Fáilte ar ais chuig eagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo ar an 14ú lá de mí an Mhárta, liomsa Lauren Ní Loingsigh. I 1961 chuaigh rud éigin chuig Meiriceá ó Éirinn. Chuaigh Boinn coirce chuig Meiriceá agus bhí a lán daoine á cheannach. I 2005 bhí daoine ag caoin de bharr gur mharaíodh cailín óg agus máthair ó charr cúpla lá roimhe. I 2009 tháinig an nuacht amach nach mbeadh Sandra Farrell mar pholaiteoir a thuilleadh. Bhí sí an polaiteoir is óige agus an dara bean chun a bheith mar Mhéara den Aonach Urmhumhan. I 2012 bhí scoil san Aonach Urmhumhan ag iarradh comórtas iontach a bheith acu nuair a bhí siad ag imirt sa Munster Schools Senior A cluiche ceannais san iománaíocht. An t-am deireanach a bhí siad sa chluiche ceannais ná 1984. Sin Lady Gaga le Poker Face – an t-amhrán is mó ar an lá seo I 2009. Ag lean ar aghaidh le nuacht cheoil ar an lá seo I 1983 tháinig Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambor agus Alec John Such le chéile mar banna cheoil Bon Jovi. Tháinig a cheathrú albam amach darbh ainm New Jersey I 1988. I 1987 fuair Boy George a chéad uimhir a haon mar amhránaí singil leis an amhrán Everything I Own. Chan David Gate é ar dtús I gcóir a albam I 1972. Agus ar deireadh breithlá daoine cáiliúla ar an lá seo rugadh gleacaí Simone Biles I Meiriceá I 1997 agus rugadh aisteoir Michael Caine I Londain ar an lá seo I 1933 agus seo chuid de na rudaí a rinne sé. Now, I know that phrase, “throwing everything I own away,” can sound a little drastic. But I'm here to tell you that in 2013, as a family of five, we did exactly that. We packed up a single suitcase for each of us and moved from Alaska to Florida, leaving behind all the clutter. It was a monumental shift for my family, one that I had no idea would lead to such profound mental health benefits.Let me walk you through how we did it, why we did it, and what it changed for me, especially as a mom.►

This week we welcome The Kendalls! Formed in 1969, The Kendalls recorded an album for Stop Records, from which a single was released in 1970: a cover of John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane" (previously a hit for Peter, Paul & Mary). The Kendalls version narrowly missed the top fifty on the U.S. country charts. The duo signed with Dot Records in 1972, and released an album and two singles, "Two Divided By Love", (a cover version of The Grass Roots' pop hit) and "Everything I Own" a cover of Bread's 1972 hit. Eventually, the Kendalls parted with their record label, before signing with the independent Ovation Label in 1977. Their first single for the label, a cover of Kitty Wells hit "Making Believe", made the lower regions of the charts (Emmylou Harris' version of "Making Believe" hit the U.S. Country Charts around the same time). It was the Kendall's 2nd single on Ovation, a "cheating" song called "Heaven's Just a Sin Away", that proved to be their breakthrough. The song topped the country charts and was also a minor crossover pop hit, and won the 1978 Grammy for Best Country Vocal by a Duo or Group. In 1981, after Ovation Records closed, the duo signed with Mercury Records and continued to have hits with "Teach Me To Cheat" and "If You're Waitin' On Me (You're Backin' Up), which both made the country top 10. More hits followed with "Movin' Train" and "Precious Love," which made the top 20. Their last #1 was 1984's "Thank God For the Radio". The Kendalls had many more Top 20 hits in the 80's and early 90's. The also had a supper club in Gulf Shores, Alabama and a theater in Branson, MO.

