I had Amery Bohling on my podcast today and I really enjoyed this one. You get the sense of who she is both as an artist and as a normal human being. She's such a bubbly, fun person and at the same time very a serious artist. Amery is most well-known for her Grand Canyon paintings and I've been very familiar with her work for over a decade. She's had her own studio/gallery in Scottsdale, at the heart of Main Street and now she's being represented by a couple of new galleries, Parsons Gallery in Taos and my gallery, Medicine Man Gallery in Tucson. It was lovely  to get to talk to her about art, but also to get to know her as a person. She speaks on her background, her artistic process, what motivates her, and how she got to where she is today. So, again I really enjoyed this interview and it was very interesting to learn about Amery. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. She's a lovely person, and an incredible painter. This is Amery Bohling on Art Dealer Diaries Podcast episode 312.

Helen Amery is a coach from the UK who has created the Enlightenment Summit, along with a program following the summit where participants will explore this wonderful topic.  As one of the speakers in the summit, I enjoyed interviewing Helen on her journey and how she came to be doing what she does. Her scientific background in chemistry at university, followed by years in the corporate world, is a fascinating backdrop to the study of enlightenment and eventually a great expansion of ways humans can meet themselves.  You can find Helen and her enlightenment summit at: https://wildfigsolutions.co.uk/2023/12/15/enlightenment-summit/ Her book is here: https://thoughtfulraven.co.uk/the-complete-book-of-awakening/ ********************** Grace Bell, facilitator of The Work, assists people to identify and question their stressful ways of looking at life.  She offers Year of Inquiry, a vibrant membership community of inquirers Sept-June each year.  Grace also has a special love for those suffering from eating issues including disordered eating (disordered thinking) of all kinds--having suffered from this behavior and thought/feeling process herself and finding an unshakable peace within around eating, food, health and behaviors with eating.  Grace works with all kinds of compulsions, habits and addictions as they are all the same thing: a pull to some behavior, substance or activity in order to help us with our stressful feelings and thoughts. As Byron Katie offers us (founder of The Work); when we believe what we think, it creates unnecessary suffering. When we question what we think, we feel lighter and less serious about what is. We even begin to laugh. We notice who we really are is peaceful already, a human being living life as best we can--learning, growing, loving.  In the public sessions on this youtube channel, we have all-group inquiry sessions called First Friday Inquiry, we have interviews with practitioners of The Work, we have Eating Peace videos (on the eating peace playlist) and we have individual sessions in The Work by courageous people willing to be recorded for Peace Talk podcast and this channel. Thanks to everyone involved in what is shared here on this channel, as it is great service to others in the world who find their way here and who are curious about life without "believing" thought all the time.   In all-group sessions and solo sessions, we begin with a judgment...and move into the four questions and turnarounds. Willingness to be real and honest with your thinking is the first powerful step in The Work.  No one ever has to share when attending Friday Inquiry, and thank you when you do.   For the Work With Grace programs and more information, and to get on the Grace Notes mailing list for updates and sharing of all kinds around The Work, please visit www.workwithgrace.com To receive notice of Eating Peace programs, videos and vlog posts, visit www.workwithgrace.com/eating-peace and join the mailing list. Her passion is for all of this to be practical and inclusive of all of life. Recognising who we really are, and including all the human conditioning that we've feared, results in a life lived in alignment with the peace, love and joy of our nature. Eric and Ana dive into a book about strange places in Wisconsin, where Ana has the book, Eric randomly picks pages, and they discuss wherever it lands. They end up discussing the mysterious orange moose you can spot by I-94 and Highway 54 in Black River Falls aka “the world's most unusual ornament.” They then head to the Viking Motel in Buffalo County with the oversized viking and its legend, the “world of miniature buildings” in Logan's hometown of Pardeeville, and a church haunted by old Norwegian ghosts south of Amery. Several places in Wisconsin lay claim to being the “UFO Capital of the World,” and they explore the legends in Elmwood, Belleville, and Poland (the town in Wisconsin, not the country in Europe.) Eric and Ana also discuss Wisconsin native Chris Farley's unusual grave in Madison; the “Rock-in-the-House” Museum in Fountain City and the crazy stories that follow; Manitowoc's experience with a spacecraft crash and the festival that has sprung up around it; unusual architecture with the Pebble House in Port Washington; and the Mustard Museum in Middleton, and more. Let it inspire you to seek out some strange - and cool - places across Wisconsin! The Cabin is presented by the Wisconsin Counties Association and this week we're featuring Richland County; https://bit.ly/3va2f8FThe Cabin is also presented by Jolly Good Soda, available in all your classic favorite flavors that we remember from childhood. Under Pressure: Courts and Lawyers Trying to Deal With It with Diana Manning

