Dale and Amy take Bless Your ‘Hardt live from JR Motorsports Fan Day, and the chaos starts almost immediately. Amy recaps getting pulled over in front of the school drop-off line, Dale shares stories from the Red Bull Soapbox Derby in LA, and somehow The Band Perry becomes a full conversation topic. The crowd joins in for a live round of Red Flag/Green Flag covering ketchup on eggs, phones face down at dinner, sharing toothbrushes, sleeping with socks on, and more. Dale also talks about his latest attempt at becoming a wine guy, including drinking an entire bottle of Pinot Grigio on the boat while still not knowing how to pronounce it. Plus, fan questions lead to stories about doing the girls' hair, Dale's cameo in Cars, Pixar's hidden speakeasy sheds, and the future liver mush vs. tomato sandwich taste test challenge that now has to happen. It's a packed live episode full of random stories, crowd reactions, and complete chaos from start to finish. Grab a High Rock and enjoy. When money is tight you might reasonably expect shoppers will turn to second-hand stores instead. However, the Director of the Salvation Army stores said they've seen the opposite, describing the drop as 'significant' and a 'shocker'. ANZ card spending data backs that up. Spending for second-hand goods fell 3.2 percent in March and 3.3 percent in April. There are 125 Salvation Army Family Stores across the country, Gareth Marshall the National Director spoke to Melissa Chan-Green.

About two thirds of the US-Mexico border is along the Rio Grande, and the Trump Administration is working to install hundreds of miles of buoy barriers in the river. Now residents of border towns are raising the alarm over how these buoys could impact wildlife, restrict access to the river and sever cultural ties. Also, news media outlets are retreating from covering climate change, according to the Media and Climate Change Observatory at the University of Colorado Boulder, which has been tracking this trend for decades. They report that since a peak in 2021, climate news stories across the globe have dropped nearly 40 percent. And the poems in Aimee Nezhukumatathil's new book Night Owl offer a window into the magic of nature at night and a light in the darkness. She shares selected poems from the collection and talks about how poetry can help us grapple with ecological loss and celebrate natural wonders alike. --- Interested in gaining hands-on experience with producing a radio show and podcast? Rob Ludeman is back. When he first came on The Struggle Bubble in Season 1, his son Matt was a two-sport senior at Los Gatos High — starting at center in football playoffs and on the mount for baseball's post season. Matt's now a freshman pitcher at University of the Pacific, and Rob stopped by to discuss what it took to get there and his takeaways as a father. The recruiting process that came down to two late-season outings and a phone call between coaches. The D1-vs-JUCO decision that almost went the other way. The summer training programs that started the day he signed. The daily grind of college baseball where every hitter in the lineup was the best player at their high school and some of your teammates are 24 years old.Rob talks about what travel ball actually contributed (zero recruiting videos watched, for the record), why multi-sport athletes have an edge, and what he'd tell himself ten years ago: put the scorebook away and just watch the game.If you're a parent in the thick of youth sports wondering what the end of this road actually looks like — this is the episode.

