Standup NBC winner Rene Vaca was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in southern California. After his father was incarcerated, he started his own landscaping business at the age of 15. That came to an end when he was accepted to the University of California, Merced. Vaca has since been pursuing his dream in stand-up comedy and recently just won the 16th annual StandUp NBC competition! Rojo Perez is a New York-based comedian. Originally from Puerto Rico, Rojo moved to Florida for college and began performing stand-up comedy at age 20 in local clubs and small cafés. In a busy 2021, Rojo made his network debut on The Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon, was also featured in Comedy Central's Tight Five and served as a story editor for an upcoming Netflix show. Aida is a native New Yorker who earned her B.A. in Environmental Studies from Mount Holyoke College and her M.P.A. in Earth System Science, Policy, and Management from Columbia University. She has been teaching for 16 years at four different high schools and is currently in her second fellowship as an MƒA Master Teacher. She comes from an entire family of teachers including her grandmother, mother, sister, and husband.
