In this week’s episode, Amrit interviews Sarah Prout, a manifestation mentor, inspirational speaker, emotional empowerment expert, award-winning entrepreneur, writer, podcast host and best selling author. Sarah is the Chief Creative Officer and Director of Soul Space Media, a personal development company she runs together with her husband, that publishes ideas and teachings that inspire spiritual expansion focussed on the manifesting niche. She has her own podcast, The Sarah Prout Podcast and is the author of the best selling book “Dear Universe, 200 Mini-Meditations For Instant Manifestations”If you would like to have access to Sarah Prout’s book “Dear Universe, 200 Mini-Meditations For Instant Manifestations” so you can learn how to use the power of your feelings to create the success, love, and joy you deserve, please go to: https://amz.run/4M4qManifesting is when we bring attention and intention to what we want to attract in our life. Sarah is convinced that you can guide your emotions, your intuition, and your energy to create your own reality, and explains the manifesting process through her own life experience. After getting married to her second husband, Sarah went through five consecutive miscarriages in a row. Completely broken and feeling she had been tested by the universe, she still wanted to manifest a baby. Then came the day when she showed up in an emergency room with all the signs of a miscarriage. She addressed to her soul baby’s essence that she would be fine whether she showed up or whether she didn't. Sarah got comfortable with that uncertainty and that feeling was the miraculous leverage point for the universe to connect with her and say everything would be alright. Sarah surrendered and, there was the heartbeat. Being comfortable with that uncertainty and open to all possibilities gave Sarah her best reward. Today, Sarah is mother to two beautiful kids.Sarah and Amrit have a fun conversation about the art of manifesting. They dive deep into Sarah’s three elemental steps of manifestation: getting clarity and having a vision of what you want, making it really important to feel and how you want to feel, and detaching and letting go of the outcome. They also cave into effective tools to navigate and reach each step of manifestation. They talk about how important it is to label yourself with what you are good at and the need of clarity in communication and language when finding your vision, how important it is to have an optimistic, joyful and grateful attitude towards worry and adversity because if you do better things can happen, about the importance of moments of surrender, and reaching the awareness that being open to all possibilities is the key to your manifestation. Furthermore, they speak about the cultivation of a mindset to choose everyday in your life and why it is so important to choose humour.Every single moment in life is a choice point. You can choose how you react, direct your energy and take ownership of your emotions. By choosing and taking self responsibility you can manifest your own reality. Sarah strongly believes that by choosing joy, your life will turn up with more opportunities. In this chapter you will learn how to arise from worry and live with more intention, intuition and authenticity. You will discover how to have the power to consciously manifest all what you want through your connection to the universe and by empowering your emotions. “Joy is the currency of consciousness”“Get out of your head and into your heart and the moment”Level up your life with unlimited access to every Mindvalley Quest Program (over 30+ programs). “I’ve got my eye on the future. The future that keeps me going forward is one that is built in a more loving way. A more compassionate world is the one that I keep in my mind’s eye as my guidepost and my true north.” – Sarah Love Politics and spirituality have a long-standing dysfunctional relationship. In this conversation with artist and writer Sarah Love and Lindsay Pera, founder of the Modern Mystic Institute, we begin to dig for the roots of this dysfunction. We already know the damage: On the right, spirituality has been manipulated and melded with politics and patriotism to oppress people and rigidly control the narrative about values in our country. The consequences are disempowering. On one hand, we’ve got the “love and light” spiritual practitioners who resist analysis and truth-telling about political and social realities. On the other hand, we have political activists who have rejected spirituality because it’s been used to bypass the harsh realities of white supremacy, cis-hetero patriarchy, and capitalism. It’s time to rewrite the narrative and to push back on constructs that narrowly define what it means to love and what it means to be a peacemaker. What if we refuse to be divided by the pundits and politicians who insist that protest, patriotism and action have to look just so? That our protestations must be polite and palatable? What if we get super clear amidst the gaslighting about what loving our country looks like? If we are going to change the trajectory of our country, we’ve got to move forward as whole people, not as people who are compartmentalized, divided and constricted. It’s time to unapologetically reclaim, redefine and sharpen our tools. We can unapologetically infuse love and spirituality with politics and politics with spirituality. The Way Station, with Lindsay, Sarah and I as your guides, will take you deeper into this