Fully & Completely: Redux - World ContainerBob Rock, a divisive record, and the Tragically Hip song that might just be their best. jD and Greg came around. Hard.October 17th, 2006. The Tragically Hip released "World Container" - their first of two records with producer Bob Rock, and one of the most divisive albums in the band's catalog. Twenty years later, jD and Greg LeGros are back for Season 2 of Fully & Completely: Redux, and the verdict is in: this record is better than you remember. In this episode, jD and Greg dig into the landscape of 2006 - the Wild West of music piracy, the indie pop boom, Arctic Monkeys blowing up on MySpace, and a straight-ahead Canadian rock band trying to stay relevant without chasing a trend. Then they get into the album itself, track by track: the stadium-sized riff of 'You're Not the Ocean', the disco-beat weirdness of 'The Lonely End of the Rink', the complicated love letter that is 'In View', the cool-as-hell swagger of 'Fly', and the title track 'World Container' - which gets called one of the best Tragically Hip songs of all time. No argument here.Greg also quit coffee. It almost killed him. We talk about that too. This is Fully & Completely: Redux. Season 2. We're back."I missed the boat completely. Because this song is just perfect."Greg LeGros from Toronto - co-host of Fully & Completely and the person most likely to make you reconsider a record you wrote off. Longtime NFL scout Jon Cooper joins 365 Sports to break down what he's seeing from this year's draft class and why there's such a noticeable drop off at the quarterback position behind the top prospect. Cooper shares insight on Ty Simpson's development timeline, how NIL is impacting draft decisions for players returning to school, and where Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson fits as a potential developmental prospect at the next level. He also discusses standout talents like Reuben Bain, the growing importance of wingspan over arm length in evaluations, and why depth at positions like cornerback and wide receiver could shape how teams approach this year's draft. #nfl #nfldraft #nfc #afc #nflcombine Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode of Crime Bit with Danelle Hallan, we examine the 2011 disappearance of 19-year-old Carina Saunders in the Oklahoma City metro. After struggling with meth and unstable housing, Karina was last reported after being dropped off near a Taco Bell, then her phone went quiet. As family searched, police worked conflicting accounts, a threatening text message, and names that kept resurfacing in the early investigation. Why it matters is how fast a missing persons case can be shaped by uncertain timelines and unreliable witnesses. Part 1 follows the first reports, early leads, and the questions that set the direction of the search.
In Episode 229 of the Pu'u Muay Thai Podcast, Jonathan Puu breaks down a pattern almost no one talks about — the two-year Muay Thai drop-off, when many students quietly disappear right as they're getting good. This isn't the beginner phase. It's not fear, soreness, or lack of toughness. In fact, most people who quit around the two-year mark are more skilled and confident than ever. What they're actually experiencing isn't failure — it's transition. In this episode, Jonathan explains:Why year one is survival and year two becomes an identity crisisThe psychology of conscious competence and false plateausWhy your original reason for training often expires around two yearsHow progress becomes quieter — but deeper — at this stageThe difference between familiarity and masteryWhy most people don't need motivation, but a new targetHow mentors, environment, and community prevent long-term dropoutWhy this phase is the most important retention window for coachesJonathan also shares his own near-exit from Muay Thai at the two-year mark, what stopped him from quitting, and how staying through that transition changed the entire direction of his life.If you're around two years into training and wondering “what's next,” this episode explains why you're not stuck — you're standing at the doorway to the next phase of Muay Thai.Support the showLeave a message or text us 24/7/365!+1-805-456-3316

In this episode of Crime Bit with Danelle Hallan, we look into the disappearance of Nguyet “Wiki” Phung, a 19-year-old student who vanished on May 9, 1991. She left home at 6:30 a.m., met her boyfriend Ken, and was dropped at Shoreline Community College by 7:20, but she never reported to her Seattle job and never returned home.Investigators focused on Wiki's last known movements and Ken's statement, which included many names and claims that detectives said they could not confirm. The case matters because early contradictions can shape how a missing person search unfolds and small gaps can become decades of uncertainty. Wiki remains missing.

0:00 - The Broncos do one thing really well. And the Patriots do that thing poorly. It's one angle that could give Denver the edge in the AFC Championship. 11:14 - The dropoff in abilities between Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham isn't that steep! And that's not an insult to Bo. That's more of a compliment to Stiddy.Friend of the Program Kyle Keefe texted Moser during this segment and made a prediction: the Broncos will win the Super Bowl with Stiddy at QB, then we'll have a full-blown QB controversy between him and Nix all offseason long.31:18 - We're trying to predict Sunday's game as best we can, but in reality, we're in uncharted territory. We've never seen this before. A QB who hasn't attempted a pass in a regular season game in over 2 years is starting in the AFC Championship? Completely and totally unprecedented.

