Two years later, her remains were found in a remote field—and the last known recording of her voice has haunted Canada ever since. In this video, we break down every detail of Amber's case, the RCMP's mishandling of the investigation, and the chilling phone call that could lead to her killer. Amber Tuccaro disappeared in Edmonton, Canada in August 2010. Despite her family being worried, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were reluctant to call her a missing person. Unfortunately, the investigation was botched from the beginning with several missteps by the RCMP leading to Amber's case going cold. 2 years later, Amber's body was found in Leduc County, and her case became a homicide investigation. An audio recording from a phone call Amber made while she was in the car with the suspect was released, but the man could not be identified. Amber's family is sure that the fact that she was an Indigenous Canadian woman was a part of why the RCMP mishandled the investigation into her case. Amber's case remains unsolved to this day.

Amber Alyssa Tuccaro was a young mother and member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation, living in Fort McMurray, Canada. In August of 2010, while on a trip to Edmonton with her son and a friend, Amber decided to hitchhike into the city, but after doing so, she was never seen again. Her mom reported her missing. However, the RCMP wouldn't listen and didn't care. They did next to nothing to search for Amber and even destroyed her personal belongings. For 2 years, her family was without answers until August of 2012 came around, and the RCMP released a 1-minute recording from a 17-minute call that Amber placed on the day it's believed she died. That day, Amber called her brother and because he was incarcerated, it was recorded and stored. In the recording, you can hear Amber begin to worry that the man who picked her up is not taking her where she wants to go. Her body was found 4 days after the recording was released, and there has been no justice to this day. Amber Tuccaro was a member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation when she went missing in 2010. "Deficient" police work led to Amber's body being undiscovered for TWO years. Her case is still unsolved even with police having her potential killer on an audio-recorded phone call Amber made in the last few minutes of her life. The United States and Canada have a complicated history when it comes to the relationships between the Indigenous and Settler communities. Enemies and alliances, trade and conflict, trust and betrayal; all have transpired between the various factions, often more than once. Though we've left the days of open conflict far behind, stories like that of Amber Tuccaro are all too common. In this episode, Grace dives into the unsolved disappearance and homicide of Amber Tuccaro, a 20-year-old Mikisew Cree First Nations woman from Fort McMurray, Canada. Despite authorities having a 17-minute ...
The truly tragic and frustrating tale of the disappearance and murder of Amber Tuccaro. Amber was hitchhiking into Edmonton from a nearby motel when she accepted a ride from an unknown man and was never seen alive again. She was on a phone call when she noticed the driver was headed in the wrong direction and started asking questions. The call was recorded and released, revealing the voice of the driver to the public. However, like far too many missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada, Amber's case was mishandled and remains unsolved. CW: This episode contains an audio recording that may be found disturbing. This case does not involve sexual assault, but sexual assault is mentioned. Setting: Nisku & Leduc, Alberta, Canada. 2010. Do you recognize this man's voice? If you do, or you know anything about the disappearance or murder of Amber Tuccaro, Edna Bernard, Katie Sylvia Ballantyne, Delores Brower or Corrie Ottenbreit, please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestoppers.ab.ca Amber Tuccaro was last seen alive on August 18th 2010 around 7:30pm hitching a ride near the Nisku Place Motel at 401 11th Avenue in Nisku, Alberta. She was 5'6" and weighed 144 lbs. She had brown eyes and shoulder-length black hair with blond streaks, and may have been wearing a purple Bench hoodie. SourcesSupport the show

