ever see a location or if you find them supporting a community event like we did. Thanks for watching. RUN We are so excited to feature the Cops and Joggers 5K in this episode. Fort Myers Police Department in partnership with Fort Myers Track Club hosted this nighttime race to benefit the Fallen Officer Memorial Fund and Brotherhood Ride. It is a cause near and dear to my heart because I have been married to a police officer for 19 years. I talked with the Race Director, Lieutenant Jeffery Bernice about the race. The Fallen Officer Memorial Fund supports families of officers lost in the line of duty and the Brotherhood Ride honors officers who have made that ultimate sacrifice. This is the tenth year of the race and it was moved to an evening race to entice more runners and create a family fun night. It delivered a fun experience for all. I highly recommend this race for anyone living in the Southwest Florida area. We got goodie bags that included a runner blinking light, a pen, a sample of BioFreeze (a great friend for sore muscles after a race), a t-shirt with a great tagline, and a keychain with the Cops and Joggers logo. EAT At the Cops and Joggers 5K, we got the chance to try Mission BBQ. They are on a mission to support the Military, Police Officers, and Firefighters as well as other worthy causes. They were serving up Pulled Pork and Pulled Chicken Sliders along with Macaroni and Cheese. Amazing flavors! There are locations all over the United States and we highly recommend visiting one to try their amazing BBQ. We have a Quick Bite coming up soon that features an interview with the General Manager of the Fort Myers location, Adam Palladino. DRINK Finally, after we ran our race and accomplished our goal, we needed to explore the new Octoberfest Brew launched by Bury Me Brewing in Fort Myers. Danse Macabre Marzen was the first that we tried. It was a good version of an Octoberfest beer. This funky little place has a great vibe and wide selection of beers. Yes, we got a flight and will share the other beers on Quick Bites soon! This was a great journey around Fort Myers. Let us know where we should go next!
