This episode checks in with Choristers Guild. I began my ministry in church music in the late-1970s and early 1980s, and Choristers Guild was a primary source I turned to for wonderful and high-quality children's Christian music. Back then, church music was organized around graded choirs and music ensembles. But during the mid-1970s and early 1980s, the "seeker" churches grew rapidly and with them the use of "contemporary" Christian music. During the 1990s "contemporary" Christian music became dominant. The result, often, was the loss of graded choir programs. In its origins, Choristers Guild had a strong focus on children's music. This episode seeks to learn of the state of things in church music and how Choristers Guild is navigating the challenges of the current situation with Christianity in the United States and music ministry. My guests are Katie Houts and Mark Burrows. Katie has worked with Mark in editing some of his music pieces. Katie Houts is the Sacred Choral and Curriculum Editor for Choristers Guild. Serving CG since 2013, Katie curates and edits sacred choral anthems, collections, musicals, curriculum, and teaching resources; she also serves on the faculty of the Choristers Guild Institute. She studied music at Wartburg College (Waverly, IA), where she majored in Church Music (Organ) and Religion. She has served in ELCA, UCC, and UMC congregations as Director of Music, Worship Curator, Organist, and Children's Choir Director. Katie is a published composer, professional accompanist, and a frequent clinician at sacred conferences throughout the country. She currently serves on ACDA's National Committee for Composition Initiatives, working to support and champion the work of living choral composers. Katie is based in Salt Lake City, where she leads choral ensembles throughout the community, including Rise Up Children's Choir - Utah's premiere contemporary vocal performance group for ages 6-18. She conducts RUCC's intermediate ensemble, Rise Up Ignite, and is the assistant director and accompanist for the advanced mixed children's choir. She also teaches second grade music and directs the 5th and 6th grade choirs at Wasatch Charter School (Holladay, UT). What Choristers Guild and other publishers say about Mark Burrows is this: Mark Burrows (b. 1971) is a composer and clinician whose works are published by many major houses, including The Lorenz Corporation, Shawnee Press, Abingdon Press, Choristers Guild and Warner Brothers. Several works, such as the Gettin' Down with Mama Goose Series, The Body Electric, and Outside the Lines top many best-seller lists. Known to little listeners as “Mister Mark” he tours the country performing concerts for children and families. His three children's albums – You've got a Song, Go Ape!, and Go, Galileo! – have won a total of nine national awards. His songs can be heard on XM Radio, and one song, Amazon Rock, was recently recorded by Nick Records for a Dora the Explorer album. Mark is currently the Director of Children's Ministries at First United Methodist Church – Fort Worth, Texas, where he leads the weekly Children's Message, a monthly worship service for families called Children First, and directs the 65-voice Youth Choir. Mark received his undergraduate degree in music education from Southern Methodist University, and his graduate degree in conducting from Texas Christian University. He lives in Fort Worth with his wife, Nina, and their two daughters, Emma and Grace. What Mark prefers to say about himself is this: Mark loves traveling the country reminding people how amazing they are and how, together, they can do amazing things! While Mark does not have perfect pitch, he does have “perfect dynamics.” He can tell, just by listening, if a piece of music is loud or soft. Mark loves cinnamon rolls and tacos but can't stand peas. He's a Ravenclaw, and he adores classical music (especially Haydn for his sense of humor).