In August 2010, 20-year-old Amber Tuccaro disappeared near Edmonton, Canada. Her remains were later found by horseback riders in a field on a farm in a very rural area of Leduc County. The RCMP released audio of a phone call that recorded Amber talking with an unknown male, apparently as a passenger in this man's car. But, the authorities have only released about one minute of what is known to be about a 17-minute recording. Authorities eventually came out and said they believe Amber was murdered and many people have speculated that the determination is based on something found on that portion of unreleased audio. Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the mysterious disappearance and murder of Amber Tuccaro. The authorities have been heavily criticized over the investigation into Amber's disappearance and murder. Amber was an Indigenous woman and Canada has experienced a large number of disappearances and murders of Indigenous women in their history. And, many charges have been levied against the police that they have not always taken the cases of Indigenous women as seriously as they should. There are hundreds of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls across Canada, and these are just some of their stories. In part 2 of the missing and murdered Indigenous women mini-series, we cover the case of Amber Tuccaro, a 20-year-old Indigenous woman who went missing in August of 2010 during a short vacation with a friend and her young son. En route to Edmonton, Amber was hitchhiking, grabbed a ride with an unknown man and was never seen again. A portion of this drive is captured in a chilling 60-second piece of audio that was released to the public of a phone call Amber made from inside the vehicle. While the man's voice from that audio has never been identified, it remains a vital clue in the case.In the eleven years since her murder, information about the misconduct of the police during the course of the investigation has been revealed, leading to a public inquiry into Amber's murder led by her own family who demands justice. Countless theories are still out there about just who could be responsible- including a possible tie to a notorious string of murders in the US and a man who came forward to accuse his own father.FIND US ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Instagram: @crimefamilypodcast Twitter: @crimefamilypod1Facebook: Crime Family PodcastEmail: crimefamilypodcast@gmail.comEPISODE RESOURCES:Inquiry Into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women:https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/inquiry-into-missing-murdered-indigenous-women-opens-hearings-in-edmontonRCMP failures in botched Amber Tuccaro Investigation:https://www.thestar.com/edmonton/2019/06/27/report-outlines-series-of-rcmp-failures-in-botched-amber-tuccaro-investigation.htmlCBC MMIW- Amber Alyssa Tuccaro:https://www.cbc.ca/missingandmurdered/mmiw/profiles/amber-alyssa-tuccaroCBC's 'The National':https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwqZcfJN6gsPossible Tip in the case:https://globalnews.ca/news/6458470/alberta-rcmp-amber-tuccaro-homicide-tip/RCMP apology to the Tuccaro family:https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/rcmp-apology-amber-tuccaro-murder-1.5225042Audio clip voice comparison:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdUXo9JIV1MTrue Crime Times Blog:https://truecrimetimesblog.medium.com/ten-years-later-who-killed-amber-tuccaro-d9d78beae68fAnother possible lead in the case:https://globalnews.ca/news/6458470/alberta-rcmp-amber-tuccaro-homicide-tip/?utm_medium=Facebook&utm_source=GlobalEdmonton&fbclid=IwAR2OoXPIkd-FZhjMwbHMeQrwVV4SeGLToMkc9CToFiTZr6bjgqi90xD1s1I

On the last night of their trip, she got a ride from a stranger and was never seen again. Two years later the police released audio of what is believed to be Amber's last phone call and asked the public for help. After a lot of missteps by the police, a public apology and a slew of people coming forward to claim they know who harmed Amber, the case remains unsolved. 20-year-old mother, Amber Tuccaro, took a weekend trip to Edmonton, Alberta with her 14-month-old son and a female acquaintance. The evening of August 18, 2010, Amber left their motel and was last seen getting into a vehicle with an unknown male. Jenn, Court, and Bec are left with all the questions, like, why would Amber leave her baby and head into the city alone, who was the male in the car with her, and the biggest question of all, why was her case so incredibly mishandled by authorities. This episode also recognizes Steven Mylon who went missing from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada on February 13, 1998.Listen to the Episode for all the details and visit finalminutespodcast.com for pictures and sources!

