Jamie Raskin, a Democrat from Maryland, serves on Congress's Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the Capitol. He spoke with David Remnick about the effort to demonstrate Donald Trump's culpability in the insurrection in a way that would resonate with voters, and about Trump's political future. Trump is “guilty as sin, and everybody can see it,” Raskin says, and he is running low on patience for the Department of Justice to act. “As a citizen, I would hope and expect to see action,” Raskin notes, given the committee's findings. “But I try to be careful not to browbeat the Attorney General of the United States.”

Season 3, Episode 307:  Congressman Jamie Raskin On January 6th: After a Failed Coup, a Successful One?(Full conversation from the episode released May 16th) The January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, intended to stop the certification of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States of America, “was as close to fascism as I ever want to see our country come,” says Jamie Raskin, Democratic Congressman from Maryland. And he should know -- Raskin is a Constitutional scholar as well as a long-time law school professor, and in the hours after the assault on the Capitol, he was chosen to head up the second impeachment investigation of Donald Trump. He's also a member of the House Select Committee currently investigating the January 6 attack, now set to hold publicly televised hearings next month. "The political scientists tell [us] that the key indicator of a successful coup is a recently failed coup where the coup plotters can diagram the deficiencies in the incumbent regime," says Rep. THE THESIS: The NY Times writing in defense of Ray Epps proves Rap Epps is a star player of The Party.  THE SCRIPTURE & SCRIPTURAL RESOURCES:  It's not just Ray Epps to whom The Party shows obvious favoritism. They also allowed and cheered the Black Lives Matter, Inc. and Antifa riots and murders. The Party is hunting down, not just people who actually were armed and seeking violence on J6, but also 86 year old grandmas who simply walked around in the Capitol rotunda. But, God abhors favoritism, especially in leaders.  25 verses about God being against favoritism THE NEWS & COMMENT: While this woman is headed to prison . . . We stand for righteousness and truth!  If you can any to support to defend her, donate here: https://www.givesendgo.com/G3G4Y?utm_source=sharelink&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=G3G4Y One the founders of the terrorist group, Black Lives Matter, Inc., is enjoying life in multiple, luxury homes . . . [AUDIO] - ONE of Patrisse Khan-Cullours' houses reviewed Patrisse--whose terror group says “all cops are murderers”--is upset at what she says are lies about her “personal resources” . . .  she's a “trained Marxist”, so it's always fun to hear her talk about her private property when her terror group burns that of others . . .  [AUDIO] - BLM Co-Founder Patrisse Cullors Admits To Throwing Two Parties At $6M Mansion Clearly, The Party has no interest in going after BLM and Antifa. But, they are turning over every stone for J6--right? Well, there are some stones forever gone, it appears. In a strange bit of coincidence, the Secret Service “accidentally” deleted text messages from the day of J6 . . . [like with a cloth, maybe?] Secret Service Deleted Jan. 6 Text Messages After Oversight Officials Requested Them; A letter given to the January 6 committee says the erasure took place shortly after oversight officials requested the agency's electronic communications Infuriating: “But, the Office of Inspector General letter suggests, key evidence in the form of the Secret Service's electronic communications may never see the light of day. The Department of Homeland Security — the Secret Service's parent agency — is subject to oversight from the DHS Office of Inspector General, which had requested records of electronic communications from the Secret Service between January 5 and January 6, 2021, before being informed that they had been erased. It is unclear from the letter whether all of the messages were deleted or just some. Department officials have also pushed back on the oversight office's records request by arguing that the records must first undergo review by DHS attorneys, which has delayed the process and left unclear if the Secret Service records would ever be produced, according to the letter. Asked about the matter, a DHS Office of Inspector General spokesperson told The Intercept, “To preserve the integrity of our work and protect our independence, we do not discuss our ongoing reviews or our communications with Congress.” This nugget in the piece is infuriating as well: “Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., a member of the January 6 committee, called Pence's terse refusal — “I'm not getting in the car” — the “six most chilling words of this entire thing I've seen so far.” [AUDIO] - Remember, it was that same Jamie Raskin attempting to stop the electoral votes for President-elect Trump Now, we turn to