Rick & Morty S3E9 on “The Hunt” as a complement to Artemis' song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y201T3OXZg . Some more “obscure gods” not featured are listed here: https://mythnerd.com/most-random-obscure-and-unknown-greek-gods-and-goddesses/ The “outsider” & production values questions (to be revisited in future episodes), posed by Kids of Widney High https://www.youtube.com/c/TheKidsofWidneyHighOfficialYouTubeChannel DJ Poseur has an ongoing, similar beef w/ DJ Keep Roomie about how much to praise & how to appreciate the Young@Heart Chorus https://www.youtube.com/user/youngatheartchorus Maybe we'll hash out ironic listening, whether outsider originals or outsider covers of hits are “better” in a future scheduled digression. DJ Poseur mentions a preference for Har Mar Superstar over both of this episode's picks (for being very slightly more subtle & better produced/more listenable), though he's too famous to be featured. He furthermore appreciates the non-ironic indie sound of Sean Na Na, but these two music videos are, in his humble opinion, a perfect combination of the sex appeal & fantasy pop stardom this episode's picks aspire to: “Prisoner” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgHEeYIV62w & “DUI” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSMCNLpgZ5o DJ Poseur is a snobbidy snob snob.

EPISODE 131 HALLOWEEN AT THE BEACH ON LOCATION T. Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas stayed in the beach-resort town of spooky Cape May, New Jersey and recorded live the What Are You Afraid Of? Horror & Paranormal Halloween Special 2019 from the haunted Marquis De Lafayette Hotel. Cape May is one of the most haunted towns in the world, and the horror authors bring you two hours of local ghost stories they collected in town. Fox arrived early and spent two days listening to ghost stories from the locals—stories such as the faceless ghost and shadow man of Congress Hall, the gray lady of Washington Street Mall and the spirit children who still run in the halls of the Marquis De Lafayette Hotel—and Phil and Fox hardly scratched the surface of the haunted history of this two century old Victorian town. Cape May was a wonderful place to visit during October, and the seaside town celebrates Halloween with stage shows, events for children and ghost story tours. Fox & Phil record the show from the haunted Marquis De Lafayette Hotel, where many of the town residents came to watch and share their paranormal experiences. Fox plays the ghost story from his visit to General Lee’s battlefield in Gettysburg, narrated by English folksinger David Walton, and Phil’s charming horror story, The Pumpkin Carvers. Plus some creepy music to set the mood. It’s been a compelling end to our fourth season of What Are You Afraid Of? Horror & Paranormal Show, and we celebrated Halloween this year in style with two hours of local ghost stories in haunted Cape May, New Jersey. As músicas usadas neste episódio foram "Faster Does It" por Kevin McLeod, e "Let me Heal you" por Monk Turner. EPISODE 99: GHOST TALES FROM FORT MIFFLIN As part of our countdown to Halloween 2018, horror authors T. Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas return to one of America’s oldest haunted sites, Fort Mifflin. Fox organized their annual horror reading, HORROR AT THE FORT, with members of the PA Chapter of the Horror Writers Association, Nick Cato and new author, Michael Garrett, who sat in as Fox’s co-pilot for this episode. After talking about the incredible day of readings, Fox and Michael share some popular ghost stories of the Fort. Then, they hang out with paranormal investigators from R.E. A.P. Investigations, Kris Reap & Paul Dixon, who talk about some of their ethereal encounters during the evening’s public ghost hunt, the nature of proper etiquette for paranormal investigators and the existence of demons. The spirits even follow them into the bathroom! English folksinger, David Walton, narrates two new ghost stories from the book Folklore of the New Jersey Shore by Richard J Kimmel and Karen Timper. And to get you in the mood for Halloween, they play their favorite spooky ballad from Monk Turner, “Halloween Night” and a punk song from Ed Schrader's Music Beat, “I Think I’m a Ghost.” Only three more episodes until Halloween 2018! www.whatareyouafraidofpodcast.com