Amber Alyssa Tuccaro was a 20 year old from Mikisew Cree First Nation who went missing on the evening of August 18th, 2010. Her remains wouldn't be discovered until 2 years later, and truly I blame the police for this one, as they didn't even seem to really look for Amber. We'll get into how the police completely botched this investigation from day 1, as well as listen to the audio that Amber was able to record in the presence of her killer. While this case seems like it should really have enough evidence to point us to the killer, 11 years later and Amber's murder is still unsolved. If you have any information please contact Alberta RCMP at 780-412-5261 or Leduc RCMP at 780-980-7267. Tips can also be called into Project KARE at 1-877-412-5273 or 780-509-3356, or submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. *Visit our Sponsor* http://obriendoor.com Become a Serial Napper Patreon @ https://www.patreon.com/serialnapper

Welcome back to Episode 16 of Smoke Til It’s Gone or Die! This week we take in the fact that Patty doesn’t learn from her mistakes and decides to drink a THC infused lemonade to lubricate herself for this case. She covers the heartbreaking unsolved death of Amber Tuccaro, a woman of the Mikisew Cree First Nation who went missing in 2010. After a botched police investigation, a piece of evidence is released to the public two years after she went missing. This recorded phone call is thought to capture the voice of the very man responsible for Amber’s death. Do you recognize the voice? If you have any information regarding the murder of Amber Alyssa Tuccaro, please contact the Alberta RCMP at 780–412–5261, or Crime Stoppers at 1–800–222-TIPS (8477). Rylee covers the equally mysterious and unsolved case of MI6 agent, Garreth Williams. In what is basically an anti-crime scene, there was nothing out of place, nothing broken or missing, no fingerprints, or any other physical evidence. The state of his body led to nothing but wild theories and grasping motives, and remains unsolved to this day. The girls were looking to have a fun weekend in the city. Amber asked her friend to look after young Jacob while she reportedly hitchhiked into town to get some food for them. Amber Alyssa Tuccaro, known to her family and friends as fiercely courageous and independent, was confident, compassionate, and protective over her bloodline and loved ones. Her deep-rooted connection with cultivating relationships, as well as her passion to nurture those in need and make a positive impact on the world around her, was cut short by an unexplainable, unsolved death in the dog days of summer in August of 2010, leaving all who knew her across the Mikisew Cree First Nation in Alberta, Canada and the entire country at large grasping for answers in a sea of evidence that drowned us all in doubt…As a hope to provide more substantial reasoning built upon observable evidence and situational analysis, this is an examination of the death of Amber Tuccaro, and the suspicious audio recording from Amber’s final phone call that may or may not provide a clue to identify her unknown killer...This is Cold Case Detective.Researched and written by TJ RueschEpisode narrated by William EarlMusic by CO.AG________Our episodes deal with serious and often distressing incidents. Paul and Billy look into two separate cases nearly four decades apart, each haunted with a voice of the offender. The first case, from Canada, is searching for a murderer. A man picked up Amber Tuccaro as she hitchhiked her way into town. He didn’t know his voice was being recorded as she protested. The other is a kidnapping—the apparent abductor of Margaret Ellen Fox calling her parents. Billy and Paul are hoping that the Murder Squad may recognize these evil voices, and help deliver justice.