They are joining us from the Jersey Shore and are experts on the topic of GeoFencing.  Right now it is a little known strategy that less than 1% of the market is using, and those who access it early are going to receive the benefits of lower cost of acquisition and higher conversion. Ernesto Cullari and Barbara Wardell have been able to turn complete industries upside down with this market disrupting strategy   Barbara Wardell is a seasoned marketing and advertising professional who transitioned from a successful career in the specialty medicine industry to become a disruptor, supporting small businesses.   Guiding her geofencing ad agency, Cullari & Wardell, Barbara embraces a growth hacker mindset that strategically focuses on identifying and amplifying her clients' strengths while pinpointing weaknesses in the competition, utilizing GPS location data. This approach results in a significant and measurable impact on foot traffic and online engagement, making her efforts truly game-changing and successful. Beyond her business endeavors, Barbara is a proud mother of two exceptional young men. She harmoniously balances her dedication as a businesswoman with a passion for a healthy lifestyle, philanthropy, and spending quality time with family and friends.   Ernesto Cullari is a trailblazing Ad Man in the data-intense field of geofencing advertising, where he and Barbara have turned complete industries upside down. Each month, they drive over 5,000 satellite-verified in-store visits to small businesses all across the US, Canada, and Australia. Ernesto is a multi-talented creative who has achieved success in various fields. He is an ASCAP songwriter, as well as a producer and vocal coach. Ernesto has co-written and co-produced a number one hit that remained in the Top Ten for over 16 weeks on Disney's XM Radio. He was also a candidate for the U.S. Congress and an editorial writer for Fox News and other publications for over a decade.    Ernesto worked as a surgical medical device representative for 11 years before leaving to pursue a career in marketing and advertising. Ernesto quickly broke into food, beauty, and commercial photography and directing with clients like The Original Soup Man, Indigo Hotel, and Hynt Beauty. He was an early adopter of using automation and gaming technologies in advertising, which led him to geofencing, offering him the opportunity to merge his creative side with his analytical mind. Ernesto leverages both worlds on behalf of his ad clients.     Barbara Wardell and Ernesto Cullari shared in this episode: The topic of geofencing and its relevance to small to medium-sized businesses. How geofencing is crucial for identifying target demographics and reaching specific markets effectively. How geofencing aids in introducing brands to new markets. How the success of a campaign is measured by analyzing visits to targeted locations. How to use the data obtained by geofencing in order to tailor services and messages to specific groups effectively. The importance of focusing on one task at a time for business success. The importance of maintaining a positive outlook and how perseverance is crucial for overcoming challenges. A discussion on leveraging digital platforms to reach target audiences effectively. An emphasis on budgeting for marketing efforts to drive business growth. How to identify networking opportunities highlighted for business expansion and growth. Their Life-Changing Questions:   How many songs do I need to write vs how many surgeries I need to be in  on to buy one of these mansions? How productive do I need to be to get that mansion? What do I do now? What is the positive out of this? And much more…    Resources Mentioned In The Show: https://cwadagency.com/ Cullarimedia.com If you would like more insights on profit maximization for your business, visit www.ProfitHive.com.au

Have you ever felt lost in your own life? Wondering who you truly are beneath all the roles and expectations? How do you rediscover yourself and build the confidence to live authentically? In this inspiring episode, I am joined by Leah Beltz, a passionate Co-Active coach and skilled facilitator with over 23 years of experience across global organizations. She is the founder of Honor The Space and creates a space for people to feel seen, heard, challenged, and supported in their growth, helping them live with more clarity, confidence, and connection to their purpose.  Today, Leah shares her journey of self-discovery, how she found her authentic self through The DigⓇ method, and how she now helps others do the same. She discusses the importance of knowing your history to understand your path, the unique process of The DigⓇ, and how creating space for yourself and others can lead to personal growth. Leah's story is one of overcoming fear, embracing vulnerability, and stepping into her true self. Listen now to start your journey toward living a more authentic and confident life! --- Listen to the podcast here: Rediscovering Your Authentic Self To Thrive with Leah Beltz Welcome to Action's Antidotes, your antidote to the mindset that keeps you settling for less. I'm a big fan of music. I'm a particularly big fan of Pitbull, I listened to his Globalization channel on XM Radio. I'm a fan of him as a person as well. He has a lot of things he says on the channel, one of them is if you don't know where you're coming from, you don't know where you're going. Similar to what Bob Marley said, when you know your history then you know where you're coming from. And so I want to talk to you today about a process that I underwent several months ago around kind of taking my life experience, my life story and trying to distill it down into kind of an easily digestible piece of information for me to keep with me, and there's a process called The Dig that was administered to me by my guest today, Leah Beltz, the founder of Honor Your Space. ---   Leah, welcome to the program.    Hi, Stephen, welcome. It's nice to be here again.    