The Texas Senate approved a bill Wednesday that takes aim at the State Fair of Texas' gun ban. The policy was put in place last year after a gunman shot three fairgoers in 2023. Tthe bill's author, state Sen. Bob Hall, R-Rockwall, said the move denied “citizens their right to self-defense.” The legislation, headed to the Texas House of Representatives, would prevent contractors from banning guns in government-owned public spaces, unless state law says otherwise. In other news, detainees at the Bluebonnet immigrant detention center in the small city of Anson, about 200 miles west of Dallas sent the outside world a message this week: S-O-S; in a surprising alliance, the Texas oil and gas lobby has joined forces with renewable energy developers to sink a proposal that would require all existing solar and wind generators to guarantee they can provide power when needed; nd the Dallas Stars are one win away from advancing out of the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs and ending the Colorado Avalanche's season. The Stars won Game 5 in a convincing fashion to take a 3 games to 2 lead in the series that returns to Denver for Game 6 tonight. NHL teams that hold a 3-2 series lead win the series 79% of the time. In the last 30 years in Dallas, they've had even better results, winning 94.1% of the time with a 16-1 series record after holding the 3-2 advantage. Learn more about your ad choices. Pope Francis, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, has died at the age of 88. During his papacy, Francis challenged the church's deeply rooted norms and made it his mission to change the perception of the Catholic Church around the world. Pope Francis, hours before his death, marked Easter Sunday with an appearance at St. Peter's Basilica. Much to the glee of faithful in the courtyard, Francis rode in the popemobile a mere three weeks after he was released from a five-week life-threatening stay in the hospital. CBS News' Chris Livesay reports from Rome. Tributes from around the world have begun to pour in, including one from Vice President JD Vance, one of the last people to have a meeting with Francis before his death. CBS News' Ed O'Keefe reports from the White House. John Allen, a longtime observer of the Catholic Church and editor of the Catholic news site "The Crux," reacts to Pope Francis' death. Robert (Bob) came to faith as a young man of 17 after viewing the movie “A Thief in the Night” and has never looked back. He was often told that he had to have Jewish blood in his background because of his stance on scriptures (not Jewish as far as he knows). He found the Messianic movement in 2004 when Shoresh David opened a community in Lakeland Florida. He joined soon after and has loved learning about the Feasts of the Lord. Robert is presently making plans to record a new CD called “No Other Place.”Previously Robert spent six years in the U.S. Naval Submarine Force. He is currently the Worship leader and Elder at Etz Chayim Messianic Synagogue, Lakeland Fla.
Measles is one of the most contagious viruses in the world, and as the outbreak in West Texas continues to unfold, questions are circulating about vaccinations — the most infallible tool to protect yourself from infection. Of the 124 cases reported thus far in Texas, the state health department said 119 were in patients who were either unvaccinated, or whose vaccination status was unknown. One unvaccinated child has died. In other news, Saks Global reiterated plans to close the downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus store, adding that it doesn't have key documents from an agreement with a landlord and the city of Dallas for the site; the Texas Senate on Thursday passed a bill to ban the use of courier services that facilitate the sale of Texas Lottery tickets. Senate Bill 28 by Republican Sen. Bob Hall of Edgewood was approved 31-0 amid concerns that couriers have hurt the lottery's reputation; and the explosion of uncertified teachers is a problem — that's the message Texas' education chief brought to lawmakers this week. More than half of brand-new educators last year lacked a state certification, meaning it was impossible to know what kind of training they received. Learn more about your ad choices. Yo no… ¡y a precio asequible!

On this Salcedo Storm Podcast:Conservative Texas State Senator, Bob Hall.
A single sentence in Florida's new K-12 social studies curriculum caused a political uproar: "Instruction includes how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit." People on the left say Florida, under Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, is trying to teach kids that Black people benefited from slavery. People on the right are defending the new standards. But what's omitted from -- or downplayed in -- the African American history section is a far more important problem. The Florida standards almost entirely ignore the centrality of property rights in enslavement. There's no mention of proslavery ideology. The role of racism, while not ignored, may not be sufficiently emphasized. In this episode, historian Bob Hall widens our perspective to understand the complexities of racial slavery in North America.

Imagine if every red state fought COVID fascism the way Florida does. Today, we discuss Florida's decision to recommend against the shots for those under 40 and to demand informed consent for all people about the cardiac risks of the COVID jabs. The genocide is unfolding in plain sight, with instant access to this information, yet both parties have created a tunnel vision dynamic, which I describe, as the key to keeping people misinformed about the most important issues. Later on, I'm joined by Texas state Senator Bob Hall, the hero in fighting COVID fascism in Texas. Unlike Florida, Texas' Department of Health is acting as fascistic as California. Hall discusses his ideas to rein in out-of-control medical boards, pharmacies blocking prescriptions, and hospitals blocking treatment and to push an audit of the COVID shots. Why can't Texas be like Florida? This upcoming legislative session in Texas may be more important than the one in Congress. I think we all know this begins at the top. One could make a movie about Gail Seiler's experience in a Plano, Texas, hospital during the pandemic. Our hospitals have become killing fields. From remdesivir and illegal DNR orders to denial of treatment, forced starvation, and abuse based on vaccination status, Gail experienced the horrors that hundreds of thousands of other Americans suffered in the hospitals. Except, thanks to her husband and help from state Senator Bob Hall, she wound up being forcibly extricated from the hospital. Even though the doctors said she wouldn't last a day longer, she is now perfectly healthy and is trying to raise awareness about the hospital genocide. She volunteers for the Former Feds Group and the organization's COVID-19 Humanity Betrayal Memorial Project, which helps with lawsuits and legislation to fight medical tyranny.
