The Five Tibetan Rites is a system of exercises reported to be more than 2,500 years old, which were first publicized by Peter Kelder in a 1939 publication titled The Eye of Revelation.  The Five Rites and traditional Tibetan yoga emphasize "a continuous sequence of movement". The practice of these exercises is based on the body's energy. According to practitioners, the body has seven energy fields, or vortexes. Being completely receptive and sensitive to real inner help just like in my youth, I experienced an amazing comeback to youthful health in 6 months after many years of long suffering once I began the Five Tibetan Rites exercises as I am also experiencing an increase in the other areas as well. What is essentially needed for a productive, satisfying life and the best way to attain it without wasting precious time and energy is found through inner guidance as the body's energy centers are activated by the life energy flow of the exercises. Awakened to clear, thoughtful awareness that opens up potential rewards, this orderly method will make the steep, uphill climb more like a walk in the park.Author Bio:  Born in October 1961, Illinois,  grew up in Land of Lincoln, Sangamon County, loved playing outside and exploring the woods,  later living on twenty acres out in the countryside taking care of huge lawn and oak trees on property. Moved to California after high school to be with love interest that didn't work out. Served three years in the Air National Guard and was honorably discharged. Attended college part time and graduated with honors from El Camino College with AS in Fire Science.  Worked with Torrance Fire Department for a year as an auxiliary firefighter and worked at several other jobs over the course of forty years while in California. Married and had two wonderful daughters, and divorced after 15 years. Finally moving to Arizona, giving up the dream of finding happiness there after suffering one loss after another. Hello word nerds! Today I'm interviewing Ken Zak about writing poetic prose and the process behind his book, The Poet's Secret. Kenneth Zak is an aquatic nomad of Bohemian-Polish ancestry. As a lad, he dove into Lake Erie in search of a silver coin. Decades later, he surfaced off the island of Crete with a tale filled with mystical sea turtles, sunken treasure and a young woman’s search for a reclusive poet, his muse and the myth of eternal love. A summa cum laude graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Business and concentration in Art History, Zak went on to receive his JD and follow the waves to California. He eventually shut down a successful law practice in quest of a deeper purpose, freeing his creative self in a mountaintop village in Crete where he began his debut novel, The Poet’s Secret. Since his time in Crete, he continued work on the manuscript and his poetry in Bali, Costa Rica, Thailand, Cambodia and South America. An avid surfer and free diver, Ken’s passions also include reading, music, ocean swimming, the Tibetan Rites and yoga. He currently serves as General Counsel for a large private brokerage company and resides in San Diego, California. In this episode, Ken and I discuss: Juggling real life and writing.