Amber Tuccaro was 20 years old, and the mother of a 14-month-old boy when she traveled with her baby and a female friend from Fort McMurray to Nisku, Alberta with the plan of heading to Edmonton the next day, August 18, 2010. When she left her friend and son on Amber decided to hitchhike into the city and was picked up by an unknown man. There was a conversation with this man that was recorded – it was the last time Amber’s voice was heard. Violence against native and indigenous women in the North American continent is an epidemic, one that deserves way more media that it gets. According the National Inquiry into Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls, published in Canada in 2019, the murder rate of indigenous women is six times higher than the average rate amongst non-indigenous women. This is a very broad and complex issue that I want to dedicate an entire episode to so I won’t be discussing much about the report or other inequalities indiginous women face in this episode. In this episode, I want to discuss one native Canadian women whose life was cruelly taken away and 10 years later, despite police having an audio recording of the man most likely responsible for her murder, she has not yet received justice. 20 year old Amber Tuccaro, was last seen alive on August 18,2010. She had left her infant son in the care of her friend and planned to hitchhike into the nearby city of Edmonton for the night. The only clue in Amber’s disappearance is the recording of a telephone call she received while riding in a vehicle with an unknown male just moments after she was last seen. In the chilling recording, Amber seems to slowly realize the man is not taking her towards Edmonton but instead onto a series dirt roads… just like the ones her remains would be found on two years later. Today I spend some time talking about energy extraction such as Alberta farmers with contaminated land, the documentary Gasland which focuses communities where fracking is a concern, and the pipeline routing choices that were made on Wet’suwet’en territory. I also talk about recent developments in the Amber Tuccaro investigation. I also took part in a Twitch live stream thanks to twitch.tv/lottieblix and was chatting with some great people such as Ian Campeau (DJ NDN) one of the founders of A Tribe Called Red. Ian gave me a whole new perspective on the genocide of Indigenous that I hadn't thought of before but now make so much sense. August 18, 2010. Leduc County, Alberta. While staying with her infant son and a friend at a motel, 20-year old Amber Tuccaro decides to hitchhike to Edmonton. She never returns and is subsequently reported missing. Two years later, police release audio of a recording from Amber's cell phone in which she can be heard conversing with a male driver on the night of her disappearance. Amber expresses fear that this man is taking her to a remote area and it seems likely she was murdered shortly after the call ended. Within days, Amber's skeletal remains are discovered in a farmer's field, but the voice of the male driver is never positively identified. October 12, 2011. Parkland County, Alberta. After spending the night playing in a soccer tournament, 36-year old wife and mother Jolene Cote stops to make some purchase at Wal-Mart before heading home. The following morning, Jolene's husband wakes up and discovers her body on the grass outside their rural home, and it becomes apparent that she was attacked shortly after pulling into the driveway. August 18, 2010. Leduc County, Alberta. While staying with her infant son and a friend at a motel, 20-year old Amber Tuccaro decides to hitchhike to Edmonton. She never returns and is subsequently reported missing. Two years later, police release audio of a recording from Amber’s cell phone in which she can be heard conversing with a male driver on the night of her disappearance. Amber expresses fear that this man is taking her to a remote area and it seems likely she was murdered shortly after the call ended. Within days, Amber’s skeletal remains are discovered in a farmer’s field, but the voice of the male driver is never positively identified. October 12, 2011. Parkland County, Alberta. After spending the night playing in a soccer tournament, 36-year old wife and mother Jolene Cote stops to make some purchases at Wal-Mart before heading home. The following morning, Jolene’s husband wakes up and discovers her body on the grass outside their rural home, and it becomes apparent that she was attacked shortly after pulling into the driveway. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police remains very secretive about many aspects of this investigation, but express their belief that Jolene was not a randomly targeted victim. A topic that is not widely known or discussed, but has been a long-standing and constant problem within the US and Canada to this day, is the disappearance and murders of thousands of indigenous women. Many of these women go missing or murdered without media attention, without being put into a missing persons database, and most have not received the justice they or their families deserve. Today we discuss the story of Amber Tuccaro, a 20 year old mother from the Miksew Cree First Nations Tribe in Alberta Canada. Amber was murdered by what is likely a serial killer in the Edmonton area, where there are over 15 indigenous women who have gone missing in recent years. http://www.mmiwg-ffada.ca/https://www.facebook.com/JUSTICEFORAMBERTUCCARO/Stay tuned at the end of the episode to hear a promo from a podcast we love, Murderific Visit our shop for shirts, hoodies, totes, buttons, prints! Vivian (Tootsie) Tuccaro still grieves regarding slaying of her 20-year-old daughter Amber Tuccaro, a member of Mikisew Cree First Nation. Her daughter’s remains were found in a Leduc field in 2012, two years after she went missing. The RCMP has a recording of Amber in a car with a stranger, and people say they know who it is. But there haven't been developements in the case, which has gone cold. Tonight the family speaks out on Native Trailblazers. Shé:kon and Thanks for joining Native Trailblazers!
