Maybe you’re eating an apple, or a piece of lettuce right now. Could be a broccoli stem or perhaps a lovely juicy tomato. If you are, are you wondering how intelligent that plant is? I’d guess not. But here’s a conversation that might make you think twice. Zoë Schlanger, a science writer for the Atlantic, has written an eye-opening book on the topic. It’s called The Light Eaters: How the Unseen World of Plant Intelligence Offers a New Understanding of Life on Earth. On today’s episode, Chris sits down with Zoë to talk about what it means for a plant to be intelligent, even without a brain, and how this revolutionary field of research might help us look at plant life a little differently. Sometimes growth leads you away from home - and it can be painful to feel like you are wandering around in the desert on your own - and it can make you doubt that your growth is beneficial! Many times in my own life I have thought - "Maybe this isn't worth it, maybe I should just stay in the box!"Maybe that feels relatable to you - the growth you experiencing has so much loss incorporated in it that sometimes you're not sure if it's worth it!Joining me for the conversation are two amazing human beings:Katy Valentine - Rev. Dr. Katy E. Valentine is an ordained minister, a New Testament scholar, and most importantly, a Spiritual Strategist. She is in the business of empowering Jesus followers to live their best lives through metaphysics -- things like chakra, energy, and even past lives. She loves turning the tables on what it means to be a Christian, and shifting people away from the toxic backgrounds of their past and getting them to become the lightworkers they were always meant to be. Kelly Irene - Kelly is an Intuitive Oracle Card Reader & Student Astrologer as well as the founder of Most True You Coaching. Kelly lived as an imposter in her own life for over a decade. It was through astrology that she learned to recognize and live as her most true self, leading to her success in a Human Resources career, and finally feeling like she belonged--in the world and to herself! Any solo parent knows life is already overwhelming—and to add a romantic element into the mix can feel risky. Love the first time around is often when you're young, inexperienced with the world, and marked with abandon, and recklessness. Does love feel the same the second time around? Today, we cover three main points: 1. The experience: How love feels and is experienced post-loss or post-growth. 2. The person: You're in a relationship with a completely different person, and you've also changed as a person. 3. Hour 3: Has Poni's opinion on Lamar Jackson changed this season as he's about to win his second MVP award? He said no and it's still because of how he plays against the Steelers. Poni said he needs to see Lamar win multiple playoff games and get it done when it matters most. Are you afraid of Lamar being in Baltimore for a long time? We took some calls on Lamar and the Steelers' own QB situation. Steve Palazzolo from Pro Football Focus joined the show. Steve thinks Mike Tomlin is absolutely making the right call with Mason Rudolph heading into Week 18. Steve doesn't think it is necessarily over for Kenny Pickett in a Steelers uniform, but it is simple to roll with Rudolph this week. Steve thought Rudolph was awesome against Seattle. He thinks there are comparisons to what Rudolph did in college. Steve said the numbers for Rudolph and Joe Flacco are comparable and their scores reflect that. Steve really credited Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris for the job done on Sunday and didn't think the offensive line was all that great against the Seahawks. Steve said he would not take Rudolph over Pickett to begin next season, but also said he has to weigh a few other options. Donny Football Debrief – Aliquippa football getting screwed again, but they will probably still kick ass.

(0:00-11:18) It's officially Dallas week. Andrew feels it's lost some of its energy due to the Cowboys' irrelevance in recent years. There hasn't been anything to really get fired up about Dallas week anymore. (11:26-33:45) Andrew explains more about how the Cowboys inability to be a fearful competitor is what brings down the power of Dallas week, plus Ray weighs in. (33:48-53:33) Callers weigh in on their feelings towards the Cowboys Eagles rivalry. Ray opens the vault! Let's take a walk down memory lane with Allen Iverson's debut, Sandy Koufax memories, and a Roy Campanella clipper. ESTHER 5:9-14 Thanks to everyone who supports TMBH at patreon.com/thetmbhpodcast You're the reason we can all do this together! Discuss the episode here Opening song, "Get It Right (Tonight)" from the album, "The Clamour and the Crash" by Jeff Foote
Music has many purposes, including: To express emotions. Music can be a powerful way to express a wide range of emotions, from joy and love to sadness and anger. To tell stories. Music can be used to tell stories, both fictional and real. This can be a way to pass on history, culture, and values. To connect people. Music can be a powerful way to bring people together, regardless of their background or beliefs. To inspire. Music can inspire people to change the world, to be better people, or to simply live their lives to the fullest. Music has changed significantly from the era of the civil rights movement to the 1990s. Some of the reasons for this change include: The rise of new genres. In the 1960s, the most popular genres of music were folk, blues, and gospel. By the 1990s, new genres such as hip hop, rap, and electronic dance music had become popular. These genres often had different styles and messages than the older genres. The changing social and political landscape. The civil rights movement was a time of great social and political upheaval. This inspired many musicians to write songs about social justice and equality. By the 1990s, the social and political landscape had changed. This led to a shift in the focus of many musicians, who began to write more about personal experiences and relationships. The influence of technology. The development of new technologies, such as the personal computer and the sampler, had a major impact on music. These technologies made it easier for musicians to create and record music, and they also led to the development of new genres of music. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/creative-habits/message

And when a man wants a younger-acting wife, often this is because he still wants to feel like a young man. In both cases, people need to understand that as animals of all species grow and age, they grow less playful and enthusiastic, because they are more tired and have seen more of the world. If you are basing your own self-image on the youth of your kids or wife, is this really fair to them? This is a deep dive into your subconscious: do you really have issues with your sex life/love life because your wife's behavior means to you that YOU must be older than you wish you were, by virtue of being married to her? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/drpsychmomshow/message
Brenden Schaeffer describes the Cardinals' 4-3 loss to the Giants from Monday at Busch Stadium as the team keeps losing in very similar ways day after day in this putrid stretch. But should criticisms of this team and their play in 2023 extend beyond the low-hanging fruit of raging about Oli Marmol's bullpen management? What if I told you these issues are more a product of another factor that to a large extent should have been foreseeable in the off-season? We get into all of that on the show and hear from Cardinals' reliever Chris Stratton following a tough night for the St. Louis bullpen. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bschaeffer12/message

Valtteri has found a warm and welcoming vibe in the Alfa Romeo building. He feels a sense of ownership he couldn't experience with Mercedes. Mainly due to his performance sitting him in the number two seat and Lewis Hamilton being as great as he is in the history of Formula 1. Now Bottas has the lead and a rookie in Zhou right beside him. Performance at Alfa Romeo is not equaling what Bottas produced with Mercedes. But, he said it's more important to feel wanted. In 2026, Audi will be taking over the Sauber chassis that Alfa Romeo currently occupy. The big question on the horizon will be if Audi wants Bottas.

Drew McCoy is the host of the Genetically Modified Skeptic YouTube channel, which is, with now over 500,000 subscribers, perhaps the largest atheist YouTube channel in the world right now. The last time we collaborated was in 2017, arguing that as well as being false, religion is also mostly harmful. In this podcast we discuss our current views on that subject, and examine how they have changed.