The pressure on trial lawyers, judges, plaintiffs, defendants, and court systems is only increasing. Take New Jersey as an example, where the backlog of cases nearly quadrupled in a year between February 2020 and 2021, the first year of the pandemic, according to NJ Spotlight News (NJSN). The state is also facing a historic shortage of jurists, “leading to overworked judges, huge case backlogs and nearly 7,000 defendants in jail without bail, some 500 of them for more than two years despite a law that essentially requires a trial within two years for anyone detained,” NJSN reported. One court official told the state Assembly Budget Committee about the impact the pandemic had on the court system. “Buildings were closed to most in-person trials for more than a year, although other proceedings continued virtually. The business closures and high unemployment led to a housing crisis that resulted in more than 46,000 pending cases that involve landlord-tenant issues,” NJSN reported. “But with all courts open and staff back to work in person, it is impossible to eliminate the backlog of cases with so many open judge seats.” The problem is attributed to the state Senate, where the process is mired, even though the governor is making appointments.According to the National Counsel for State Courts, backlogs at one third of U.S. courts increased by 5%.  It would have been worse had courts not held virtual hearings. Using the Court Statistic Project database, the numbers reveal in stark terms the impact the pandemic had in the year it came to America. Dispositions dropped from 43M in 2019 to 28M in 2020. Bench trials fell from 3M in 2019 to under 2M in 2020. Jury trials plummeted from 49K in 2019 to less than 19K in 2020. The Washington Post reported that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court declared a judicial emergency and extended deadlines. Virginia's Supreme Court suspended nonessential proceedings. The Iowa Supreme Court pushed back criminal trials and the Alabama's Supreme Court suspended in-person proceedings. New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice Stuart Rabner warned that the judicial shortage “comes with a price.” Listen to my interview with Diana C. Manning, Managing Principal, Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C., for the fallout from the judicial shortage and swelling case backlogs, and what needs to be done to dig out. An experienced and award winning complex commercial litigator, Diana is co-chair of the firm's business and commercial litigation practice group. The Complete Book of Awakening. Interview with authors Helen Amery and Sara Priestley. https://thoughtfulraven.co.ukHelen Amery  I guide others in their awakening and enlightenment. After my own journey through corporate HR, then psychology-based coaching, I realised there was something more fundamental going on. It opened the door to something I never thought I'd have in my life - a spiritual understanding. It led me to the recognition of who I really am - who we all really are - awakening. And to how we can experience life in a much easier, more light-hearted way - enlightenment. My passion now is to bring that to more people with a practical, 'normal' person approach.  Sara Priestley  Sara had a career in corporate IT before leaving to become a massage therapist and then Pilates teacher. These reinforced for her the inward path of knowing who we are for ourselves, which led her to The Three Principles and then into nonduality. She now hangs out with her little cat colony, drinks a lot of coffee, helps clients solve life problems, supports people who have been hurt by cult-like groups, hosts her local poetry society's online gatherings, reads, writes, teaches nonduality, serves on the board of the Association for Spiritual Integrity, explores emerging voices in this field, and plays with this expanded understanding of who we are and how it shows up.

