Why do anomalous experiences so often arrive in the wake of trauma? And what happens when the people who understand that connection decide to use it as a weapon? This episode of Inquiry follows trauma as the hidden throughline connecting UFOs, consciousness, psychological operations, and the engineering of belief at scale. Kelly Chase starts with how human perception actually works, drawing on Donald Hoffman's "The Case Against Reality," James Madden's umwelt and über-umwelt from "Unidentified Flying Hyperobject," and Jeffrey Kripal's Filter Thesis, then grounds it all in the predictive processing model of the brain and Karl Friston's free energy principle. The picture that emerges is unsettling: trauma doesn't only wound a person, it makes them porous, loosening the filters that hold consensus reality in place. From there the conversation turns toward how that vulnerability has been exploited. Welcome to Paranormal Spectrum, where we illuminate the enigmatic corners of the supernatural world. I'm your host, Barnaby Jones, and today we have a very special guest joining us:Trey is the current Director of the Anomalous Studies and Observation Group (ASOG). ASOG focuses on investigating incidents and places of extreme strangeness from a multidisciplinary perspective. ASOG strives to balance the experiential nature of an occurrence with the data-driven collection of empirical information. They feel the experiencer is just as important as the experience and approach research from this perspective.He grew up in Atlanta, and while in high school, he was awarded the Eagle Scout award, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. While a Scout, Trey earned the 50-Miler award three times for backpacking and paddling trips exceeding 50 consecutive miles. In 1982, he was awarded a scholarship to attend the prestigious American Wilderness Leadership School in Jackson, Wyoming.In 1983, he graduated from Norcross High School just outside of Atlanta. He entered college at the University of West Georgia (UWG) and decided to major in psychology. UWG is home to a world-renowned psychology department and one of the few universities offering degrees with a humanistic and transpersonal focus. At the UWG psychology program, Trey had the opportunity to study with luminaries such as William Roll, Mike Arons, Don Rice, Chris Anstoos, and others.While studying at UWG, Trey was awarded a US Army scholarship while an ROTC cadet and was also inducted into two honor societies: Pi Gamma Mu and Omicron Delta Kappa. In 1987, Trey completed his bachelor's degree in psychology and also earned a minor in anthropology. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the US Army Reserves and branched into Military Intelligence.After college, Trey worked as a private investigator investigating insurance fraud and also attended the Army Intelligence Officers Basic Course at Ft Huachuca, AZ. In the spring of 1988, he was certified as an All-Source Intelligence Officer (35D). He was assigned to the 372nd Military Intelligence Detachment and later the 337th Tactical Exploitation Battalion. An injury ended Trey's military career; he is now a disabled veteran. He has been a member of the US Army Military Intelligence Corps since 1988.In 1989, Trey entered Federal Government service as a Security Specialist. Keith Bodnarchuk, President and CEO, and Andy Carmichael, VP of Exploration of Cosa Resources Corp. (TSXV: COSA) (OTCQB: COSAF) (FSE: SSKU) , both join me to review the news released on March 24th and today on April 13th which announced anomalous radioactivity in multiple drill holes and completion of the winter 2026 drilling program at the Company's Murphy Lake North Project (MLN). Both MLN and Darby are joint ventures between Cosa and Denison Mines Corp. (TSX: DML) (NYSE American: DNN) and are located 3kms east of IsoEnergy's Hurricane Deposit, and 10kms west of Cameco's Cigar Lake Mine and respectively, in the eastern Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. Cosa is the operator of both projects and holds a 70% interest with Denison holding a 30% interest in each. Highlights Radioactivity intersected in three drill holes Radioactivity remains open in multiple directions including for at least 600 metres along strike to the east and 600 metres to the west within the larger kilometre-scale Cyclone alteration zone MLN26-013 intersected 5.0 metres of anomalous radioactivity up to 13,900 CPS1 in the upper basement approximately 260 metres vertically from surface Depth of the radioactivity is shallow at approximately 260 metres vertically from surface Cyclone trend structural corridor is over 100 metres wide and hosts significant alteration consistent with major eastern Athabasca uranium deposits MLN Winter Drilling Approach Winter drilling at MLN followed up structure and alteration intersected at the Cyclone trend in summer 2025. Five drill holes totaling 2,015 metres were completed during the program with three drill holes intersecting anomalous radioactivity. The first drill hole of the program, MLN26-013, intersected the strongest radioactivity including a 5.0 metre interval of continuously anomalous radioactivity in the upper