A sudden decrease in your conversion rate after raising your rate could indicate that your hourly rate is now too high. If you notice that fewer clients are retaining your services after a rate increase, it may signal that you’ve priced yourself out of reach for your typical clientele. This drop-off could result from clients being unable to afford the higher rate or finding legal services elsewhere for a lower cost. To address this issue, you can consider adjusting your rate back down or focus on marketing to attract clients who can afford your new rate, leading to better conversion rates with clients who value your services. What are some indicators of collection challenges that suggest your hourly rate is too high? If you start experiencing collection challenges such as clients disputing line items on invoices, questioning charges, or delaying payments after a rate increase, it could be a sign that your hourly rate is too high. Clients becoming slower to pay or stopping work prematurely in a project or case may indicate that they are hesitant to continue at the elevated rate. These challenges can arise when clients perceive a significant increase in costs and may result in them seeking legal services elsewhere. Monitoring these collection issues can help you assess if your rate aligns with your clients’ expectations and financial capabilities. How does direct client feedback indicate that your hourly rate might be too high? Immediate feedback from clients in response to a rate increase, expressing concerns about the substantial raise or questioning their ability to afford your services, can be a clear indication that your hourly rate is too high. Clients openly sharing their thoughts on the rate increase can provide valuable insights into whether the adjustment aligns with their expectations and budget. Building trust with your clients by discussing potential rate changes beforehand and seeking their input can help maintain strong client relationships and ensure that your pricing remains competitive and fair. Client feedback serves as a valuable gauge to determine if your hourly rate is in line with market expectations and client needs.

Hour 3 dives into the fallout from the Dolphins' decision to bench Tua Tagovailoa. Joe and Dave discuss Tua's professional demeanor with the media despite a season full of questionable press conference moments, examining whether he or Mike McDaniel has lost confidence in himself and how the game plan reflected that. WR Jaylen Waddle's apparent frustration is noted, along with broader organizational concerns, including inconsistent scouting and missed draft picks. Kim Bokamper joins to critique Tua's sideline behavior, Mike McDaniel's frequent early timeouts, and the challenges of a coaching staff with too many voices, painting a picture of a franchise still searching for stability.

In Part 2 of this heartfelt and practical series, Shelly continues her conversation with parent coach Diana Davidson — and this time, they're moving beyond the emotions of drop-off and diving into what actually happens next.Once the dorm room is set up and the goodbye tears dry, a brand-new season of parenting begins. The rhythms change, communication shifts, and the “How often should I check in?” questions start rolling in. And if you've ever struggled with things like Life360, texting boundaries, or knowing how to support your college student without hovering — you're not alone.Diana offers real-life strategies for navigating this new dynamic with confidence, peace, and connection. From communication rhythms to practical boundaries to fun creative ways to stay close across the miles, this episode gives you tools you can use today.Whether your student calls every day or hasn't texted you back all week, this conversation will help you build trust, stay grounded, and embrace this next chapter with intention.Key TakeawaysParenting from a distance requires a shift from manager to guide on the side.Every child has different communication rhythms — honor their personality, not someone else's.Before setting expectations, have a simple conversation: “What kind of communication feels good for you?”Boundaries create trust — and reduce anxiety on both sides. If Life360 causes stress or control, ask: Is this for my child or for me?Simple connection points (photos, pets, plants, playlists) can keep relationships warm without pressure.Your child grows when you give them space — and your confidence grows too.Links and ResourcesConnect with Diana: https://dianadavidsoncoaching.comDiana's free parent care package“They're in College… Now What?” free webinarJoin the Simple Shifts newsletter: https://midlifemadesimplepodcast.com Resources:Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/shellyniehaus/Simple Shifts Newsletter: https://midlifemadesimplepodcast.com/tipsWomen Entrepreneurs In Prayer Call - https://midlifemadesimplepodcast.com/prayer
This week on Midlife Made Simple, we're diving deep into the emotional side of launching your kids into college life — the part no campus tour or glossy brochure prepares you for.Shelly shares her own recent experience dropping off both boys this August, and parent coach Diana Davidson joins the conversation to unpack the pride, grief, identity shifts, and unexpected waves of emotion that come with this season.Diana gives language to what so many moms feel: that emotions are love in motion, that you can hold both joy and sadness at the same time, and that your connection with your child doesn't end at drop-off — even if your role shifts.Whether you're weeks away from move-in day or still adjusting to the quiet, this episode will remind you that you're not alone, and that God meets you in every part of this transition.Key TakeawaysYour emotions aren't weakness — they're love in motion. You can feel proud and heartbroken at the same time.Social media can amplify extreme responses — your feelings are valid no matter where you fall on the spectrum.Grief and gratitude can coexist during big transitions.Your child's emotions are connected to yours — when you care for yourself, you care for them. You didn't lose your connection at drop-off; it simply changes shape. You were a person before you were a parent — rediscovering yourself is part of the journey.Don't miss next week's episode, where we shift from the heart work into the practical work — how to parent from a distance, set healthy boundaries, communicate well, and stay connected without hovering.Links and Resources:Connect with Diana: dianadavidsoncoaching.comDiana's Parent Care PackageDiana's webinar: They're in College…Now What?Subscribe to the Simple Shifts Newsletter: midlifemadesimplepodcast.com Resources:Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/shellyniehaus/Simple Shifts Newsletter: https://midlifemadesimplepodcast.com/tipsWomen Entrepreneurs In Prayer Call - https://midlifemadesimplepodcast.com/prayer