Today, my good friend Amery, joins me on the podcast and shares her health journey.  She is now able to look back and see how she struggled with post-partum depression for a while after the birth of her daughter and it was her focused intention and asking for help that is what made the difference for her health at that time. Amery also shares about her battle with her autoimmune disease and embracing the lifestyle modification she needed to walk back into the healthiest version of herself. Amery has a passion to help serve new mothers that are struggling with nursing and aren't sure what to do next. Her company, BLISS, is a in home service that focuses not only one the nursing infant, but the mom as a whole and what offers help to make sure that all the needs of mom and baby are being met. Please listen to today's episode and share with all your new mom friends or ones that might be having their first baby soon. Motherhood is an incredible role but is also overwhelming. Let's help normalize that asking for help when you are struggling post-partum isn't weakness, but the bravest thing that any mother can do for themselves and their child. I have always had a passion for working with breastfeeding moms. I have been assisting with lactation throughout my entire nursing career. Over the past 2 years, I have met so many moms just out of the hospital who are in complete distress over breastfeeding. Instead of being overwhelmed with happiness and beaming with joy over their precious new baby, I am often met with tears, self-doubt, and looks of sheer panic. I would do the best I could with the very limited time I had to help them feel some ounce of confidence and reassurance when it came to nursing their baby.Seeing their faces light up and their bodies relax after a successful consult was PRICELESS. It was in those moments that I realized there was a great need for community breastfeeding support beyond the typical quick (and often overwhelming) hospital visit from the lactation consultant. Breastfeeding is natural, yes, but it has to be learned. It can be a beautiful and successful journey if a mom is given the proper support and encouragement. So, BLISS was born. The name is not only an acronym (Breastfeeding, Lactation, Infant feeding, Support, Services), but a word that depicts calmness and peace. I believe that every mom deserves the chance to achieve BLISS in breastfeeding their baby.I offer Postpartum and Return-to-Work consultations. At each visit, clients will receive one-on-one care and attention that includes a thorough hands on mother-baby feeding assessment, education/helpful tips/resources to promote success, and a complete individualized plan of care relating to your specific breastfeeding goals.

" When she talks about the passing of her father, she isn't looking for advice or guidance, she just wants someone to listen.  Rhiannon shares how it's important to not just "assume the story" but instead "breath into the  "uncomfortableness" and be an ear to listen. Rhiannon has a podcast called The Gen- Z tea and you should all give it a listen.

Society is set in ruins, people scratching at an opportunity that they are told they will never see, streets filled with crippling poverty while the “Big Man” spends their time feeding their own network versus the people of the community. That is a notion that is unfortunately seen around the world. People are shut away from opportunity based on their social class left to deal with the cards they were dealt. However, there is a Warrior within us all waiting to become a Hero.   Carl Amery is a man who has experienced a lot in such a short amount of time. Carl is a Veteran in the British Army where he retired as a Sergeant Major after serving for 18 years, he is the Co- Founder of Clients In Abundance (Director Of Sales), Mentor, Speaker, and a coach.  Today's episode has special guest Carl Amery. A man of true perseverance who made the decision to take action against the adversities he found himself in. Today's focused conversation is based on the differences of a Visionary and an Integrator and how similar they both can be. Carl speaks about the poverty he grew up in and how he built his way up by implementing a plan into action. Jeff and Carl both discuss why you need to be identifying the people you surround yourself with and how they benefit you. But also recognizing the investment you need to make in yourself.    Favorite Quote:  “I just doubled down all my strengths and I let the other strengths get taken care of by the people who are strong at these naturally and that's a big mistake people make. They try to make themselves something they're not and that can burn them because they're like why do i feel like shit all the time? It's because you're trying to be someone you're not.” -Carl Amery          How to connect with Carl:  Website Instagram   How To Get Involved: Addicting to Winning connects listeners through stories that prove why mindset matters. Jeff Brekken was working a 60-hour week on his family's farm by the time he was 10. When he wasn't helping with the harvest, he was at the hockey rink. Jeff's early life experiences taught him he needs to be either all-in or all-out.In 2000 he started a single-family home construction business and by 2008 he was looking for the next big thing. Jeff founded the Blue SKy Benefit Solutions & Rise Above HR/ Recruiting on top of a lifelong passion for helping people. Through this show, Jeff will take that passion one step further. Hardcover. A panoramic history of the savage combat on the Western Front between 1914 and 1918 that came to define modern warfare. The Western Front evokes images of mud-spattered men in waterlogged trenches, shielded from artillery blasts and machine-gun fire by a few feet of dirt. This iconic setting was the most critical arena of the Great War, a 400-mile combat zone stretching from Belgium to Switzerland where more than three million Allied and German soldiers struggled during four years of almost continuous combat. It has persisted in our collective memory as a tragic waste of human life and a symbol of the horrors of industrialized warfare.
