Yasmin talks about artistic inspiration for everyone's favorite underwater art! Fin Pin Shop is officially the center of the universe at every trade show (Shark Con and DEMA to name a few) and of course they're in popular dive shops and ocean-themed gift shops from sea to shining sea! This isn't just a scuba diver wonderland of art and trinkets, Fin Pin is made and supported by Marine Biologists (like Yasmin and Jaclyn), conservationists and artists. They have a massive online and social media presence, donate to a MULTITUDE of wildlife and aquarium charities, plus use smart and sustainable packaging and materials! How does one dominate an industry with pins, stickers, and other fun goodies? Yasmin Greene walks me through the artistic process, hurdles and excitement of dominating what many would consider a niche business, and a crowded market. Yasmin runs Fin Pin along with her “partner-in-crime” Jaclyn (interview a few episodes back S3 Episode 11)  They combined forces, producing a constant flow of ocean-themed fun (oh, and of course plenty of Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou themed merch to go around!) Probably my favorite part of the interview was her explaining their soft spot for the “underdog” species' (like the Batfish and Blobfish!) and even use a Mola Mola fish as their main logo. If you can turn the Batfish and Horshoe Crab into fun… I think you may have something there. This interview is sure to impress and entertain any ocean, marine or aquatic enthusiast.

Divers Alert Network has funded a study with Duke Center for Hyperbaric Medicine to research the safety of Full Face Snorkel masks. They have recently released their results. The December issue of Scuba Diving Magazine is now available. The December issue is their gear guide edition. Check it out. A couple of paddle boarders out in CA were treated to an encounter with a very large Mola Mola - the ocean sunfish. The Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach, FL is definitely a bucket list dive. Just off of Interstate 95 and just north of West Palm Beach it is easy to get to and easy to park and set up your gear. You can pick up tanks, weights, and a dive flag from Force-E dive center just minutes from the bridge. Diving is from the Phil Foster Park. The park has a full bathroom along with an outdoor fresh water shower to rinse the sand and salt from your gear. Your dive should start 30 to 45 minutes before high slack tide. You will get in at least a 90 minuted dive where you will see all kinds of fish and critters. With water temperatures in the 80s and visibility between 50 to 70 feet, you will love this dive. The Blue Heron Bridge is most definitely a place that you will want to dive multiple times and even get in a night dive.

Scuba diving is a topic that has been brought up on the podcast before, though not discussed in depth. My guest today has had the opportunity to dive at some incredible places and has some amazing stories to share! For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I talk with PADI scuba instructor and marine conservationist, Caitlin McCall. Caitlin has logged hundreds of dives around the world! She started off her diving journey at a young age. Initially getting certified at the Blue Hole in New Mexico. Later on, she made her way over to Australia and dove at some amazing locations while living as an expatriate. Some of which include; the Great Barrier Reef and the Rainbow Warrior shipwreck site off of the coast of New Zealand. Now she resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she continues to log more dives. Along the way, Caitlin also became more aware of some of the threats that our oceans face. This led her to take on marine conservation and start-up Eco-Conscious Diver. A brand through which she seeks to educate others on ways in which they can contribute to help our oceans. She does this through online courses, a podcast, and leading others on scientific dives. In this episode, Caitlin tells us more about her story. She shares some of her amazing adventures with diving around the world, as well as a couple of misadventures! We also have a discussion on marine conservation and go over some of the steps that you can take in order to do your part to help our oceans! Jason Fondis is a dive professional, co-owner and manager of Blue Corner Dive Nusa Penida, Indonesia. Join us as we chat about the phenomenal aquatic biodiversity on his doorstep, hilarious island life insights, and a thrilling manta rescue caught on camera which can be viewed on our youtube page.Blue Corner Dive Nusa PenidaI first visited Nusa Penida on the recommendation of a good dive buddies of mine and I was pleasantly surprised to find it still relatively new to the tourism circuit.  Getting there is a very easy process, landing at Denpasar airport, Bali and with a short taxi ride to Sanur beach some 35 minutes away, you have a great number of ferries to choose from for a 35 minute to just over 1-hour crossing to dock at Nusa Penida. Nusa Penida is rapidly growing with many new businesses being built, including a variety of dive shops, resorts and centres.  Accommodation on the island also varies from a few top-end resorts to basic bungalow rentals.  My personal favourite that I use on every visit is an Indonesian owned resort some 10 minutes walk along the beach from Blue Corner Dive.  Ring Sameton Resort Hotel is Indonesian owned and I find the staff extremely helpful no matter what questions I have asked them.  They can arrange a taxi to collect you from the pier or organise scooter rentals should you wish to have more freedom to explore.  The Resort itself has a good-sized pool, surprisingly large air-conditioned rooms for the price and it is located within a distance of the busier areas but equally far enough away from the nightlife noise. Blue Corner Dive is sandwiched between the beachfront and main road.  It comprises of the main building (the office and classroom), a large kit cleaning area, an even larger kit storage building and a beautiful pool area with large shaded seated areas alongside.Diving with Blue Corner Dive Nusa Penida is exceptionally enjoyable, all dives are co-ordinated around the day's tides and as such you can be diving early doors or having a lazy lay-in prior to heading out on their boats. During high season the dive shop runs two boats and the team arrange dive groups to best suit the needs and skills of their guests. Groups are small, nothing more than 4 unless requested and the dive guides are very informative too.We have to point out that the biodiversity surrounding Nusa Penida is impressive, with lots of macro, dolphins, various types of sharks including Threshers and Hammerheads, Mola Mola, Manta's and even the odd Whale every now and then. You can never be sure what you are going to see when diving Nusa Penida, but we are sure you will enjoy your time with Blue Corner Dive Nusa Penida.Find out more at www.scubagoat.com

Haha is the new mini series that I started because I have had a shitty week and I wanted something to laugh about. That's it. If you had a shitty week as well, skip the first 5 minutes of the episode and laugh and learn with me about the Mola Mola fish, an animal so stupid, natural selection seems to have forgotten about it. If you have had a good week, listen to the first 5 minutes as well, to learn about all the things going wrong in the Netherlands. I promise, afterwards, you will need a good laugh.