basement. Two holes were completed to directly follow up radioactivity in MLN26-013. Two additional holes were completed to define underlying geology ahead of summer drilling and follow up another radioactive intersection. All drill holes were completed on Section 3200E. Drilling determined the Cyclone trend is underlain by a package of graphitic and non-graphitic pelitic gneisses and quartzite over 100 metres in width. The full width of the mineralized structural corridor is unknown as additional prospective graphitic rocks may lie north and south of current drilling. Next Steps The Company and its Joint Venture partner, Denison Mines, will be finalizing summer plans in the coming weeks. The drill remains on site for rapid startup when drilling resumes this summer. Assays for all winter drill holes remain outstanding. This episode, our guest Len Filppu comes to us from California. His story takes us back to Brockport, New York, in the summer of 1967. Sixteen-year-old Len watched a huge orange, flame-covered craft drift low across the sky, followed by a small white orb weaving behind it. He wasn't the only witness. Police officers, university staff, and other locals said they saw the same thing that night. A newspaper report even mentioned the trailing white light, confirming what Len and his friend saw. The sight stayed with him. Years later, after working in politics, film, and Silicon Valley, he still remembers its quiet, intentional presence. More strange events followed, a poltergeist encounter, powerful coincidences, and other moments that widened his view of reality. This episode, our guest Len Filppu comes to us from California. His story takes us back to Brockport, New York, in the summer of 1967. Sixteen-year-old Len watched a huge orange, flame-covered craft drift low across the sky, followed by a small white orb weaving behind it. He wasn't the only witness. Police officers, university staff, and other locals said they saw the same thing that night. A newspaper report even mentioned the trailing white light, confirming what Len and his friend saw. The sight stayed with him. Years later, after working in politics, film, and Silicon Valley, he still remembers its quiet, intentional presence. More strange events followed, a poltergeist encounter, powerful coincidences, and other moments that widened his view of reality. If we're honest about it, there are probably a lot of times when God doesn't seem to be responding or doing what we think he should be doing.We're going to be reading a section in Matthew's gospel (chapter 11:1-19) where Jesus addresses some questions that John the Baptist has asked him from his jail.Why do you think John is asking Jesus if he's really the One they're waiting for? Consider where John is, imprisoned by Herod, getting word that Jesus has been going to banquets with tax collectors…basically Herod's employees. John had said Messiah would come the ax of God and an winnowing fork to separate the faithful from the unjust…which was sort of a different picture than feasting with oppressors.John was waiting for Messiah to execute judgement on unfaithful Israel and Rome. What does Jesus point to as the focus and evidence that God's kingdom is indeed present and at work? How can that help us to understand the unexpected ways in which God works in our world? How can that shape our mission?Jesus makes a few cryptic comparisons between John the Baptist and Herod and the rulers of Israel at that time. We'll get deeper into the specifics of it on Sunday – but the comparison forces us to see the difference between people's expectations about the force Messiah would use on his enemies…and what Jesus actually did.Jesus then compares his critics to spoiled children who refuse to get on the same page and play the same game. They criticized John because he was too austere, they rejected Jesus because it looked like he was having too much fun. There was no pleasing them. So what does Jesus point to in answering his critics in v19? As Christians, we will always have people criticizing or questioning our faith. Following Jesus' lead, what should we be pointing to as evidence that God is at work in our efforts?I'm really looking forward to digging into this text on Sunday! In July 2021, researchers conducted a week-long scientific expedition off California's Catalina Island to study unidentified aerial phenomena using visible, infrared, and radiation sensors. While most anomalies were resolved through analysis, one unexplained event—captured around 4 a.m. on July 16—remains outstanding, marked by a dark object and possible coincident ionizing radiation. This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we are joined by Dr. Matthew Szydagis is a member of the physics faculty at the University at Albany State University, NY, pursuing experimental particle astrophysics, in particular direct laboratory detection of dark matter particles, underground. Since 2019 Matthew has also been a member of UAPx, which led the 2021 research effort off the California coast, detailed in a new paper, “Initial Results From the First Field Expedition of UAPx to Study Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena."