Jared and Tiffany were at Palm Springs Comic Con this week; but the rest of us had an awkward gauntlet of conversations from shirtless guys with toothbrushes, enzymatic bug goop, and throwbacks to other films we’ve watched, to the common gutter we are so oft to find our minds in, all rounded out by a hilarious new Julia’s Junk segment. This week’s episode had several more Buddies in chat and starts with another unofficial edition of Jared’s Culinary Corner (Sous Vide edition!) before devolving into a heaping helping of absurd shopping-related improv chaos. Yes, that's right -- we watch Shrek AND perform it! (Or at least...try.) So many more friends means so much more fun! Let us know what you think of this improv game on Twitter. Did you love it? Terrible automatic subtitles are read in this week’s episode as we watch the characters get put in quite literal sticky situations (which disgust Julia). On the plus side, there is some surprisingly good cooking advice from Jared and a whole lot of “What the Fudge” that keep us from getting a total brain-freeze. Oh man Julia, "Discord's TwitchCon" really??? To clarify what she meant, Tiffany and I (Jared) were at Discord's Pre-Party on Thursday night and then TwitchCon for the rest of the weekend. We took plenty of photos so check those out on our Instagram and Tiff will have a video on our YouTube channel too! Anyways its hard to write these since I wasn't here for the podcast. Does anyone read these anyways? Well, Julia picked Stitches, a movie about a clown or something, so I'm sure it was bad. But, check out Buffer Buddies Instagram account! Julia is helping us out by posting there and actually doing a pretty good job... I'm suspicious. -Jared Next episode on 11/1/17 will be Ice Cream Man Recordings take place Saturdays at 9 PM PT in our Discord: https://discord.me/udld Vote for movies on our reddit: /r/UpDownLeftDie/ Thanks to Monk Turner for letting us use his song for the into. HEY GUYS WHAT'S UP! Welcome to the first episode of The Dunk Punks! Ah, we kid, we kid. We sure do have a good time on this show thing. We watch the classic, and filled with things that make no sense, Total Recall! So Arnold Schwarzenegger fans... just keep doing what you're doing you're doing a great job, but also check out this episode, maybe? Editors note: Sorry for the blown out audio on my mic. Still learning things. Also, if anyone is going to be at TwitchCon look out for Tiffany and me. Nothing but regrets for this movie. Not even sure why I (Jared) suggested it. This is my own undoing. BUT HEY! We still had a good time! So if you're thinking of watching this movie with some friends. Put the movie in your DVD player and then throw it in the pool. Cause 1. why do you still have a DVD player? Get a NVIDIA SHIELD or at least a Blu-ray. Gosh. Then spend the next 2 hours just talking to your friends, or if you hate them: sitting in science. Because almost anything is a better use of your time than this movie. ANYTHING. Just go to sleep. You like sleep. Just do that. Everyone go to sleep for like 2 hours. ok. whatever. Editors note: Charter Spectrum internet has been having massive outages all over the nation and my internet was badly affected. While I totally forgot to publish this on time, I couldn't anyway because I was having an internet drought and it all gone done dried up! I will try to get back on normal posting time but on Wednesdays (or Tuesdays if I'm feeling like it) next week! Sorry if you need this. You should be tweeting us more. Episode 23! Jared and Tiffany were running their booth at the 2nd annual Nerdbot-Con the kids run the show... I'm sorry I let this happen. Hello and welcome to the Just the Job Podcast – a podcast about the jobs other people do. This episode I spoke to Jon Sellick, an English teacher in a secondary school in Merseyside. We spoke about the pressures of impressing teenagers, dealing with the workload, finding that magic hook in a lesson, being a constant in students' lives, English versus Maths, and stealing the show (quite literally) in school drama productions. We also tried, and largely failed, to defend our cushy amount of holidays. You can listen to all other episodes by visiting justthejobpodcast.com. There, you’ll also find the bank of questions I ask my guests, so you can play along at home, as well as links to my various maths & non maths projects. If you want to get in contact, then on Twitter I am @mrbartonmaths. Finally, all the lovely music throughout the episode is written and performed by Monk Turner. I hope you enjoy