Yeah, it's wonderful to have you. And, first of all, tell us a little bit about The Dig, since I kind of started that whole thing. I know you're a facilitator, you've worked with a lot of clients on this program.    I can give you a short answer and I can give you a long answer. The short answer, if I were to describe it in only two words, I would describe The Dig as self-discovery. So similar to what you said with Pitbull, kind of understanding where you've come from to understand where you're going. I would say the longer version of that, The Dig is a one-on-one facilitated method of self-discovery that helps you get epic clarity on who you are and how you operate so that you can then live with more confidence and connection to your life's purpose.    So, we're talking about clients here and people who have had a lot of life experiences because most people do and most people have a lot of things they've gone through in life that just ends up being confusing, because it's like, “Why this? Why that?” So, what's the journey, the customer journey, for anyone who speaks product, around that person who comes to you and just like, “Okay, well, I had this happen, I had that happen, and I've had these experiences, and WTF?”?   Right. What I love about The Dig, what makes it unique is the actual process that we go through. So, I want to acknowledge there are a lot of tools and processes like this. The Simon Sinek Find Your Why or the Pursuit of Happiness, all these different things, but what makes The Dig unique is the process which we go through and it's done through a matter of storytelling and reflection and it's all based on capturing different words, so it involves language and we capture words throughout the conversation and then those words, I work with the client,

She was overweight, he thought, and thus responsible for the fact that she needed a foot amputation. But years later, Attia received an unpleasant medical surprise that led him to wonder: is our understanding of diabetes right? Could the precursors to diabetes cause obesity, and not the other way around? A look at how assumptions may be leading us to wage the wrong medical war. This is the TED talk from Peter Attia that Jonny Bowden refers to. 32:03 - Tim Noakes, an MD and University of Cape Town (UCT) emeritus professor, won the second of two decisive victories against his regulatory body, the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). The HPCSA's Appeal Committee dismissed its own lawyers' objections and upheld in full its first committee's comprehensive ruling for Noakes in April 2017. That ruling exonerated him completely on all 10 aspects of a charge of unprofessional conduct. The appeal ended the HPCSA's unprecedented, multimillion trial of Noakes that it had dragged out for more than four years. Its ruling reverberates down medical, nutrition science and food- and drug-industry corridors of power globally to this day. It effectively endorsed Noakes's right to freedom of speech as a scientist and the evidence for low-carbohydrate, high-healthy fat (LCHF) therapies. It vindicated his vigorous opposition to South Africa's industry-led, high-carb, low-fat Food-Based Dietary Guidelines (FBDGs). The FBDGs closely follow the influential US guidelines that launched in the late 1970s and are currently under revision. It is all applied to our spiritual awakening. “Allen Ginsberg is a very close friend of mine, and for a long time, because Allen was being very much publicly gay in his writings and his writing at work, I questioned whether that was my role too. I saw along the way, because of my drug history, that I was identified by many people as being a “druggie.” I began to see that every one of these roles and labels was both a way of having a feeling of comfort in a group identity, while also being a defining concept in my own mind. I see people who have labels in their mind of who I am. I found it a little too complicated to have any labels at all.” - Ram Dass Marcus has been creative all of his life. Born to a journalist and scientist, and raised in a community adjacent to a nuclear research facility in rural Manitoba called Pinawa. Marcus' upbringing was one of dynamic creativity and radioactive inspiration. Marcus began performing stand-up comedy in 1996 in Ottawa. Then, less than a year later, he came third in Canada's Funniest New Comic contest. He has performed all across Canada and L.A., headlining in Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, toured the country twice, and been featured on XM Radio as well CBC Radio's Definitely Not the Opera and Madly Off in All Directions. In 2002 Marcus became certified to teach hot yoga, a then new practice involving vigorous exercise in an extreme environment where the heat is cranked to 40.6 Celsius and the humidity to 40%. For almost eleven years, ten times a week you could here his inspirational ranting all around Lotus Land until 2014 when he premiered Hot Prana. This new series that he calls the Crossfit of Yoga, was featured in his first teacher training in 2016. A disrupter in the space he later became the first yoga teacher to also sing and play guitar while instructing, a class he calls Cool Qi. Marcus completed his BA in psychology in 2005 and then two years later the Langara College digital documentary program, and in 2008 finished Big Medicine – The Techno-Shamanism of Frank Ogden. In 2017 he released his magnus opus film Bucket Chemistry, featuring a four-act psychedelic death and rebirth multimedia rock-show. In February 1995, after a life changing psilocybin experience, Marcus began the research that would lead to his interest in Frank's work when he started investigating psychoactive drugs - culminating in the publication of Shamanic Graffiti in 2016, with the second edition coming out this year. The first edition is featured at the Archives of Psychoactive Substances at Purdue University. In 2021 he began his master's degree in counseling at Athabasca University.