re-tooling and revision of our narrative. The Way Station is a place for those working to dismantle systems of oppression can gather, refuel, get tools and get grounded in strategy. Participants will be bringing our political expertise as well as our embodied wisdom and intuitive tools. We will explore the ways in which we can stay active, involved, creative and aligned in this moment of flux and crisis. Expect rigor and magic, love and analysis. No matter the outcome on November 3rd, our work is not over. We are in it for the long haul of liberation. Please join us. Sarah, Lindsay and I talked about: The ways in which we’ve been socialized to avoid discussing politics and systems of oppression; Why politically progressive people shy away from spirituality; How spirituality and politics, when used together, have historically been weaponized to oppress people; The importance of questioning, pushing back, redefining and expanding our understanding of engaging politically with the tools of faith, peacemaking and love; Our “pivot points”: those moments in our lives where we saw more clearly our role as activists and how we could wield spirituality as a powerful force for change; Our upcoming retreat, Way Station, on October 30th, which is an opportunity to come together to refuel, get tools, and ground strategies for the work ahead; Linday’s and Sarah’s divination on the energies of 2021. About Sarah and Lindsay: Sarah Love McCoy is an artist, writer and teacher working on expanding and awakening the power of love in herself and human hearts the world over. Creator of the “I Stand for Love” Calendar (in its 17th year in print!), Sarah’s best known for her daily nuggets of inspiration. The belief that healing our inner wounds, learning to trust our hearts, moving energy through our hands (while getting out of our heads) and coming together in a community as a path towards a more loving tomorrow is the philosophy behind Sarah’s mission and purpose. Lindsay Pera is the CEO of the Modern Mystics Institute and founder of the Mystics Society. As a Mystic mama, tech entrepreneur and intuitive strategist, she’s a sought after contributor and motivator on the topics of health, wealth and transformation. When she is not extolling the virtues of “Sacred Commerce” or “Resonance” based business, you can find her knocking almonds and generally getting her gratitude on. Lindsay's new paradigm business community, The Mystic’s Society, is a safe haven for entrepreneurs weaving magic into their *work* in the world. Sarah Small is the Empowered Empath supporting women entrepreneurs to create a thriving body, business, and life. She believes that the pathway to healing inevitably leads you to your soul's purpose. Sarah is on a mission to change the way we approach healing chronic illness. She has committed herself to helping other women who have hit healing and/or business plateaus to incorporate what she believes is the most potent aspect of our growth; the emotional, energetic, and spiritual. Sarah is a certified Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner, Timeline Therapy practitioner, bioenergetic practitioner, health coach, meditation teacher, EFT practitioner, vibrational crystal healer, oracle card reader, and ho'oponopono practitioner. In this episode, Sarah Small starts the show discussing healing. Sarah’s healing started with food – she removed all sorts of inflammatory foods from her diet. At some point, Sarah hit a plateau and was not feeling better; she was inflamed, fatigued, and ridden with anxiety. During this journey, Sarah discovered energy medicine and emotional healing. When Sarah was only focused on food, she unconsciously was in survival mode. Sarah never paused and listened to her body. What got Sarah to slow down was when her brother committed suicide. She finally allowed herself to get radically honest with her emotions. If you are looking to start a routine, Sarah says to slow down. Break your patterns and do something differently. This means switching up your routine and letting go of the things that are energetically draining and toxic. The first step is to assess what is serving you and what is not serving you. Ask your body and soul what it needs today. Then, Sarah discusses her digital courses, including one for people who are looking for alternative methods of healing chronic illness. Stay tuned to hear about Sarah’s new book and her advice for starting a business and also all about her Airstream Airbnb. Would you consider changing anything in your parenting style?Every mom’s biggest fear is leaving their children, and whenever we’re put in front of a challenge, usually our first thought is, “Why me?” We don’t get to pick our trials in life, but what we can do is transform from them and adapt to the changes. In today’s episode, Sarah and I talk about motherhood and how to deal with all the trials that are thrown at us, about technology and how that makes parenting even more difficult than it was when we were growing up.Sarah Turner is the woman behind the blog Memories on Clover Lane. She is a wife and a mother of six children and she had her first baby at 24 and her last at 43. Sarah says that her calling is motherhood and that she’s always felt like it was the greatest gift that she’s ever been given. She started her blog, Memories on Clover Lane as just a scrapbook for her family and it’s evolved into a place where she can write her thoughts on mothering and growing through the vocation. Sarah