Danielle and Sandra catch up on their limited knowledge of football and the fact that CVS does sell flowers for those who wait until the last minute on Valentine's Day. Then Danielle discusses Oscar Pistorious, an Olympian who fell from grace after shooting his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp to death. Initially, he claimed to have defended himself against a potential burglar, but this was proven false when more and more details emerged on what happened that night. In this week's episode Sandra talks about haunted house stories that can be found on the popular website Reddit. From seeing a man in a hat to hearing strange noises, these houses are not for the faint of heart. This particular time, the podcasters discuss: starting a Jewish supergroup, Venmo murder comedy bits, the middle name vs. middle initial morality test, and while you were sleeping haircuts. The threat of an Oscar Pistorious musical looms near the end of the episode.

Following the sad news this week that Cyrille Regis passed away at the age of 59, Caroline Barker speaks to his nephew Jason Roberts about the inspiring role Cyrille had on many lives but also how he shaped his own footballing career. Jason pays tribute to his hero and how he will remember Cyrille. On 14th February 2013, Reeva Steenkamp was killed by her boyfriend, the once idolised Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorious. At the time, he was sentenced to six years. A term prosecutors argued was shockingly light. Just under three weeks ago, the South African court increased Pistorius's jail sentence to 13 years and 5 months - a move Reeva's family welcomed. On the day she died, Reeva was due to give a talk at a school on violence against women and children - this was an area she was passionate about. So much so, in 2015 her mother June Steenkamp launched the Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp foundation to raise awareness of abuse against women and children not only in South Africa, but around the world. We hear from June Steenkamp on how life has never been quite the same since that tragic day. Bilal Fawaz is 29 years old, he has represented England six times and has the London middleweight title to his name but now he faces deportation back to Nigeria by the home office. Bilal explained to the BBC’s Azi Farni who went to meet him that he feels lost, like he’s trapped in prison on a dog leash. He believes without boxing, he would not be alive and how he has had to cope from a young age without parental guidance as his mother died when he was eight and he has never known his father. Levi Siver has reached incredible heights in more ways than one which no other person has ever achieved. The 37 year old professional windsurfer became the first person to ever windsurf down a snowy mountain in Japan, braving temperatures as low as -13 degrees. Caroline Barker speaks to the so called, King of Style to see where this latest inspiration came from. Lisa Blair completed the epic Sydney to Hobart journey within three days. It was her third time she had managed to complete such a feat but it was the first time in 16 years an all-female crew contested Australia's longest ocean race. It capped off a momentous year for the Australian sailor, who became the first woman to circumnavigate the Antarctic in July which took a gruelling 184 days. She tells Caroline Barker how she managed to achieve all of this and how her next goal is to encourage more women to follow her footsteps and take up sailing.
Fun facts that you’ll learn today: Wilton Felder played that iconic bassline on “I Want You Back,” by the Jackson 5. Wilford Brimley, famous for diabeetus and whatnot, did not. Jaco Pistorious, influential jazz bassist, was born in Norristown, PA. Oscar Pistorious, murderous blade-legged Olympic sprinter, was not. A proper term for a cluster or group of teenagers would be: Snapchat. (Yo, did you see that snapchat of teens? Let me apply this annoying filter to the photo I took of them.) I guarantee there is at least one new thing you learned here. For that, you might consider donating as little as $1/month to our fine establishment. Here is the patreon link. Or, you could just have a chuckle and spread the love. You will hear, “I Want You Back” by those five Jacksons, and also “I Like to Move It” by Reel 2 Real. Not Will.I.Am. Or Sacha Baron Cohen. Or other people. We present to you, “We Want You Back (LlewDellyn 1.1).”
A sad John Prescott. A naughty Oscar Pistorious. A smug Ian Duncan Smith and a Chocolaty Anthea Turner. Episode 55 is scandalous in more ways than one, and you get to find out a bit about the gang's pre-teen romances. Everything your heart desires. So long as you're willing to pay for it. The Correctional Services Department has confirmed that Oscar Pistorious who was jailed for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp has been recommended for release on parole. Pistorious will be released on 21 August 2015 after serving only ten months of his five year prison term. The recommendation to release him on parole was made last week by officials at Kgosi Mampuru II last week. Meanwhile the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein says once various legal procedures involving the State and Pistorius's defence team have taken place, it could hear the appeal in November. The State will appeal against Judge Thokozile Masipa's decision to convict Pistorius of culpable homicide but acquit him of murder for shooting dead his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp
What happens when you run out of luck? You lose your job, your marriage, your home, your arms and legs, the respect of your parents, and your will to live, what happens then? If you've ever lived on planet Earth, then the answer is obvious, this is where desperation takes over and horrible things happen. This week we present the sad story of Sean Petrozzino, a mild mannered "great kid" that grew up into a world of bad luck and it ended up consuming him and making him a true monster. After killing the two people who loved him most he led authorities on an 8-day manhunt that would end tragically. We also briefly cover the case of Angela Simpson, a convicted psychopath who loves her status and wants to tell you about it. The audio of her interview is chilling and will question your ideas about whether some of us are worth trying to reform. Then we talk to Cathy Russon from CourtChatter.tv who fills us in on the status of the Oscar Pistorious and Justin Ross Harris cases, and also fills us in on the biggest high-profile case(s) of 2015, that of the Aaron Hernandez murder trials. Apparently, we'll be seeing two separate trials, one for murder, and one for double murder. It's going to be a hell of a show.
When you love Hip Hop you never know who you’ll run into when you’re “creepin’ through the hood.” For our very own C.O. a shopping trip turned legendary when she picked up a Grammy Award winner and dope MC in Ms. Lauryn Hill. Beautiful and gracious, a picture was not too much to ask for L. Boogie and we reciprocated with a musical trip down memory lane for the former Fugee. Masta Talka and Angry Engineer joined in to discuss the panic over Ebola and to unveil a new feature: “Douche Bags on Parade.” Yep, we said goodbye and good luck to Michael Dunn’s murderous ass; speculated on Oscar Pistorious’ fate and wondered how an unarmed kid would fight a cop with a gun in a police cruiser. Hmmm. At least the Hip Hop wasn’t questionable. Tracks from L. Boogs, birthday boy Wyclef Jean, the Beastie Boys, UMC’s, the Wu, Snoop and Dre took center stage. Snoop, you were right. Stacey Dash, you were wrong. Um Mr. President they’ve declined your credit card – AGAIN!!!! It’s Boom Bap Radio.
Paralympian, Order of Aaustralia medal winner and Big Brother housemate Sam talks about that fight between Travis and Ryan. What was said?? Thank goodness the Scottish referendum is over… This week I have found one of my ancient classic novelty songs which I composed for The Liverpool Health Authority. “The Exercise Song” went down really well….….it aint rock and roll but it’s close…. ....speaking of Liverpool did you see the drama about Cilla?...Rory Storm with black hair?...and The Beatles looked nothing like…a little bit more effort to detail would have been better. The BBC coverage of the Oscar Pistorious trial was ridiculous…........ Remaining on the subject of getting ripped off…my car tax is due…£285 a year… Sunday Night At The Palladium is back….which will sort the wheat out from the chaff… it’s now O.K. to have salt…it’s SUGAR that’s gonna see you off. .....and finally there was a short announcement regarding a space satellite which has landed successfully on a planet 250,000 miles away….and hey the surface was rougher than they thought…
