In Round 1 (19th overall), the Giants selected Justin Pugh, a tackle from Syracuse. Pugh spent his first five seasons with the Giants before signing a five-year, $44.8 million contract with the Cardinals. He returned to the Giants midseason last year. Over his six years with the Giants, Pugh played in 75 games, all as a starter. His career spans 11 seasons with 132 games and 131 starts. Pugh got married in April 2022 and has been active on YouTube, hinting at plans for life after football. Some Giants fans hope the team re-signs him for the 2024 season, although he is currently a free agent. In Round 2 (49th overall), the Giants picked Jonathan Hankins, a defensive tackle from Ohio State. Hankins became a starter in his second year and developed into an above-average player. He played all four years of his rookie contract with the Giants, appearing in 52 games with 41 starts, recording 140 tackles, 10 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, and 26 quarterback hits. After leaving the Giants, Hankins played for the Colts, Raiders, and Cowboys. He recently signed with the Seahawks for his 13th NFL season. His career totals include 152 games, 134 starts, 403 tackles, 17.5 sacks, and 50 quarterback hits. He got married in 2023 to a luxury realtor. In Round 3 (81st overall), the Giants selected Damontre Moore, a defensive end from Texas A&M. Initially expected to be a top-10 pick, Moore's draft stock fell after a poor combine performance. He played nearly three seasons with the Giants, recording 43 tackles and 8.5 sacks in 42 games. His tenure with the Giants ended due to multiple issues, including fights with teammates and immature behavior. Moore became a journeyman, playing for eight NFL teams, one AAF team, and three CFL teams. His NFL career includes 66 games with 11 sacks. Moore is married with two children. In Round 4 (110th overall), the Giants drafted Ryan Nassib, a quarterback from Syracuse. Nassib was considered a potential successor to Eli Manning but failed to impress. He played five games for the Giants, completing 9 of 10 passes for 128 yards and one touchdown. After leaving the Giants, Nassib spent time with the Saints and Jaguars but never saw the field again. He got married in 2016.In Round 5 (152nd overall), the Giants chose Cooper Taylor, a defensive back from Richmond. Taylor, the son of former Georgia Tech and Baltimore Colts quarterback Jim Bob Taylor, had his college career disrupted by Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. He played in 16 games for the Giants, recording 15 tackles. Taylor is now an investor at Salem Investment Council. In Round 7 (225th overall), the Giants picked Eric Herman, an offensive lineman from Ohio. Herman never played in an NFL regular-season game but spent time on several practice squads. He was suspended for four games in 2014 for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy. He last played for the Colts' practice squad in 2016.In Round 7 (253rd overall), the Giants selected Michael Cox, a running back from Massachusetts. Cox played two seasons with the Giants, rushing 26 times for 76 yards and catching five passes for 21 yards. His career ended due to a failed ankle surgery, leading to a lawsuit that awarded him $28.5 million in 2022.Support the Show. All Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. Oregon Health and Science University launched its Long COVID-19 Program more than a year ago. In that time, the program's doctors, nurses and other health workers have seen and treated nearly a thousand patients. The medical profession still has a lot to learn about long COVID-19. Even the definition of the condition is less than straightforward. The CDC says it considers the condition present if a patient has lingering symptoms 28 days after infection, while the World Health Organization says a patient has long COVID-19 if symptoms persist for two months. Doctors and researchers have been amassing more knowledge as the number of patients increases. OHSU's program was the first in Oregon but it, like those in other states, it doesn't have the capacity to treat every patient who is referred. We learn more from Eric Herman, a physician who leads the program and neuropsychiatrist Jordan Anderson.

It's been a year and some change since the first reported COVID-19 case in the United States. Since then we've learned a lot about the virus, and while vaccination rates and loosening restrictions suggest that the worst of coronavirus may soon be behind us, there's still much about it that we don't understand. Recent upticks in concerning variants like the B.1.1.7 are being studied, and we still don't quite understand when or if we'll reach herd immunity.  And there's another big gap in our knowledge: the long-term physiological health effects of COVID-19. Recently, Oregon Health and Science University launched its Long COVID-19 Program, aimed at studying and providing comprehensive care for patients who have experienced COVID-19 symptoms for more than a month. For this week's episode of Footnotes, we talked to Eric Herman, the program's lead physician, about the types of symptoms folks are experiencing and what this new program hopes to learn from studying these so-called “long haulers.”GuestEric Herman, lead physician at OHSU's Long COVID-19 ProgramLinksCOVID Variants in OregonOHSU Long COVID-19 Program

He's the owner/founder of Kinetic Pets, a practice dedicated to getting animals back into motion and recover faster, as well as a Staff Surgeon at the Gainesville FL location of Blue Pearl Vet Specialists. Listen to hear how he tackles getting animals back to motion with therapeutic approaches, including the PiezoWave2 Vet. Enjoy!

Podcast – The Children's Hour

This week on The Children's Hour, we explore the genre of science fiction with our musical friends from Ramah, New Mexico, MeriDean. This type of storytelling allows our imagination to become immersed in other worldly places, with advanced technologies, on exoplanets, or flying through space, and using actual science to help us believe the impossible. With excerpts of famous works of "Sci-Fi" like The War of the Worlds, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Slaughterhouse Five, and original pieces recorded by masterful storytellers, we immerse ourselves in futuristic fantasy. Plus the kids in the Extinction Diaries update us about the Sumatran Tiger, and how our use of palm oil is hurting their chance for survival. Photo by Brian McGowan All of this is mixed with great music by Tim and the Space Cadets, Brave Combo, Joanie Leeds And The Nightlights, The Okee Dokee Brothers, They Might Be Giants, Dino O'Dell, Justin Roberts, The Mosaic Project, Eric Herman, and others. Here are our Kids Crew and listener Science Fiction book suggestions for kids: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card Binti by Nnedi Okorafor, PhD Dark Rising series by Susan Cooper The Giver by Lois Lowry WondLa trilogy by Tony DiTerlizzi Terry Pratchett's young adult books Downbelow Station and Merchanter's Luck by C. Ladies and gentleman of the BizzleCast, I am SO thrilled to have one of my closest friends, long time partner in the world music biz, and all around smart and super cool dude ERIC HERMAN back on the podcast. Not too much politics this time around (although we do actually bring a message of hope to y’all despite all the crappiness!), but we are talking HOCKEY — yes, hockey — with this Happy Canadian, before launching into a rapid fire Modiba update, highlighting Modiba veteran BOMBINO — he of the Sultan of Swing from the Sahel — as well as up and comers Ladama. And just as an extra treat, I got so FIERY clips of both artists for you wonderful people, as well as a tease of other Modiba projects around the bend and a future, more in-depth podcasts about the ups and downs (sadly mostly downs) of the current state of immigration and the global music industry in 2018, even as more and more insane talents pop up all over the world. This is a fun and, given my track record, fairly concise podcast. And again — HOCKEY. How can you resits Hockey AND guitar shredding from West Africa. Enjoy my people!
