You know I'm all about the "real talk," right? So, here it is: I'm setting a goal for 2025 that's got my stomach in knots. And guess what? You're smack dab in the middle of it. Why am I telling you this? Because every big leap I've taken, every crazy-successful (and let's be honest, some not-so-successful) experiment I've tried... You've been there with me. And this year's goal? It's the biggest yet. The Goal: To transform 1,000 midlife women, corporate drop outs and aspiring entrepreneurs from surviving to thriving through the Aligned AF Community membership. But here's the kicker – I can't do it alone. Nope. This goal is as much about you as it is about me. Here's why: You've told me of your desire to get to $10K months regularly, while not burning the candle at both ends, and everything I've planned is designed to tackle this head-on. We're talking signature offers that generate 80% of your total revenue with 20% effort; strategic freebies to help build your email list of potential clients; and ways to partner and collaborate with other dynamic biz owners that have the same midlife freedom goals as you, and it's going to be a game-changer. But I need to know if I'm on the right track. So, here's where you come in: Your Turn: What's one thing holding you back right now? …a challenge you're facing…a skill you're dying to learn…a fear you can't shake? Hit "Reply" and spill the beans. I'm digging into every response because this goal isn't just about hitting a number; it's about creating real, tangible change for you. This is our year. Let's make it epic. To fill your health & fitness coaching business, you have to know what to say to close the fitness sale. Or, rather how to open a conversation. And it's not what will come out of your mouth first... unless you've rehearsed it after thinking about it. When you're: On a phone call In a consultation Doing a presentation (webinar, live talk) What should your flow be? (on the webinar? in the consultation call?) How long should you allow your calls to be? How much time do you spend on each part of your call? How do you start? How to set your prospect at ease? How to take control? How do you help someone make a decision? So that you can: overcome objections before they come up and then if they do… Know what to say when they say: I have to think about it I have to ask I don't have time I don't know if this will work/for me So, It's Your Turn: What do you say when someone asks, “What do you do?” So that you are not just a commodity: Personal trainer Health coach Midlife health coach You don't improve by telling someone you're an online personal trainer, or a midlife weight loss coach. You haven't mastered this art of engaging prospects if you say you're just adding adjectives like a midlife or menopause health coach. Even for my Flipping50 Fitness Specialists, I would never want them to answer, I'm a Flipping50 menopause fitness specialist. Not until far into a conversation. Know why? Because last year, there were no #midlifehealthcoach uses to speak of, this year there are hundreds calling themselves that. (some of them who go so far to steal client testimonial content and call it their own!) So what? Did it make someone better, knowledgeable, relatable so they can get the sale because they've called themselves that? Or stole a testimonial? No. The ability to transform your answers into something powerful that makes a listener say, oh, that's me! Or oh, that sounds just like my wife! Or, that sounds just like so many of my clients! (Says my hairstylists/my dermatologist/my dentist) That is what gets you the next step. The curious other person who isn't just waiting for the polite conversation to be over. Where it goes wrong In too many cases, when you say… oh I'm a personal trainer or a health coach, they just assume that they know you by their own personal experience with a trainer or health coach. There's no need for more conversation. If you say Medical Exercise Specialist, Pilates instructor, Yoga Teacher, it's the same. Nothing – not even an identifier of “midlife women” or “menopause” helps you there. You friend, are burying your opportunity not to tell people you're award-winning fitness instructor, or international presenter, or certified or master degree holding.. which are all commodities and labels that mean nothing about your ability to relate to your next prospect. It's not about you. It's about them. You can build credibility without listing your degrees, certifications, and it definitely can't be done by giving yourself a label. Resonate with You? If you want more, meet me for a special masterclass. I'm sharing 3 of the marketing mistakes I see trainers and health coaches unintentionally do every day. If you work with midlife women – and who doesn't or won't – they make up 80% of personal training clients, I'll also be sharing 3 of the most common mistakes trainers – even experienced ones are making with their clients. (or themselves) ATTEND FOR FREE What I say. (in episode!) Can you describe yourself this way? In a way that makes someone say, oh that's me? Not with a cold blank label that is generic? I am super excited whenever I get to talk with Will Parker, and today is no different. Today we are tackling three questions that principal listeners have shared with us from our podcasts, covering these topics: What to do if or when your teachers give you the cold shoulder about learning something new. How to manage student dynamics in competency-based instruction. Ways to measuring student growth in Social Emotional Learning settings. Listen-in for the complete conversation. Questions for Jethro and Will: 1. My teachers give me the cold shoulder when I try to introduce them to new ways of teaching. What should I do? Jethro and I discuss the following: Modeling for teachers Observation of other teachers What is he/she doing well already? Praise first, then instruct. Lead with the question, “Where do you want to grow?” Creating an enviornment where teachers ask for help Celebrating innovative teaching Learning to say yes before saying no 2. How do you make sure that students who struggle don't feel embarrassed or ashamed that they aren't working with their peers? When competency-based, what happens?... We discuss this question with suggestions about: Defining expecations so that students measure against standards, not other students They are already in different places! Your expectations matter in their perceptions... Help them identify where they are good. And celebrate! It’s not about competition with peers, but competition with themselves. 3. How can Social Emotional Learning success be measured? We respond with the following: Discover the importantce of self-reflection. It’s okay to embrace different standards for everyone. Resilient students don’t really need more resiliency training. They need something else. A student with trauma needs different things than a student without. Creat an environment where you want your own chidren You can measure the indicators like discipline, attendance and graduation/completion rates We share examples of SEL through FOMO -- karaoke cafeteria -- from Principal Kim Coody’s High School in Okahoma and Amy Fast’s emotional learning practices in Oregon Recource recommended: Barb Sorrels - http://transformativeprincipal.org/episode269 Now It’s Your Turn What is one new method or strategy you could model for your teachers or team? How can you instll in others the freedom to believe it’s okay to try and fail and in learning? And how can you celebrate the wins along the way?

Productivity happens to be one of my favorite topics and based on responses from the survey, this is one the biggest struggles that pastors' wives face. In this episode, I introduce this subject with 5 principles for becoming a productive pastor's wife. 5 Principles of Becoming a Productive Pastor's Wife Know who God is (the Gardener), who Jesus is (the Vine), and who you are (the branch). Recognize which season you are in. The lack of visible fruit may just mean that you are in a season of pruning. Remember that the Word has pruned you and will continue to prune you. Surrender to it! Dwell in Him. Embrace the partnership with God. Don't try to "branch" out on your own. Apart from Jesus, you can do nothing.
