PFL had the weekend to itself amid a post-UFC 300 break. The fights were solid and — blessedly — without major judging controversy. Scott and Dan have six Contested Rounds to break down, and for whatever reason the co-hosts were not on the same page as frequently as usual. But the biggest officiating outcry came in the form of a perceived early stoppage in Brendan Loughnane's win over Pedro Carvalho. Was the trigger pulled too soon? A highly-anticipated rematch is going down this weekend at UFC 277 in the main event, as Juliana Peña and Amanda Nunes clash once again for the bantamweight championship. As if that weren't enough excitement for one night, the UFC is also showcasing much-anticipated non-title bouts between Alexandre Pantoja and Alex Perez, as well as phenom Magomed Ankalaev vs. Anthony Smith in the main card opener. Bonus excitement comes when Welterweights, Alex Morono and Matt Semelsberger are pitted against one another as the Featured Prelim, to wrap up a stacked Preliminary card. Matt and Jim recap all the action from Saturday's UFC Fight Night headlined by Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns, and the latest UFC news including their thoughts on what should be next for Jon Jones. First, Matt explains why, as a Jiu Jitsu man, he enjoyed Billy Quarantillo's performance against Spike Carlyle Saturday night. They also go over Gilbert Burns' dominant performance against former champ Tyron Woodley and offer their take on what's next for the two Welterweights. Then, UFC Flyweight Brandon Royval joins the show to discuss why he was disappointed in his UFC debut on Saturday despite getting a submission win over veteran Tim Elliott. He also reveals why he got so emotional during his post-fight interview while talking about his day job. UFC Featherweight Billy Quarantillo also calls in to share his thoughts on opponent Spike Carlyle's decision to walk away from a dominant position with time still left in the round during their match and who he thinks his next opponent should be. Finally, Matt and Jim close the show reviewing their (not so great) picks for the main card of UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs Burns.
Our new series concentrates on our favourites. Not necessarily the best but the ones that have made that emotional connection with us the most. The first episode of the series is boxing welterweights. In the modern era that division is hot with talent and down the years, some of the biggest ever names haver competed at 147lbs. Many historians will bring up names like Sugar Ray Robinson but neither of us are old enough to have ever watched him fight, so our favourite list has been compiled of fighters from our generation. Expect an argument over Mayweather and Pacquiao, a unanimous agreement on a Goldenboy and an emotional decision that included a British fighter. Jorge Masvidal and Darren Till put on a show for the crowd in London at UFC Fight Night 147 at the O2 Arena. Real Boxing Talk takes a look at the Welterweight division. We break down Errol Spence Jr., Terence Crawford, Keith Thurman, Mikey Garcia, Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, and of course Manny Pacquaiao. It's a loaded division, we actually had to work. One of us might have even sweat.

Episode 22 of Early Stoppage features undefeated lightweight boxer and now jr. welterweight contender Ryan “Blue Chip” Martin. Ryan has many accolades from his youth that helped him develop into who he is now. As an amateur he won 202 fights, won the U19 Gold Medal in 2010 and racked up 12 national championships. Currently he is 22-0 and has entered the second installment of the World Boxing Super Series for the Jr. Welterweights. He is the former WBC Continental Americas Lightweight Champion as well as the former WBA Inter-Continental Lightweight Champion. This was a great episode where I get to really pick his brain regarding why he switched trainers, what it’s like training with GGG and him being involved in the World Boxing Super Series Jr Welterweight tournament for the Muhammad Ali Trophy as well as WBA and IBF belts. Ryan has accomplished a lot but feels his work is just beginning. I hope you guys enjoy this episode.