AOC. Remember that crazy, right-wing conspiracy theory about the Capitol Hill Police opening the doors and waving in part of the crowd? So . . . about that: [AUDIO] - AOC admits Capitol Police held the doors open on Jan 6 She also wanted to talk to reporter---that is, IF they are “women” [whatever that is], same-sed attracted or fancy themselves to be of the sex opposite their own: “Inside Capitol just now, Rep. AOC asked to speak with "female and LGBT" reporters to warn us that the man who harassed her is affiliated with credentialed news outlet. She said her staff called Capitol police 5x to get them to do something.” But, HERE, dear listener, HERE is the article of the year from The Party's media bosses. The NY Times, which once showed Ray Epps to be a pre-planner of J6, flips and decrees good-old Ray a “victim . . .”  [AUDIO] -  The New York Times proves, once again, they are an agent of The State and a supplicant of The Party.  LIke I just said, the ‘Times previously showed Epps as a PRE-PLANNER!  [AUDIO] - Amazingly, Ray-Epps is referenced as a pre-planner of the Capitol siege in the NYT's OWN VIDEO DOCUMENTARY of January 6, "Day of Rage: How Trump Supporters Took the US Capitol" [AUDIO] - Again the NYT video documentary features Epps as one of the key orchestrators of the Capitol siege See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

THE THESIS: The Party's elites have built themselves a new Tower of Babble and live firmly within its walls. From their perches, they broadcast their lofty sounding phrases filled with sound and fury. But, in their grand constriction, they have destroyed their ability to speak truth. God provides lessons on defeating liars like them. THE SCRIPTURE & SCRIPTURAL RESOURCES:  The Lord, Jesus used His superior knowledge and love of The Word--for Jesus was and is The Word--to defeat Satan. Notice that The Lord refused to engage any attempt by the Devil to twist scripture.  Matthew 4:1-11 - Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness 4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'” 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you,     and they will lift you up in their hands,     so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'” 7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'” 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” 10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'” 11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. By living in the Word of God, we have been granted the power (through The Holy Spirit and the Lord, Jesus) to utterly demolish lies that stand against God.  2 Corinthians 10:3–5 (ESV) — 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey.  THE NEWS & COMMENT: There is no more bold lie that the enemy attacking the very beginning of the family, with the lies of people being “born in the ‘wrong body.'”. The people who run Joe Biden--pharma, WEF and Back Obama's people--are set to codify this lie into law.  Critic fears Biden Title IX changes will 'destroy women's sports' Senator Josh Hawley did a pretty good job talking with a Berkley radical who gets to call herself a law professor. But, Republicans lost this argument when they accepted the word “transgender” as anyything other than what it is, a feeling people have. Being “assigned ‘male at birth' is no different from being ‘assigned human at birth.'' We need must never accept the words or premise of the enemy, especially when they stand against God's Word.  [AUDIO] - Hawley: “People with the capacity for pregnancy— would that be women?” So-called Expert: “Your line of questioning is transphobic and it opens up trans people to violence.” [AUDIO] - Berkeley Law Professor Khiara Bridges: "Do you believe that men can get pregnant?" - Sen. Josh Hawley: "No, I don't think men can get pregnant." Bridges: "So, you're denying that trans people exist." John Cornyn, fresh from selling out the Second and Fourth amendments and handing billions of dollars to the racist gender-jackers in the government school apparatus, engaged Bridges on life. [AUDIO] -  Sen. Cornyn: "Do you think that a baby that is not yet born—let's say the day before the mother delivers—do you think that baby has value?" Prof. Bridges: "I think that the person with the capacity for pregnancy has value & they should have the ability to control what happens." Google is a very powerful--in a worldly sense--creator and amplifier of the Party's lie. They have promised to delete some kinds of data . . . Google announced it will auto-delete location histories for users that visit abortion clinics. Why isn't other location data subject to the same treatment? And what does this tell us about Google's plans to weaponize user data for politics? . . . which means other kinds--like your visits to gun stores--will be right there on their servers.  The lie that The Party abhors the questioning of elections is self-evident. We need to remember these instances when we argue for election security, an issue that doesn't concern Mitch McConnell in the least . . .  [AUDIO] - In 2017, Rep.
