As a small practice, you can bring in other experts to share ideas and create fresh solutions. Working together can also help you stay flexible and save money by creating teams that fit each project.Breaking Down Walls: For good teamwork, you need to get rid of “walls” between different job roles. This means respecting other people's skills, listening closely, and being okay with asking questions if you don't know something. Building trust and keeping clear communication will help everyone work better together.New Ideas from Different Minds: New ideas often come when different people share their views. When you collaborate and involve a mix of experts early on, it's easier to tackle complex issues and find solutions that one team alone might not achieve.Links Mentioned In The Episode...Visit the EcoResponsive Environments WebsiteConnect with Prachi on LinkedIn—--Interested in working with Jon?

This episode features an interview with Prachi Gore, SVP of Marketing, Checkr, Inc., a company that makes background checks faster, easier, and more compliant. In this episode, Prachi shares how they balance marketing to both the SMB and enterprise markets, and discusses her approach to reach each group of prospects. She also emphasizes the importance of investing in brand, and talks about how her revenue team is focused on “push marketing”.Key Takeaways:Be strategic about how you target different customers. Prachi has distinct approaches for SMB and enterprise markets, —focusing on brand advertising for SMBs while leveraging thought leadership and compliance content for enterprises. It is worth investing in customer lifecycle and partner marketing to improve customer retention and expand market reach. Customer lifecycle marketing is especially crucial in businesses with a transactional model.A robust inbound marketing strategy, supported by comprehensive brand awareness efforts, is vital for capturing latent demand and nurturing leads, even when brand investment feels like a riskier bet. Quote: “I think brand campaigns are always a bet. You're taking a risk of placing a bet on something that may or may not work. It's not measurable. It's hard, really, really hard to measure. And so it's kind of like, you've got to jump in with two feet and you'll float. But I think that that makes it hard for us as marketers to say like, hey, you're just like two million or five or whatever is your number, I'm going to put this towards a test and let's see what works, what doesn't work. Versus anything else, even we talked a lot about content syndication, but anything else like search, demand, events, campaigns, everything can be tied back to, it produces so much pipeline, exactly how much, you know. So, it just makes taking those bets, experiments, faster, easier, and at lower risk. Brand is hard, and then it also needs a philosophical alignment with your CFO, with your CEO your board, like everyone needs to be on board to help place those bets with you.”Episode Timestamps: *(02:10) The Trust Tree: Marketing to SMB and enterprise markets*(12:19) The Playbook: Hitting both parts of the business through search *(33:13) The Dust Up: Turning the BDR program around *(35:15) Quick Hits: Prach's Quick Hits Sponsor:Pipeline Visionaries is brought to you by Qualified.com, the #1 Conversational Marketing platform for companies that use Salesforce and the secret weapon for pipeline pros. Scripts of Power: Writing, Language Practices, and Cultural History in Western India (Permanent Black, 2023) is a cultural history of western India from a fascinatingly new perspective: language use, writing practices, and relations of power. Its principal focus is the Modi script, a cursive form widely used for writing the Marathi language from the medieval era until quite recently. Examining the changing domains in which Modi flourished and declined over several centuries, Deshpande charts the interconnections of writing, script, language use, and structures of social and regional power in early-modern and modern South Asia. Positioning the career of this cursive form within a cluster of scripts, documents, and language practices, Scripts of Power tracks changing meanings within literate groups, bureaucratic power, and linguistic identity. It presents a critical genealogy of diverse power relations that produced the “regional vernaculars” of the Indian subcontinent – many of which, including Marathi, are official state languages in India today. Deshpande's cultural history reveals multiple fractures in language at its sites of usage over time. It unsettles the notions of language as merely instrumental for communication, or as a primordial basis for identity, and makes us see language as history and practice. In deploying script as its entry point for large reflections on the relationship of politics with language, identity, and power, this book will fascinate and absorb all who are interested in Indian cultural history. Prachi Deshpande is Associate Professor of History at the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta. Her research areas are language histories, cultures of documentation and multilinguality, historiography, and memory. She is the author of Creative Pasts: Historical Memory and Identity in Western India, 1700–1960 (Columbia University Press and Permanent Black, 2007), and has taught previously at, among other places, the University of California, Berkeley. She won the Infosys Prize for Humanities in 2020. Niharika Yadav is a postdoctoral fellow in South Asian History at Macalester College. Her research interests connect the histories of political and literary practices with studies of language, caste, and gender in postcolonial India, and on a broader scale, with global histories of democracy and socialism. Over 100 elephants and 350 people lose their lives to human elephant conflict in India. This is not surprising given that only 22% of elephant habitat in India is found within protected areas. The issue of HEC is compounded by increasing habitat fragmentation, due to urbanization, development of linear infrastructure and cropland expansion. On this episode, I interview Prachi Mehta who is the Executive Director of Research at the Wildlife Research and Conservation Society. We discuss the drivers of HEC, potential solutions, the use of technology to mitigate HEC and the works of WRCS. We also talk about the highly engandered Forest Owlet, a species which is making a reappearance around central India over the last few years. This is a public episode. The dugong is a Schedule 1 species in India, accorded the same protection as the Tiger but we barely know anything about it. My three amazing guests on episode#32 are researching Dugongs in three coastal pockets of India and doing a fantastic job as far as I can tell. I learnt a great deal about a mammal in my backyard which I was clueless about till now. Hope you enjoy listening to Prachi Sachchidanand Hatkar, Chinmaya Ghanekar and Swapnali Gole of their work with Dugongs as much as I did. Cover Dugong Photo Credits: Darius Quadros.
