Hi Brilliant Photographer, welcome back! Today, I am sharing my solo episode diving into a topic that can always use more info and ideas: handling objections. I shared my thoughts on this a while back, but I'm excited to give you a fresh take. As Sandra Boynton's coffee mug says, "Salesmanship begins when the customer says no." This couldn't be truer in our field. You can do everything perfectly—attract the ideal clients, have amazing sessions, and plant seeds for future purchases—but an objection can stop you in your tracks. Objections can arise at any point: initial contact, during a call, in-person consultations, or sales sessions. We need to be prepared with responses that not only satisfy our clients but also encourage them to book us and invest in our products and services. Here are some common objections you might face and how to handle them: 1. Initial Contact: "I don't use the phone. Just email, please.""Can I have only digitals?""Please send me your pricing." 2. In-Person Consultations: Price issues.Pushback on the in-person sales session.Time of day, location, clothing preferences. 3. Sales Sessions:"Can we order later or some now and some later?"It's important to remember that our goal isn't just to make a sale because we need it. We believe that what we offer is a blessing to our clients. Always keep your "why" in mind. Here are three key takeaways for handling objections: Establish yourself as a Trusted Advisor:First respond to questions with a clarification questions: When faced with a challenging question, take a breath, ask for clarification, and use the "Feel, Felt, Found" technique.Stand firm on your policies using this phrase...”These were the prices and policies when you booked me, and they are still my prices and policies."Watch on YouTube or listen wherever podcasts are shared as I dive deeper into these points and share more insights on handling objections effectively! And thanks, as always, for listening, subscribing, and connecting. I heart you big time! Luci Connect with Photography Business Coach Luci Dumas: Website Email: luci@lucidumas.comInstagram FacebookYouTube

For years, copywriters have been bowing down to a pivotal moment in copywriting history when John E. Kennedy revealed to Albert Lasker that advertising is, in fact, nothing more than “salesmanship in print.” That happened in Chicago in the early 1900s. Today, a modern-day copywriting visionary from Chicago, Donnie Bryant, says it's time to update the definition. Donnie is our returning champion. He was on a couple months ago to talk about his great new book, Subject Line Science. But this time, he's got a new idea that may stop you in your tracks. Donnie knows whereof he speaks. He has generated over $130 million in sales for his clients, which include Agora Financial, Dan Kennedy's GKIC and Early to Rise. And he has shared the stage with copy legends like Parris Lampropolous, Clayton Makepeace and the other David, David Deutsch. We take a deep dive into Donnie's stunning new idea today. What is Echo Salesmanship? Sales Legend Ben Gay III Explains on The Closers Inner Circle Podcast Today we are opening up The Closers, PT 2, Page 135 to 'The Grand Canyon Response'. An echo salesmanship response involves mirroring or repeating keywords or phrases that the potential customer has used during a sales conversation. It's a technique aimed at building rapport and making the customer feel heard and understood. By echoing their words, you show that you are actively listening and that you comprehend their needs and concerns. For example, if a customer says, "I'm looking for a reliable and efficient solution," an echo salesmanship response could be, "So, you're really focused on finding a solution that's not only reliable but also highly efficient. Is that correct?" This repetition helps in reinforcing the customer's priorities and can create a more engaging and personalized interaction. The key is to use this technique naturally and not make it seem forced or robotic. It's about demonstrating empathy and building a connection by reflecting the customer's language and sentiments. And according to Ben, mastering this sales technique can be daunting, but is very helpful during the sales process for you AND the customer/prospect.
