Tara Erickson & Andrew Gordon (Cinepals) dive into one of the most intense psychological thrillers ever—Rob Reiner's Misery, based on the legendary Stephen King novel! This chilling classic follows Paul Sheldon (James Caan, The Godfather, Elf), a best-selling author who finds himself at the mercy of his number-one fan, Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates, Titanic, American Horror Story), after a brutal car crash leaves him stranded in her remote home. As Annie's obsession spirals into madness, Paul must fight for his survival in a game of manipulation and terror. The film also stars Richard Farnsworth (The Straight Story, The Grey Fox) as Sheriff Buster and Frances Sternhagen (The Mist, Sex and the City) as his wife, Virginia. We react to all of Misery's most infamous moments, including The Car Crash, Annie's "I'm Your Number One Fan" Introduction, The Typewriter Scene, Paul Sneaking Out of His Room, The Dinner Poisoning Attempt, The Hobbling Scene, The Final Fight, and The Chilling Ending! Stephen King's Misery remains one of the most terrifying horror thrillers ever put to screen, and in honor of the horror master himself, here are some of his most famous film adaptations: The Shining (1980), Carrie (1976), It (2017), Pet Sematary (1989), The Green Mile (1999), Stand by Me (1986), The Mist (2007), Doctor Sleep (2019), Gerald's Game (2017), and 1408 (2007). Episode 314: Ezra Allen Miner, more commonly known as Bill Miner, was an infamous American stagecoach and train robber born in Michigan in 1846. Bill Miner's criminal career included an early arrest on April 3, 1866, for robbery, leading to a three-year sentence at San Quentin. Over thirty-five years, Miner was incarcerated for a cumulative total of nearly 30 years, experiencing two official releases and making five escapes from custody. He became infamous in Canada for robbing the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) and securing his status as a legendary figure in Canadian outlaw lore, which included an escape from the B.C. Penitentiary in New Westminster. Known by nicknames such as “The Grey Fox” and the “Gentleman Bandit,” Miner was celebrated for his courteous demeanour during his heists. Furthermore, he is often credited with popularizing the now-iconic command during robberies, “Hands up!”; however, this may be hyperbole. Miner's blend of politeness and notoriety helped cement his legacy in the annals of Canadian criminal folklore. Why are the boys so fascinated by dicks this week? Well it's largely because Matt and Doctor Dave were on vacation at Greyfox and our Director of Hot Sauce Acquisition and Dick Measuring guest starred on the show, and Bill can't be left to his own devices. Chaos ensues this week. We also review a sauce from Family Band.

This week on Talking Tacos the boys go to Greyfox. About half of the Revue Podcast Network was away on our annual pilgrimage to East Durham, NY the bluegrass music festival, Greyfox. It was our first time back since 2019 for obvious reasons that I will not mention here so Zuckerberg doesn't flag us for saying naughty words or whatever. Dipshit. Doctor Dave and Matt have lots of great Fox stories for the boys. Phish fans suck. We re-revue Ric Orlando's Psychedelic Haze hot sauce. Mercedes Formula 1 team's George Russell is Meme of the Week ™ and Matt and Kung Fu Joe explain the difference between a trade paperback and a graphic novel. Fox Sports blunders a Yankess/Red Sox game advertisement with the twin towers which leads us down a nice conspiracy theory/fuck the government tunnel. Let's get weird this week.

Episode 78 of Ready Set Revue is up on all platforms and we are fresh off of seeing Love and Thunder in theaters. We actually caught it on opening weekend, but then half of the Revue Podcast Network went on vacation to a magical place called Greyfox, so we're a little behind. Thor: Love and Thunder, however, remains a box office powerhouse that, for some reason, isn't being loved by critics and all of the fans. The critics, we get. They can fuck right off. The fans, though, don't make any sense to me. Yes, the movie has a very straightforward plot that we've seen plenty of times before, though not really in the MCU but a pretty standard plot nonetheless. Everything else, though, is a breath of fresh air. While aesthetically similar to Ragnarok, this movie gives mainstay characters like Thor, Valkyrie, and Jane a whole new depth and looks to their post-snap future while also honoring what came before. The action is incredible, the jokes always land (even if they're may be just a bit too many of them), and the entire visual experience is beautiful; especially on an IMAX screen. Christian Bale is terrifying as Gor and Russell Crowe is spectacularly ridiculous as Zeus. Stay for both after-credit scenes, True Revuers.