Few things break a parent’s heart like leaving your toddler at childcare while they cry, scream, and beg you not to go. Is this the same as “cry it out”? Is it harming their development—or just part of growing up? In this episode, Justin and Kylie unpack the science of separation anxiety and share practical, compassionate strategies to ease drop-off stress—for your child and for you. KEY POINTS Why toddler separation anxiety is different from cry-it-out sleep training The role of support networks, emotional development, and cognition in how kids cope Two critical signs that reveal if your child is actually okay When to worry: What ongoing distress might really mean Practical strategies: routines, comfort items, quick goodbyes, and positive pick-up rituals QUOTE OF THE EPISODE “Separation hurts—but if your child settles quickly, connects with others, and greets you with joy at the end of the day, you can breathe easier. They’re okay.” RESOURCES MENTIONED Little People, Big Feelings [The Summit] The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn – a beautiful story for easing separation anxiety ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS Stick to routine – predictability builds security. Use comfort anchors – a hand-kiss, fabric scrap, or pocket token. Keep drop-offs short – no lingering, quick and confident goodbye. Plan pick-up rituals – a special “after care” routine your child can look forward to. Check in with carers – ask how quickly your child settles and how they engage during the day. Oh friends, we did it. We officially dropped our daughter off at college, and let me tell you—it was a rollercoaster of emotions I wasn't totally prepared for. From the frantic week of packing command strips and last-minute Target runs, to the heartbreaking last night at home when both kids ended up crying in our bed, this season of life has been full of tears, laughter, and a whole lot of love.In this episode, Penn and I share what those first few days after drop-off really felt like (Spoiler: I “took to the bed” for two days in the words of Leanne Morgan), the random little things that triggered my tears (like buying three airline tickets instead of four), and how our community's comments and calls reminded me that healthy birds leave the nest. We also talk about the surprising perks of this new stage of life and the silly distractions that are helping us cope, from cookie cakes and dance classes to discovering the world's greatest '90s radio station. Most of all, this conversation is about feeling everything—the joy, the loss, the pride, and the love. If you've been through a college drop-off (or are bracing for one), I hope our reflections—and a few laughs—make you feel a little less alone. Also a giant hug to our community here on Laugh Lines that wrote us the nicest notes and left the sweetest voicemails. Thank you so much.
