And now a rambling and brief review of "Teen Titans: The Judas Contract" by Marv Wolfman & George Perez, the classic story in which the Titans must deal with a traitor in their midst.
Longtime animation writer Ernie Altbacker joined the show to talk about his long body of work. He recently wrote for the 2021 DC film "Injustice." He also wrote four other films in the DC Universe series of animated films "Justice League Dark," "Teen Titans: The Judas Contract," "Batman: Hush," and "Justice League Dark: Apokolips War." He's also written for many animated series including "Spider-Man – The Animated Series," "Green Lantern," "Static Shock," and "Justice League Action." In this episode, he talks about the dark nature of Injustice and Apokolips War and the challenges of writing classic characters in more adult plots. Also, he addressed how Superman's powers make plots around him particularly difficult. Follow Ernie on social media @ejaltbacker.

When there's trouble you know who call ~ TEEN TITANS!That's right, this week we're reading Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, a huge nostalgia bomb for those of us who grew up in the CORRECT era, when Cartoon Network's Teen Titans cartoon was airing. Just imagine if the show was the most 1980s thing ever made, and about twice as confusing, and you'll have a good idea of both the highs and lows of this iconic comic arc!Veronica's theme for this season is teenage superheroes. Monte's theme is Magneto stories.Next week we will be reading Magneto: Not A Hero, issues #1-4. This week we read Magneto War, a story in which Magneto holds the world hostage and demands to be given territory to turn into a sanctuary for mutants. This story has everything: chaotic story-lines, an annoying manic villain with a nonsense plan, and unintentional sexy-time with clones. Join us for our first dive into the psyche of Magneto, the Mutant Master of Magnetism. This arc alternates books, so follow this order if you are reading along:Uncanny X-Men #366X-Men vol 2, #86Uncanny X-Men #367X-Men vol 2, #87Magneto Rex #1-3Veronica's theme for this season is teenage superheroes. This week, we discuss a film everyone saw last year; The Babysitter directed by McG. It's a horror comedy, a genre that can be pretty hit or miss. Where did this one land? Tune in to find out. We also discuss No Way Out (1950) and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. marriedwithclickers@gmail.com
In this week's episode, we are discussing two DC Animated movies. Those are Teen Titans: The Judas Contract and Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay. The Judas Contract is an updated version of the Marv Wolfman/George Perez story, where the Teen Titans find themselves going up against Brother Blood and Deathstroke. Hell to Pay is a mostly original story centered around a "Get Out of Hell free" card that was created in Gail Simone's Secret Six run. We then end the episode with a rant by myself regarding what I believe is the most mind-boggling thing in the Star Wars movies. Spoiler, it's not something that was introduced after 1995.
On this episode of A Little Nerd on the Side, I got to talk with Kari Wahlgren. Being a teenager is hard but it's so much harder when the worlds deadliest assassin is out to capture and/or kill you for a terrorist organization hellbent on harvesting your powers. Judas Contract is based off of the Teen Titans story of the same name and for the most part the movie lives up to the highly acclaimed story. This is an enjoyable movie with great voice work and the action to match it. Check out our review of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