In this episode, Noah and Vivian discuss privacy in the world of NFTs and web3, a space that is inherently transparent. Is it uncomfortable to be publicly yourself online all the time? What if you could escape yourself? How do artists create work that speaks to privacy or invert the transparency of the blockchain? Noah and Vivian receive a voicemail from Jesse, who leads design at Context, to share information about a new product from Context called Mint.fun. Mint.fun aggregates trending projects that are currently minting, as well as trending projects that are free to mint. Noah and Vivian peruse Mint.fun and mint a project called My Fucking Egg, because Noah loves chickens and by proxy he loves eggs. Anyway, don't forget to call the JPEG2000 Hotline at 845-377-3484. CALL NOW!A feature of web3 and crypto is that your actions are visible and documented on chain. If you buy something that doesn't fit your aesthetic and vibe, are you embarrassed that it's publicly visible to everybody? In essence, you can always spy on people's wallets. Do we already live in a world where privacy is low-key dead? Content creators on Youtube, Tiktok, and Instagram share content of mundane elements of their lives ranging from their skincare routines, what they eat in a week, and "haul videos" showcasing things they bought during shopping sprees. Vivian recalls a piece by conceptual artist Barbara Kruger, which has text that says I Shop Therefore I Am. During Collection Time™️ Noah and Vivian collect "Point-And-Shoot Camera" from artist Stardrop's project called Everything I Own. Stardrop photographs all 1026 items that they own (including love letters, vaccination card, tax returns, drivers license), and the project is intended as an "exploration of ownership, consumerism, privacy, and identity in the world of crypto." Stardrop is an anonymous person who uses a pseudonym online, but simultaneously shares everything they own, including things that would be considered sensitive and private. Through seeing all of a person's belongings, can we paint a picture of who they are? You can view a feed of the project activity on Context on the project's collection page, and see all of the items that Stardrop owns. This leads to a conversation about the flattening of identity on social media, and how audiences think of new art made by artists is often influenced by their previous artworks and personal histories. Is being anonymous online a solution and a way to break away from that cycle? Next, Noah and Vivian collect a piece titled 2022-06-20 from Mars Maiers, a year-long daily art project created by Allan Yu and Jacob Bijani. In the first iteration of Mars Maiers, artist Allan Yu donned the pseudonym Mars Maiers to maintain his privacy (and protect his ego) and started doing an art piece a day, inspired by Taiwanese artist Tehching Hsieh (an artist that both Noah and episode 4 guest Robert Gallardo are inspired by). In the current iteration of Mars Maiers, daily artworks created by Allan are sold as NFTs in a blind auction format, introducing privacy and secrecy to the NFT space, inverting the inherent openness and transparency of the ethereum blockchain. Do you want to know how Allan and Jacob do this? Sorry, you will have to listen to the episode to get that info

As A Christian Should I Give Away Everything I Own?Reader: Miriam MontgomeryDate: 27th June 2022Passage: Acts 2:45-------------------This verse has caused quite a lot of worry to Christians over the years! Does it mean that, if I am a Christian, I should sell everything I own and give the proceeds to the poor? Is that what the Bible is telling me to do ?The answer is 'no', but to look carefully at your attitude to what you possess.Poverty, real poverty, was very common in Israel at the time of the New Testament. This was especially true in Galilee. So the Christians sold what they could in order to help the poor people among them. Those who had houses obviously did not sell them because we read that the Christians gathered in each others' homes for fellowship, food and the Lord's Supper.Christians today have to consider very carefully their attitude to possessions and the temptation to live in such a way that we do not think of the poor in our own country or in other lands. It is easy for us to become possessed by our possessions and to buy things that in all honesty we don't need and could easily do without. Prosperity must never become an end in itself but rather something to be use for the good of others. When our minds are set on things in this world we tend to forget to make a priority of heavenly things. PrayerDear Lord Jesus, we thank you that through you we become rich in every spiritual blessing. Amen.

This week we welcome Jeannie Kendall! Formed in 1969, The Kendall's recorded an album for Stop Records, from which a single was released in 1970: a cover of John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane" (previously a hit for Peter, Paul & Mary). The Kendall's version narrowly missed the top fifty on the U.S. country charts. The duo signed with Dot Records in 1972, and released an album and two singles, "Two Divided By Love", (a cover version of The Grass Roots' pop hit) and "Everything I Own" a cover of Bread's 1972 hit. Eventually, the Kendall's parted with their record label, before signing with the independent Ovation Label in 1977. The Kendall's had many more Top 20 hits in the 80's and early 90's. The also had a supper club in Gulf Shores, Alabama and a theater in Branson, MO. After her fathers death in 1998 Jeannie has pursued a solo career. In 2013, she joined forces with entertainer Carl Acuff Jr. who now opens the show and sing's with Jeannie to recreate that unique sound and those favorite "Kendall's" hits. As A Christian Should I Give Away Everything I Own? Reader: Miriam Montgomery Date: 27th June 2021 Time: Passage: Acts 2:45 ------------------- This verse has caused quite a lot of worry to Christians over the years! Does it mean that, if I am a Christian, I should sell everything I own and give the proceeds to the poor? Is that what the Bible is telling me to do ?The answer is 'no', but to look carefully at your attitude to what you possess. Poverty, real poverty, was very common in Israel at the time of the New Testament. This was especially true in Galilee. So the Christians sold what they could in order to help the poor people among them. Those who had houses obviously did not sell them because we read that the Christians gathered in each others' homes for fellowship, food and the Lord's Supper. Christians today have to consider very carefully their attitude to possessions and the temptation to live in such a way that we do not think of the poor in our own country or in other lands. It is easy for us to become possessed by our possessions and to buy things that in all honesty we don't need and could easily do without. Prosperity must never become an end in itself but rather something to be use for the good of others. When our minds are set on things in this world we tend to forget to make a priority of heavenly things. ## Prayer Dear Lord Jesus, we thank you that through you we become rich in every spiritual blessing. Amen.

