Welcome to season #2 of the #upYourConfidence podcast, and our first episode, a solo episode where I unpack the power of writtings. Writing can be cathartic for me. Writing provides you an opportunity to express your feelings with no judgment. I share in detail the following area I have been documenting my life for the past twenty years and the huge benefit I gain from it. Benefits for my mental clarity, mental strength, strong self-esteem, and strong self-confidence. At the end of the episode, I hope you will grab a paper and pen or your iPad and write about the following five areas : your goals and dreams your action plans and daily habits your pains or failures your victories and successes Your anxieties and fears. Writing down your thoughts helps you easily become more grateful, and gratitude is a game-changer in your confidence journey. "It's a funny thing about life, once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you begin to lose sight of the things you lack." ~ Germany Kent, Author There is a power in writing down your goal, it helps in formulatiing your goal and has clarity on where you are going. "Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal that is so appealing, so much in line with your spiritual core, that you can't get it out of your mind. If you do not get chills when you set a goal, your not setting big enough goals." In this episode 7 of your #upYourConfidence Podcast with your host Lisette Zounon, we will dive into what is the essence of coaching. The first job of the coach is Listening, then ask questions. So let's talk about Listening to a bit, one of my favorite topics. When We talk about listening, it seems such an easy thing, but most of us have challenges being a good listener, being an active listener. The first duty of love is to Listen. Listening is actually a learner skill. It can be thought to believe it or. When I listen, I pay attention to all the cues; you have to be fully present. It takes confidence to listen to others fully with no judgment, grasp their viewpoints and opinions. There are nine techniques for Listening : Like to Listen - Be a good listener Ignore Distractions, Listen with your eyes and with your ears, be intentional SUmmarise what the speaker is saying: it is important to repeat what is said TAme your emotions- Control your emotions based on what you heard Eliminate Hasty judgments: fact Vs. opinion, avoid by Passing. Never interrupt: When we disagree mentally with the speakers. Inspire Openness: Make the speaker feel like you agree, inspire them to hear them. Acknowledge the need to listen Generate Conclusions: Now decide to signal that it is your turn to speak. There is a difference between coaching and mentoring.
