Some may say Brittany was raised in the circus. Her first job, at age 12, was at the weird and whacky Ripley's Believe it or Not!, followed by an undersea aquarium tour guide gig, that led to working in the entertainment departments for both Walt Disney World and Six Flags. She was the school's newspaper editor-in-chief, a journalism major, and a hobby writer—which has all led to her passion for making content both entertaining and informational. Now, with 13 years of experience in customer facing roles at both high-growth tech SaaS startups and Oracle, she has touched every part of the marketing funnel: from product messaging and positioning, campaign design, Marketo, Salesforce, to content creation and calendars, strategic events and tradeshows, event tech, with a majority focus on retention and customer marketing. Currently she is in a creative role on our Brand Video Team. She is responsible for high-level strategy such as how to scale quality video strategy in a 140K person company, creative concepts and treatments for video, scripting, writing documentary style interview questions, ensuring buttoned up pre-production, traveling for filming, and seeing through post, publishing, and promotion. Joe is a natural when it comes to sales, training, problem-solving, and inspiring others to be the best version of themselves possible. Some of it is in his blood. His family had a thriving jewelry, coin, and antique business for over 50 years in St. Petersburg, Florida. He spent his childhood watching his father and grandfather (also his namesake) work the business. A jack of many trades, Joe has owned a mortgage company and a national personal training company managed a large telemarketing firm and was even a licensed real estate agent. He jumped into the HVAC business back in 2012 in sunny (and very hot!) Florida (where he was born and raised). Joe started as a maintenance tech and quickly moved into sales then management. The common denominator always has been his love for helping people, his strong customer service and leadership skills, and his knack for being a great listener, leader, and problem solver. Joe's Favorite Book: It's Go Time by Ben Stark & Chris Hunter Joe's Favorite Movie: Meet Joe Black

Questions I asked Steve: First job out of school? What are the last 3 books you've read? Our experiences and the people we meet in our careers shape us. Could you share one or two experiences in your career that really contributed to who you are today? Reflect on your first boss. What did that person do well, not so well, how was the relationship, and the Impact on you? Of all the things you know, which do you feel could potentially be the leading expert on? What is the most challenging part of being a business coach? Is there a particular capability that is better executed inside the company or outside the company as far as coaching goes? What role does coaching have within a department of a business? Can a manager be a coach of their people or does the coaching role need to be "outsourced"? You are an entrepreneur and an employee, correct? As a high-level employee, what does your boss need to be able to do in order to manage you most effectively? What have you learned about leadership and brand building in your coaching roles for various businesses? What is the most common aspect of marketing that you see companies missing or applying poorly to their business? What is your favorite movie? Any book recommendations? How can people connect with you?
You recently did a keynote address at the Grand Summit in Nashville on the topic of Cascading Change. What do you mean by “Cascading change”? Why this topic and why now? As a young professional, what were some of your experiences with change in organizations? What did you see working and what didn't work? What type of changes are we talking about here? One of the things you emphasized was the importance of a higher level purpose. What is your higher level purpose? When did you discover that for yourself? How has it evolved over your career? Sometimes I feel that people are intimidated or scared to zero in on one thing too early in their career. How do I know this is my purpose? What are the barriers to change for individuals, you know, people who want to improve, but can't push through? How do you increase your self-awareness? What do you see as the barriers to cascading change in organizations? Tell me about your family siblings? How has/have your siblings and/or family life formed or affected what Nolan Consulting is today? What are you most proud of in your career so far? What is your favorite movie?