Teen Rescue - Interview with Dave Peightal

We are interviewing Dave Peightal at his home in Glenwood, Arkansas. Although Pegtop was really the name of the band Dave was in, started after Teen Rescue, many think his name is Dave Pegtop. Rick and Dave met back in the mid to late 1980s at Sunshine Festival over 30 years ago. Dave was in the Cutting Edge band at the time and they were introduced and shortly thereafter Dave began to travel with the RLS band. When Rick thinks back at the impact Dave had in the band, he remembers what was happening on stage was so evident. But what he saw when you were with the group and the band, Rick always saw this incredible gentle spirit that would be sitting there with whoever. Dave just ministered so beautifully to people. There was peace that was in the vehicle while they were traveling. Rick especially noticed it when Dave was not with us. He would ask to himself, why is there some contention today. And one of the reasons was -- Dave is not here. Rick thanks God for the season He gave him to have Dave present with Teen Rescue and in the band because Dave went on to start the band, Pegtop. Dave wrote several songs that RLS used. One specific one that was one of Rick’s favorites was “I Believe in You." Also, Rick remembers particularly the song, "Everything I Own." It was a song also covered by artist, Jason Gray. Dave states that a lot of the songs we wrote during the time he wrote that song were written during a very difficult time in his life. The songs were Psalm-like in that they came out of depression and oppression with intense honesty. Dave’s songs came from real life experience and they were songs that others could relate to who were going through similar situations. Dave was contemplating and being discouraged that his Christian walk had not progressed further than it had been. He was evaluating how he had spent his time. Realizing that most of the time we spend as humans is on things that do not really matter and he wished he had spent more time on things that matter. The song goes on to compare what Jesus has done and how He gave everything He owned. That is the hope that we have. Dave says the song was written out of despair and it is one of the few songs that still touches him when he sings it so he still plays it everyone once in a while. Rick asks Dave who he remembers from the days with Teen Rescue. Dave says that if it hadn’t been for RLS, Pegtop would never have been started. All the people he played with came from the RLS band: Wes T., Terry S., Ben C., and eventually Matt P. The team was knocking off new songs while they were traveling. Rick would be listening from the front of the van thinking how cool it was. Dave says that Rick put people in positions where they found themselves in Christ. Everyone in Pegtop were people that Rick had in one way or another challenged to get out and do things for Jesus. Others Dave remembers are Cindy T., Eric H., and Dwight L. Rick said Dave’s time with Teen Rescue was invaluable and amazing and the years that followed. And here we are today, God is still working things in and through us. Our journey isn’t over, not even close. Dave says it is an exciting time because things are happening. When people put their trust in the Father and walk in obedience, He promises to protect us. We need to learn to listen and obey that voice and walk in it. We do not need to be afraid. When we trust the Father completely, there is no fear. Rick replies that the bible says that those who follow Christ did not love their life even unto death. And that is spoke of about how do we defeat Satan and overcome evil? How do we overcome the accuser of the brethren? By the blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony and that we did not even love our life even unto death. And that is what we call a radical life!!

As John and I record: Sam Gaviglio melts down, the Mariners forget how to run the bases, and overall look like a garbage team next to the Oakland Athletics as the losing skid at home reaches eight. It’s pretty clear the Mariners won’t be buyers at the trade deadline, so we talk sweet sweet trading action, baby: who has value, who does not, what pieces might come in return, who we think will be traded and should be traded, and who the team will choose to build around. We also dip our toe into talking about some potential trade partners. We head off into talking about morticians vs. funeral directors for a while and John tells a pretty horrifying story about his time spent playing youth baseball and the sweet smell of death, which seems appropriate while watching this particular game. After a quick break, we take some Twitter questions and discuss the Mariners in a post-apocalyptic world, this time in a joking manner. We admire Tony Zych’s Camo Thursdays Everydays and fret about Felix attempting to navigate towards his bungalow in the Maldives in the wake of a zombie apocalypse. Speaking of Felix, we discuss what we think the future of the King’s Court might be, and things get a little somber for a while, as they usually do when talking about Felix nowadays. We try to end on a cheery note, with each of us talking about what is keeping us invested in watching the team at this moment, as we determinedly wrest some joy out of the 2017 Mariners. Later, as I mix the podcast, I will listen to Bread’s “Everything I Own,” decide it’s about Felix, and cry fluently. This Is What I Do在2014年正式發行。 This Is What I Do從封套到內裡都是讓人愛不惜手,不再扮女人樣子更加使我加了不少分數:禮帽,鬍子,湖水藍的西裝讓人耳目一新,老實說,我都不能太接受那太濃妝艷抹的打扮,這次做回自己的他讓所有人都覺得舒服。 This Is What I Do是Boy George自1987年的首張個人大碟Sold後能夠再次重返英國四十大的最佳成績了。對了,不知道你們有沒有和我一樣的習慣,都喜歡把唱片的內頁翻來覆去的閱讀,這張請跳過內裡Boy George的照片吧,我以為放錯了Billy Joel的呢。Songlist - King of Everything, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, Karma Chameleon, Love is Love, Everything I Own, Nice and Slow, Bigger than War, My God, The Crying Game, Move Away, Any Road.

Before "Everything I Own" became a reggae classic, it was an ode to paternal love by Bread's David Gates. Ian McCann traces the history of one of the 1970's greatest romantic ballads.
