Last time on ST:TNGeez, Not Another Star Trek Podcast, Worf had resigned from Starfleet to fight alongside Gowron in the Klingon civil war. Honestly, if you want to know all the ins and outs of this bloody conflict, you need to listen to the last episode because it's . . . It's a lot. Suffice to say that it's newly ascended chancellor Gowron vs. the Duras family who are being backed by those sneaky old Romulans. Those little stinkers are smuggling supplies to the Duras-es (or Duras family), and Picard just ain't having it. Being the flagship and all, the Enterprise leads a coalition of 20 starships to form a blockade along the Klingon/Romulan border. Try sneaking your cloaked ships past that, Romulans! Of course they do, but little do they know that one of those 20 ships is under the command of everyone's favorite robot, Data! If you ever wanted to see how your favorite robot would drive one of these Galaxy-Classes - well… Robot drives! All this and we haven't even mentioned that Romlan Tasha Yar lookalike, Commander Sela! Will Worf finally be treated with respect now that he's among his own -- the Klingons? Will Picard find out the secret behind Commander Sela's origins? Will Troi and Bev get any more than ten lines each in this episode? Find out in this exciting all-new episode of ST:TNGeez, Not Another Star Trek Podcast!Even more available at: https://tngeez.com
Jean describing her book of poetry “Sandprints At Ebbtide” I hope the readers of “Sandprints at Ebbtide” will find these poems, songs and Scripture passages a source of faith and inspiration in confronting the painful life lessons of aging, loss, perceived failures and even death, both for themselves and those they love. Faith guides us to a place of comfort and peace as we reach for meaning and consolation. These poems explore my personal life challenges in the light of God's grace and redemption. Mother Julian of Norwich summarized all this for me in her still timely quote centuries later, “All shall be well, and every manner of things shall be well.” And St. Paul reminds us that “He whose power is at work in us, is powerful enough, and more than powerful enough, to carry out His purpose beyond all our hopes and dreams.” * The poems, Redemption I and Redemption II launch us into these themes which continue to unfold throughout. It is my wish that you discover joy, meaning and purpose in each and every one of your life lessons. Link to buy Jean's 2 books: https://tinyurl.com/56zxts7e Last Thursday, April 19th, 2024 I lost my best friend of almost half a century, Barbara Price Negro. In the midst of my grief and pain, I wrote a poem in her memory, which I would like to share here with my FB friends. In Memory of Barbara Somewhere on the other side of the veil Beyond that mysterious Golden Gate A party is happening, a gala celebration A time of music and dancing, and the Merriment of reunited loved ones. There is the tinkling laughter of many angels And joyous bells chiming everywhere All because someone special has arrived Even as we mourn our loss. We need to have her back But far above they are chanting her name. Our view is not the same. Dearest Barbara, now safe in the arms of God, we say As we treasure your memory A floral bouquet of love in many blooms And many ways. We will not forget you Memories of you in ever present contemplation Your life with a loving commemoration. By best friend of almost half a century, Jean Petersen, 'Til we meet again. The Klingon Way is to fight for podcast supremacy! Our cultural bridge crew returns after a hiatus to pick up the pieces of the Klingon civil war between Gowron of the Large Eyes and the Duras sisters of the Large ... Attitudes. There may be too many storylines to keep track of though, as Picard pitches a tachyon pulse field using what's left of the fleet depleted by the Borg attack. (Canon!) Data experiences android racism from the guy sniffing nasal spray in Ghostbusters, and Worf repulses the advances of Romulan-backed boobies. Oh, and we learn how the heck Tasha Yar turned into a Romulan and it's all Picard's fault, as Guinan tells us. It's great to be back! Redemption II! A lot's happened since we've been away! Picard's starting a blockade, Worf thinks Klingons aren't so cool anymore, the Duras sisters try to eat Worf's chin beard, Data gets discriminated against AGAIN in a society that supposedly has completely eliminated racism, and I guess Yesterday's Enterprise Tasha had a daughter? Will any of it have any significance whatsoever? I dunno, I guess we'll have to watch and see! Looking for a stylish, compact wallet that can fan out your cards with the push of a button? Star Trek TNG S5E01 Redemption II
Serialized TNG, Part 1. Starting in 2006, a series of DVD collections were released under the name Star Trek: Fan Collective. These collections included episodes across all live action Star Trek series that had aired up to that time, centered around themes like Klingons, Q, and the Borg. We're starting a new series on Earl Grey to discuss episodes of The Next Generation included on these collections and to look at them as if they were serialized story arcs. In this episode of Earl Grey, hosts Amy Nelson, Justin Oser, and Joe Keegan, talk about four episodes of The Next Generation that were part of the Klingon-centered release of the Star Trek: Fan Collective DVD collections. The episodes discussed are "A Matter of Honor," "Sins of the Father," "Redemption," and "Redemption II." This is part of a continuing series on Earl Grey to talk about episodes from the Star Trek: Fan Collectiveand how we see those as part of a serialized storyline. Gowron. Although he only appeared in four episodes of The Next Generation, Gowron is one of the most unforgettable Klingon recurring characters that we see in the show. With his bulging eyes, threatening smile, and fighting prowess, Gowron becomes the Klingon Chancellor and appears during some of the most important moments in this period of the Klingon Empire. In this episode of Earl Grey, hosts Richard Marquez, Amy Nelson, and Justin Oser discuss their impressions and thoughts on Gowron's appearances in The Next Generation and the importance of his character to the show. The Next Generation episodes discussed are "Reunion," "Redemption," "Redemption II," and "Rightful Heir."
