À l'occasion de sa revue de presse jeudi matin en remplacement de Paul Arcand, Jean-Sébastien Hammal aborde la mort de la fillette de Granby, alors que tout le monde l’a échappé, selon la coroner Géhane Kamel. La coroner a commenté mercredi son rapport sur le décès de la fillette en 2019. Six ans plus tard, elle constate que des démarches ont été faites, mais que les écoles, la DPJ, le système de santé, la police et le Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales travaillent encore en silo. Devant le constat que les dossiers en attente sont aussi nombreux, elle réclame du gouvernement, de s'assurer que la DPJ dispose de davantage de ressources pour aider les enfants adéquatement. La coroner termine son rapport avec une lettre adressée à la petite de sept ans, dans laquelle elle dit espérer qu'elle trouve un certain repos. Ce geste a été très apprécié de la famille. In this episode of the Locked On Browns Podcast we discuss Donovan Peoples-Jones potential to have a breakout year in 2023. DPJ had a career year last year and looks to improve on those numbers with the help of QB Deshaun Watson. As NFL free agency rages on, or more appropriately rolls on like a slow-moving babbling brook, the Cleveland Browns have made a number of moves to improve their defense while retaining Ethan Pocic as their starting center on offense.One move that many are wondering about is whether the team will add another receiver to their mix. Amari Cooper was a big addition last year with Donovan Peoples-Jones playing the second receiver role well. Finding a third receiver is still something fans and media would like to see. Whether the Browns value that as much is yet to be determined. While Cooper has been well-paid throughout his career, as a sixth-round selection Peoples-Jones is still waiting for that to happen. He is scheduled for free agency at the end of the 2023 NFL season unless Cleveland gets an extension done with him before then. In 2022, DPJ earned just under $900,000. The NFL announced the top 25 players who earned performance-based based distributions for 2022. PBP is described by the league as:Under the Performance-Based Pay program, a fund is created and used as a supplemental form of player compensation based on a comparison of playing time to salary. Players become eligible to receive a bonus distribution in any regular season in which they play at least one official down. In general, players with higher playtime percentages and lower salaries benefit most from the pool. Last year, Peoples-Jones got the 11th largest bonus in the NFL at $717,642. Marcus Epps of the Philadelphia Eagles topped the list with $880,354. The bonuses do not impact teams' salary cap numbers at all. As NFL free agency rages on, or more appropriately rolls on like a slow-moving babbling brook, the Cleveland Browns have made a number of moves to improve their defense while retaining Ethan Pocic as their starting center on offense. One move that many are wondering about is whether the team will add another receiver to their mix. Amari Cooper was a big addition last year with Donovan Peoples-Jones playing the second receiver role well. Finding a third receiver is still something fans and media would like to see. Whether the Browns value that as much is yet to be determined. While Cooper has been well-paid throughout his career, as a sixth-round selection Peoples-Jones is still waiting for that to happen. He is scheduled for free agency at the end of the 2023 NFL season unless Cleveland gets an extension done with him before then. In 2022, DPJ earned just under $900,000. The NFL announced the top 25 players who earned performance-based based distributions for 2022. PBP is described by the league as: Under the Performance-Based Pay program, a fund is created and used as a supplemental form of player compensation based on a comparison of playing time to salary. Players become eligible to receive a bonus distribution in any regular season in which they play at least one official down. In general, players with higher playtime percentages and lower salaries benefit most from the pool. Last year, Peoples-Jones got the 11th largest bonus in the NFL at $717,642. Marcus Epps of the Philadelphia Eagles topped the list with $880,354. The bonuses do not impact teams' salary cap numbers at all. Deshaun Watson admitted that his return to Houston last week for the Browns' 27-14 victory over the Texans hit him more emotionally than expected. “Yeah, I think last week, it was a lot,” Watson said Thursday. “The anticipation to just be back on the field, the anticipation of going back to my former team, the anticipation of playing against former teammates and being in front of a crowd that used to cheer for me at the time. So all that stuff was definitely, it was a lot. I'm human so I definitely have things running through my mind and through my just soul in general. Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt admitted that Watson had a lot on his plate in his return to Houston, where he spent the first five seasons of his career, and where most of the more than two dozen allegations of sexual misconduct took place.Watson, who completed 12 of 31 attempts for 131 yards with no touchdowns and one interception for a 53.4 passer rating, has reason to believe he'll be a lot better in Week 2 in Cincinnati than he was in Houston, where many of his passes were low, and he bounced one at Amari Cooper's feet. He also rushed a throw in the end zone and was picked off by safety Jalen Pitre on a pass intended for Cooper. Watson acknowledged that sprinting from drill to drill on Wednesday was an effort to simulate the speed of the game and get his mind and body in synch. “Most definitely,” he said. “Just mind, body, everything. Just getting my conditioning going, wearing pads running, being able to move because in practice and training camp, I didn't really scramble much, so in a live action being able to have to scramble and then come back and then do another play, call the play in the huddle, operate, sometimes hand it off, sometimes do a pass play. I gotta make sure that my conditioning is up. So any way I can just try to improve that, that's what I'm going to do.”Given the 700 days off, everything was adjustment, especially in the place he called home for five years. “I wouldn't say (the game was) fast, it was just mostly just being able to adjust,” he said. “Like I said before, just really just the conditioning level, being able to go out there and operate, see things like I've been seeing it before and then get on the same page with the whole offensive staff of what we want to do for the game plan to execute.” As an anticipatory thrower, Watson found it tough to gauge the timing of receivers Donovan Peoples-Jones, Cooper, David Bell and Anthony Schwartz. This game, he'll also have tight end David Njoku back from his knee injury. “Every receiver is different, especially on different routes with DPJ and Coop and D. Bell, all those guys are different route runners. So being able to know how they're gonna come out, when they're gonna come out, how they're gonna come out and where they're gonna be, it takes a little bit of time. But I gotta be able to adjust quick, especially if you want to be successful. And that's my mindset is just trying to get extra reps, watch extra tape and just let them know what I'm thinking and try to see what they're thinking on certain routes.” Learn more about your ad choices.
