(listening to with Tanner): How to Trap a Tiger—a story about a girl and her mother and sister who go to live with their grandmother in a small town and there is a mysterious, elusive tiger that she keeps glimpsing. Rooted in Korean folklore, but set in modern times.(listening to by self): Mila 2.0—contemporary YA fiction about an android girl who doesn't originally know she is an android super solider and is now on the run from the government.Finished the Saint of Steel (Paladin) series by T. Kingfisher and they were all so good. Loved them. My favorite series this year! I also finished reading The Magic of Us. Divination is the art of seeking knowledge and wisdom through one's inner knowing or intuition through the use of divination tools like tarot or oracle cards, pendulums, etc. Scrying is a specific divinatory practice that can be practiced with a number of mediums from fire to crystal balls, to clouds, to water, and more — join me to explore the different ways you can practive divination with crystals... Working with crystal scrying tools, objects made from crystal that commonly feature a reflective surface like a Clear Quartz sphere or a Black Obsidian mirror, is a great way to experience the art of gazing into a crystal to receive guidance & wisdom. Scrying divination is a great way to hone your intuition. Developing your intuition helps you fill in the gaps where you don't have all the information or data necessary to make the best possible decision. That doesn't mean you should just follow your intuition without a second thought, but learning to trust your inner guidance, and combining that insight WITH reason and logic is far more practical than following logic alone. Here are a few of my favorite crystal scrying tools and techniques to help you get started with your scrying divination practice.   Crystallomancy - Scrying Divination with Crystal Balls: Crystallomancy, is the art of gazing into a crystal ball to receive guidance and wisdom in the form of images revealed within the sphere. The energy of a sphere represents wholeness and infinite possibility and spheres emit energy in all directions. John Dee's Divination Tools & Obsidian Scrying Mirror at the British Museum Humans have been practicing the art of crystallomancy also known as crystal ball reading, for hundreds – if not thousands of years. One of the most famous crystallomancers was John Dee, advisor to Queen Elizabeth I. Dee practiced his art in the 16th century, but people still know him today for his wise counsel. He relied upon his crystal scrying tools for their ability to reveal hidden truths and offer profound guidance. The British Museum displays Dee's crystal ball and other divination tools, such as his Obsidian scrying mirror. Tips for Selecting Your Crystal Ball: When choosing a crystal ball to work with for scrying, it's important to select one that will allow you to see into the depths of the crystal. Quartz-based minerals (like Clear Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Amethyst, etc.) typically work best for this and are also great amplifiers of energy, but there are many suitable transparent stones available (like some Calcites, Fluorite, etc.). These transparent to translucent stones let you gaze into the crystal to explore the sphere's inner landscape for symbols and images in the stone's fissures, fractures, and inclusions. Opaque stones (like Jaspers), however, typically aren't recommended for scrying as they limit your gaze to the very surface of the stone. One common exception is Black Obsidian, which has such a glassy surface, it allows you to scry using the exterior surface of the stone, rather than the interior of the crystal…(Obsidian will be  covered in more detail in the next section as we dive deeper into exploring divination with crystals.) For example, there would be quite a big difference in attempting to scry with an opaque stone like Unakite compared one that is transparent like Ametrine. Ametrine's transparence really lets you view into the crystal, see into the depths of the crystal, whereas the Unakite would really only allow you to view the surface of the stone which would make scrying much more difficult, particularly for a beginner. Discover the 2024 Crystal and Stone Allies during this episode. Welcome 2024 and Happy New Year, my friend. I feel like I've had my eye on this year for quite some time. It may be because twenty-four is my favorite number, but I also have a sense that this is a collectively significant year. It feels like energy will be moving forward in unexpected ways. Clear Quartz and Selenite are the 2024 crystal allies for the year. They offer a vibrant light energy that activates our inner light and supports us in anchoring our light here on the earth. Yule 2023 :-) Quick Snapshot ... 1.      Yule is typically around December 21st each year and goes through the 1st of January.  It's directly tied to the Winter Solstice. 2.      Colors for Yule will be Red, Green, Silver, Gold, White and Blue. 3.     Crystals & Stones for Yule are the Bloodstone, Clear Quartz, Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies and Garnets. 4.      Herbs & Flowers will be our thistle, chamomile, ivy, mistletoe, peppermint, rosemary and sage. 5.      For our oils and incense you'll want to use cedar, cinnamon, cloves, frankincense, juniper, myrrh, peppermint, pine and sweet orange. 6.      Trees for Yule are cedar, juniper, pine, holly, fir, apple, birch, chestnut, and citrus. 7.      Deities are The Oak King and the Holly King. 8.      Great things to do for Yule are going to be making a yule log (again that is going to be a piece of wood / a log that has decorations like holly or mistletoe, pinecones, evergreens, and 3 candles.  You can use it as your table's centerpiece and then burn it in your bone fire.  Even more powerful if you have any remnants of lasts years fire with your 2022 yule log in it …. To start the new fire this year.  If you don't … be sure to save a part of this year's fire you so can start your 2024 yule fire with it). 9.      Decorating a yule tree is perfect for the holiday …. Even better if it's a live tree that you can plant in the Spring.  Be sure to top it with a five-point star representing the 5 elements.   10.  Other good things to do for Yule are going to be making a witch's bell, bake something for the holidays, make or buy gifts for your loved ones, decorate your alter, celebrate with fire with your candles and fireplace (of course if you can ….