is also one year out of triple-negative breast cancer and she would be considered a survivor, but she says she just considers herself lucky as heck. So, listen to Episode 20 of Life Sunny Side Up, to hear a super inspiring conversation about the benefits of pacing yourself and seeing the beauty of what you have in life already.Questions I ask:As far as a career, I know you’re doing a new adventure. Not only is the Enneagram a great tool for gaining self-knowledge, but it is also a gateway for building strong relationships. When you understand that your way of seeing the world is not the only way to see the world, it creates room for compassion and appreciation toward others. The Enneagram teaches us how to communicate, and in turn, strengthens our relationships with family, friends, and co-workers. This week I invited husband and wife, David Dark (Enneagram 9) and Sarah Masen (Enneagram 6) to join me in a conversation about how the Enneagram has helped them identify the similarities and differences in their personalities and how that knowledge has shaped their marriage. With Enneagram Nines “optimistic to the point of denial” and Enneagram Sixes “realistic to the point of oblivion,” Dark and Masen demonstrate how they try to live in a balanced way that fosters a supportive and secure relationship where they both feel valued. ABOUT DAVID: David Dark is the author of Life's Too Short To Pretend You're Not Religious, The Sacredness of Questioning Everything, Everyday Apocalypse: The Sacred Revealed in Radiohead, The Simpsons, and Other Pop Culture Icons and The Gospel According To America: A Meditation on a God-blessed, Christ-haunted Idea. His work has appeared in MTV News, Books & Culture, Pitchfork, and the Oxford American. Following years of teaching high school English, he received his doctorate in 2011 and now teaches at the Tennessee Prison for Women and Belmont University where he is assistant professor of Religion and the Arts in the College of Theology. ABOUT SARAH: Sarah Masen is an American singer-songwriter originally from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. For several years she has lived in Nashville, TN with her husband, author David Dark, and their three children. Originally signed to Charlie Peacock’s “re:think” label, and subsequently to Word Records, she is now independent. Sarah's music has been described as pop alternative and is written from a background featuring influences as varied as Rich Mullins, Keith Green, 10,000 Maniacs, Over The Rhine, Victoria Williams and Julie Miller. Sarah's live performance has elements of the innocent approach of the last two artists, although most of her music comes from more of an intellectual background, discussing life, relationships and faith, in stark contrast with the angst-driven, dark and cynical approach you can find in a lot of the alternative music today.

I'm excited to share this conversation with my friend Sarah Bowling about her life-changing ministry Saving Moses, that gives hope and help to moms and babies in some of the darkest and poorest places on the planet. About the Ministry: In 2009, Sarah Bowling traveled to Ethiopia where she found two baby girls, Sarah and Ruth, abandoned in a field. She brought them to an orphanage, hoping to find a safe home for the babies. The orphanage refused to care for the twin baby girls. Nobody would love and care for these babies. If Sarah hadn't intervened, they would have been left for dead in the field. Sarah found that many organizations and orphanages simply cannot afford to care for babies. This age group requires so many more resources and individualized attention than older children that most orphanages are forced to refuse care to babies. And Saving Moses was born. We are passionate about saving the most helpless and vulnerable population: babies. About Sarah: Sarah Bowling is a Bible teacher, international speaker, author and pastor. She co-hosts a daily television program with her mom, the esteemed Marilyn Hickey, and founded the international nonprofit Saving Moses to provide resources for children in need. Sarah and her husband, Reece, co-pastor Encounter Church in Denver, where they live with their three children. Sarah Haskell, Computerized Weaving There's a column in the November 1983 issue of Family Computing magazine, by Jon Zonderman: "Home Business — Compute, Control, and Create. A weaver combines the traditional skills of her craft with a computer and reaps more than one reward." The article is about Sarah Haskell, a weaver who used an Atari computer to design patterns for weaving, and also to computer-control her loom. [Excerpts from the article.] My interview with Sarah took place on November 13, 2017. Teaser quote: "But with the electronic system, you did not have to get down on the floor and physically re-configure all of the treadles with these little metal hook things. You would basically just change it." Article in Family Computing magazine Pictures of Sarah with an Atari 800 Macomber Looms and Me blog About Sarah Macomber Looms