There is plenty to learn from the British in terms of classic style, especially for those who are interested in the outdoors. On this episode of the Dogwatch, we speak with David Evans, the man behind the Grey Fox Blog, one of the early style blogs and a mainstay of classic British lifestyle commentary. David is frequently featured in the media, and you can see his take on summer style this past week in the UK's The Daily Telegraph.  In our conversation, David talks with us about the roots of classic British outdoor and casual wear, tweed and its production in Britain, as well as dogs and Land Rovers. We also discuss the ways in which we can strive toward a more sustainable approach to clothing and style. At the time of this recording I asked David about his dog Harry, and anyone who follows the Grey Fox on Instagram will know Harry from his frequent appearances. Just days after our conversation, Harry passed away unexpectedly. This was obviously very difficult for David and his family. Today's episode of the Dogwatch is dedicated to Harry, and the positive energy and love that dogs can bring to us in this world in the ways that Harry did. So here's to Harry, and our thoughts go out to David as well.

The focus of our conversation though will be his latest work being published through Action Lab Comics, The S-Factor. It is a four-part series launching in June about an under-appreciated super hero sidekick, Greyfox, who decides to re-brand him self through a new reality TV series for super heroes called The S-Factor.  Twelve super heroine contestants must fight for his affection. Samuel shares which show inspired The S-Factor as well as his own personal experience taking part in a reality TV show.  His insight into the machinations and manipulations by associate producers to heighten emotions and tensions among contestants was fertile ground for the development of The S-Factor. Samuel also goes behind the scenes of the making of The S-Factor: the good fortune that lead to the book deal with Action Lab Comics and the artist of the series Chris Panda. Samuel reveals the series rags to riches story and why he selected Chris to illustrate it. Samuel is also the host of Comics for the Apocalypse.  We talk about his imaginative interview podcast, one which ye old host has even made an appearance.  Don't let that stop you though; it is well worth you time to give his podcast a listen. Francis Ford Coppola protégé Phillip Borsos directs The Grey Fox, an elegiac, low-key tale about real-life bandit Bill Miner that has become a classic of Canadian cinema. Having been released from jail in 1901 following a 33-year prison sentence for robbing stagecoaches, Bill Miner (Richard Farnsworth) finds himself living in a society that has completely changed from the one of his youth. He tries to put his life of crime behind him and settle down in Washington state with his sister, but the quiet life does not suit him. He feels restless but uncertain as to how to proceed next. The answer comes to him when he sees Edward S. Porter's The Great Train Robbery. Soon, Miner has slipped over the border into Canada and, along with his new partner, Shorty (Wayne Robson), robs the Canadian Pacific Railway Transcontinental Express. Later, while laying low after the crime in a remote corner of British Columbia, he meets the beautiful, strong-willed photographer Kate Flynn (Jackie Burroughs). In writing this script, Borsos reportedly made heavy use of contemporary court documents and testimonies. Producer Peter O’Brian stops by to talk about his collaboration with director Phillip Boros and Richard Farnsworth and The Grey Fox 4K Restoration is being released through Kino Marquee. Watch The Grey Fox and support local theatres - kinomarquee.com/the-grey-fox Kino Marquee is a new initiative that creates "virtual cinemas" for temporarily closed independent theaters. Local audiences support their community's theater in these uncertain times by buying a virtual “ticket” to watch the film. Their ticket purchases directly support their local art house as all revenue is being shared between distributor and exhibitor, just as if they bought their ticket at the theater's box office. Kino Marquee currently works with over 350 art house theaters across the nation. Hi, everyone. Welcome back to BeProvided Conservation Radio. Today is a special edition of a live Facebook event and you can find the full video version on my Facebook or you can also find. A recorded version on YouTube. This is an abbreviated audio version of that interview with highlights about P-22 and the current vote on the California Endangered Species Act for Southern CA mountain lions.   This interview was with Beth Pratt, California regional Executive Director for the National Wildlife Federation, and co-creator of Save LA Cougars, which is a campaign to build one of the largest crossings over highway 101, one of the busiest highways in LA.   Beth is also the author of, When Mountain Lions are Neighbors: People and Wildlife Working it out in California. In this book, she shares hopeful stories from people coexisting with wildlife throughout California. Such as coyotes living in San Francisco, Grey Fox raising a family on the campus of Facebook, raptors in cities, backyard wildlife and much much more.   In the audio interview below, Beth shares stories of her background in wildlife conservation as well as the adventurous story of P-22, Hollywood's (and California's) most famous mountain lion. If you have not heard of P-22 then listen in to see how this cat is coexisting in one of the most populated area of our country within an area of only 8 square miles.