the show! Hello and welcome to the Just the Job Podcast – a podcast about the jobs other people do. This episode I spoke to James Livermore, a neurosurgical registrar, better known to the likes of me as a brain surgeon. We talked about 12 hour operations, how it feels to save a life, breaking the worst news of all to families, and why a steady hand and good medical knowledge are not the most important things to be good at this job. James is a lovely guy with a fascinating job, and I enjoyed every second of this interview. I hope you do too. You can listen to all other episodes by visiting justthejobpodcast.com. Hello and welcome to the Just the Job Podcast – a podcast about the jobs other people do. Now, at work I like to think of myself as a bit of a fashion icon. One of my shirt-tie combos has been likened to snake crawling up a tea towel. So it was fitting that this episode I spoke to Georgina Walsh, a costume designer who has worked on many high-profile TV advertising campaigns, and is currently the Wardrobe Supervisor on The Graham Norton Show. We spoke about dressing a mediaeval army and a chat-show icon, where grass stains on TV really come from, working 16-hour days, what it is like to have to shop until you drop, and the less glamorous side of the job - who needs a cat-walk in Milan when you can have a quarry in Oldham? Hello and welcome to the Just the Job Podcast – a podcast about the jobs other people do. This episode I spoke to Noel Hunwick, the co-founder and Director of Marketing of the award-winning Inamo Restaurants. In a wide ranging discussion, we talked about what it takes to bring a concept like interactive dining to reality, coping with stress, celebrity diners (and there's a couple of very decent name-drops here), running marketing campaigns, organising your day, interviewing employees, dealing with customer complaints, and loads more. Whatever your age or profession, this really is worth a listen. Hello and welcome to the Just the Job Podcast – a podcast about the jobs other people do. In what is being billed as a clash between two of the most macho jobs any man could have, this episode me, a maths teacher, spoke to Marty Royal, an operational firefighter with Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. Falta menos dun mes para o noso quinto cabodano e aínda menos para as eleicións galegas. É o momento dos anónimos, é o momento de que fale a maioría calada. É case o único momento no que os políticos se lembran de nós e reparan en que existimos. Ide votar, ho! O noso voto é a nosa voz, a voz da xente da rúa, a voz da xente anónima. Sometimes you’re in your own country, your own home, and you know in your bones you don’t belong. That feeling pushes you to change something. This week we bring you four stories of people who don’t quite belong in the world where they live, and who take matters in their own hands to construct their own belonging. A very young girl finds a sense of belonging while running away from an angry mob. A student creates a bridge between the Jewish and Irish sides of her family. Seven gender-defying divas share what it means to belong to yourself. And a young man discovers how to prove you belong, when the numbers are against you. Host: Leslie Nguyen-Okwu Producers: Will Rogers and Natacha Ruck Featuring: Justine Beed, Carla Lewis, Eileen Williams, Josh Hoyt, Winona Azure, Raya Light, Macy Rodman, Peaches Christ, Alexis Blair Penney, Heklina, Sissy Spastik, Mathu Andersen, and Cher Noble. photo via flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ganesha_isis/4439563089 Music used during transitions: Welcome Wizard, Monk Turner, Johnny Ripper, Zachary Cale, Mighty Moon, & Ethan Schmid, Blue Ducks
When is wildness on our side, and when does it have to be eliminated? We’re not be talking about wilderness but wildness. We examine wildness as both a place of terror and a place to find meaning. And, as you’ll hear later, we don’t have to go into nature to find it. We’ll hear a story about what happens when you venture into nature for the first time. We’ll hear from a graduate student who holds some nontraditional ideas about his clothing and is a modern day outlaw because of it. We’ll introduce you to someone who studied Muay Tai in a gritty gym in Oakland. He has to be wild, right? We meet a wilderness rites of passage guide who tells us what happens when we don’t have elders, and finally, we’ll meet Tea. She may or may not raise wolves.
