Monday marks 4 years since the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. We revisit Rose’s conversation with Harry Dunn. The former U.S. Capitol Police officer traveled to Atlanta in 2024 when he was being honored by the Fulton County Democratic Party with the Saving Democracy Award. During the conversation, Dunn talks about his experience responding to the insurrection, voting and the current state of democracy. Plus, we also hear from Dr. Catherine Meeks, a longtime educator, workshop leader and scholar focusing on dismantling racism. Meeks reflects on the insurrection, her ongoing efforts to teach others about racial healing and her book “The Night Is Long But Light Comes in the Morning: Mediations for Racial Healing.” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Harry Dunn is a former U.S. Capitol Police officer who risked his life to save our democracy by repelling the rioters on January 6th. He was one of three Capitol Police officers who gave riveting testimony to the January 6th Committee. He emphasizes the importance of standing up for the country and the potential consequences if action is not taken. He mentions his policy priorities, such as healthcare, gun reform, mental health funding, infrastructure, and addressing rising crime. Full Hour | Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by telling of a news story that broke this morning in Philadelphia after surveillance video was released showing a woman beaten just steps from City Hall by a group of 8 individuals. This sets off Dom, leading him to ask why we continue to go down this path of such an unsafe City. Then, Dom offers his review of last night's Tucker Carlson Show on Fox News in which the host showed multiple videos of January 6th that run counter to information presented by the investigative committee. Then, Dom takes calls from listeners who have their opinion about the new information exposed yesterday Then, Dom welcomes Representative Scott Perry back onto the Dom Giordano Program to hear his thoughts on the new information exposed last night by Tucker Carlson after his producers scoured over 40,000 hours of footage of the January 6th incident. Perry explains the frustration he felt last night as it became clear that what he and many other Republicans believed about the day was indeed true. Perry offers his analysis on the footage, pointing out the hypocrisies of how things have been handled regarding the event. Perry explains what he would like to see as a result of the new footage coming to light, telling why he believes the American people need to demand answers from the government on both the revelations centered on Ray Epps, a man alleged to be an instigator who supposedly left the incident prior to what footage shows, and Brian Sicknick, the Capitol Police Officer who passed soon after the event who has been turned into a martyr by Democrats. Also, Perry addresses claims that he requested a pardon, explaining that this helps prove that Liz Cheney lied about him and much else about the day's events.

This week in airplane news: The NTSB has issued a surprisingly short final report for the redbull plane swap, the prelim report is out for the CASA Skydiving accident, airplane parts fall from the sky, and another highway landing. The NTSB has issued a remarkably short analysis and probable cause of the Redbull plane crash Probable Cause: “The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident to be: The unoccupied airplanes exceedance of the critical angle of attack which resulted in a stall, subsequent inverted spin, and impact with terrain.” WPR22LA165 https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search The NTSB Prelim report has come out for the strange occurrence of the co-pilot falling out of the plane The report states the copilot may have gotten sick, was visible upset, and lowered the rear ramp of the aircraft The PIC then stated the SIC removed his headset, apologized, and departed the aircraft via the aft ramp door - without a parachute. ERA22LA348 https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search According to the department of public safety in Maine, a 6-7lb metal sleeve-like object landed near a Capitol Police Officer. No one was injured and multiple people saw it happen The FAA believes the part came from a wing flap of a large passenger jet. Nearby aircraft were notified and all landed safely. https://abcnews.go.com/Weird/wireStory/airplane-part-falls-sky-hits-man-maine-88415457 Another highway landing has occurred and luckily all 5 people involved were uninjured. A Piper PA-32 landed on Route 91 in California, striking a Toyota pickup truck. On the latest FiredUp Podcast - This episode we review the very busy week that just ended, starting with the powerful presentation from the White House Press Room by Matthew McConaughey responding to the Uvalde elementary school shooting. His speech was impactful, emotional and he called out to our leaders to take action. He told the stories of a couple of the children that were killed, highlighted by a pair of green Converse sneakers like the ones worn by one of the victims, barely holding his emotions in check. He concluded by reciting the litany of things our lawmakers need to do NOW to curtail the violence. - We also reported on the first hearing from the Jan 6 Committee, highlighting the presentation, testimony from a Capitol Police Officer injured in the line of duty and a videographer embedded with the Proud Boys on Jan 6 who recorded startling video of their actions on that day. - The Right has been spending a lot of time, money and words blaming the Biden Administration for inflation, gas prices and gun violence. We will look at the gas price explosion in this country and break down the real facts about what drives gas prices (and it isn’t the President). - In late breaking news, a bi-partisan Senate committee has put forward a proposed gun safety package which we will examine. Just in case you missed it, here is a link to Matthew McConaughey’s speech from the White house on Jan. 7th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP27AXVNaeg

The FBI just arrested Julian Khater and George Tanios for participating in the January 6 attack on the US Capitol. These two insurrectionists were charged with nine counts, including assaulting the late US Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, as well as assaulting two other police officers. However, court documents reveal that they have not been charged with the homicide of Officer Sicknick. As a career DC homicide prosecutor and former Chief of Homicide at the DC US Attorney's Office, this charging decision is entirely consistent with the way we generally investigate and charge large conspiracy cases that involve potential homicide offenses.