Happy Monday Couragemakers! I am so excited to share with you this week's episode of Couragemakers! For this week's episode, I sat down and had a good natter with Sarah Steckler. Sarah is a Creative Self-Love Coach who helps women take control of their lives by taking care of themselves. As a writer, journal lover, and creatively obsessed sticker collector, she loves to spend her free time wandering through nature and forest bathing, cuddling up with her English Bulldog, and planning her next Netflix binge! In this episode, Sarah shares her journey of how creativity helped her learn to love herself, how her life has changed now she has become more intentional about her creativity and self love and how struggling is part of the process. We really dive into how showing up as yourself can be a struggle, how giving yourself permission to have bad days can make all the difference and how important it is to find something we love that isn't for anyone but ourselves. Sarah shares great advice for anyone looking to add more creativity and self love to their life, great practical self care for people doing their own thing and really helpful words of wisdom for creative women who struggle with their mental health. This is also a great episode if you struggle with your mental health and want to use creativity as a way to help you, if you often find yourself thinking that doing things for yourself is selfish, and if you need the reminder that what you have to put in the world is pretty damn important. I really loved my conversation with Sarah and finding out more about her journey and the work she's putting in the world. As creative people, it can be so hard to remember that while our creativity gives so much to the world, it gives so much to ourselves as well, and I'm so glad Sarah reminded us of that today. Enjoy the show! About Sarah Sarah is a Creative Self-Love Coach who helps women take control of their lives by taking care of themselves. While this seems simple enough, Sarah understands the barriers to change we all can face, including self-doubt, guilt, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, and anxiety that comes with transitions and change. As a writer, journal lover, and creatively obsessed sticker collector, she loves to spend her free time wandering through nature and forest bathing, cuddling up with her English Bulldog, and planning her next Netflix binge! She's also huge animal lover who dreams of one day opening up her own cow sanctuary and dreams of creating her own self-care journal for others. Happy Monday! I'm so happy to be back this week with another episode of Couragemakers. For those of you wondering why there wasn't an episode last week, I have just returned to the UK from my 3 month US road trip and my Granddad is seriously ill in hospital. But the podcast is back this week and isn't going anywhere, I can assure you! Now I'm back, I'm going to be recording 2017's episodes and working on special episodes, and new Couragemakers will be back to normal with new episodes every Monday :) I am so excited to share with you this week's episode. This week, I had the opportunity to sit down and have a good natter with singer-songwriter Sarah Smith. After years on the road fronting Canadian rock band The Joys, Sarah went solo in 2012 and in this episode shares what her life on the road looks and feels like, the leap of faith she took leaving the army to pursue life as a musician and the lessons she's learned along the way. Sarah shares the truth about what it looks like to get paid to do things you love, the difficulties we face as women not being taught to own our skills and learning to discover them and how the way of creativity is not for the faint of heart. We really dive into what it means to pursue a creative life; the uncertainty that comes with being a full-time creative, how life is an ongoing practice and how Sarah learned to let go of the fear of the unknown and believe everything will work out. I absolutely love this episode, and Sarah shares such great practical advice for creatives struggling to believe that things will work out and how our validation needs to come from the inside. Sarah's passion and enthusiasm for life and her work is contagious and I loved getting a behind the scenes glimpse of what life on the road looks like. Hi there and welcome to episode 27 of Couragemakers. This week, I had the joy of speaking to Sarah Starrs. Sarah is a writer, podcast host of The Girl Gang Conversations, and virtual assistant. She believes that our thoughts, choices, and actions create our lives, so she's dedicated herself to making choices, thinking thoughts, and taking actions that feel good. She recently closed down her coaching practice because it wasn't feeling good anymore. In her work as a Virtual Assistant Sarah helps heart-centered female entrepreneurs take the headache out of their business so that it all feels more awesome. By sharing her story and the stories of others through her work as a writer and podcast host, she wants to shine a spotlight on the imperfect mess of being human and in the process, help people see that they're not alone. In this episode, we really focus in on self love and lifestyle design. Sarah shares her experience of depression since a young age, how she thought that an exciting life full of of travel, romance and interesting people were for other people, not for her, and the journey of how she became the person she always wanted to be. During our conversation we dive into how existential philosophy changed Sarah's life and how exploring radical responsibility opened up a new world for her, the world of lifestyle design and how fear can become a lifestyle. Sarah has so much practical advice for anyone struggling to make self love a tangible reality in their lives, and this conversation really dives deep into what it means to create a life you love and become the person you've always dreamt of being.
