Jay Katz and Aspasia said they were going to get personal and so just prior to Christmas they interview Jay' astounding sister Jennine Leonarder-Collins. Jennine lives with her husband Peter in the longest lived in historical house in NSW built in the 1820's. Just recently late at night she had and encounter with an apparition that she initially thought was her husband. That is just one of the many stories she recounts from her history as a real estate agent and house flipper.
On this the 61st Anniversary of JFK's assassination Jay Katz and Aspasia celebrate their 100th episode on Untold Radio with an investigation of some of the links that connect this murder with the UFO mystery. Jay and Aspasia return to the Untold Radio Network for their 99th Episode after surviving a treacherous move from their archive after 23 years. They take a look at the recent UAP congressional hearing and discuss the parallel hominid and its close proximity to their new home. Time for field research.
As popular culture historians Jay Katz and Aspasia embrace the recent revelations of military whistle blower Col. Karl Nell and match them to the producer of "Project UFO" 1978-79 Col. William Coleman. “Project UFO” was created by maverick actor and screen writer Jack Webb who stared as Sargent Joe Friday in the long running police procedural series “Dragnet”. Jack was given unlimited access to the original Project Blue Book files for the creation of episodes over its 2-season run. Karl's revelations and Jack Webb's rarely seen series both resonate with propaganda, disinformation and truth. “What is old is new again” in Ufology's endless search for disclosure. Jay Katz and Aspasia barely scratch the surface on a myriad of musical mysteries that involve the Anomalous, the Paranormal and the missing. Music has a powerful effect on the brain, activating more neural pathways than any other stimulus. They investigate trans mediums such as composer Rosemary Brown and name musicians that have had UFO experiences. Music may just be the common language of the Universe. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4602609/advertisement
Please be patient at the start as we had a couple of drop outs during the recording but it all resolves very quickly. David Thrussell is a composer, musician, performer, writer, film maker, lecturer. researcher & all-round sweet family man that's looks & lives like a hillbilly. He headlines the bands Snog & Black Lung. His OMNI Recording company specialises in rare lost recording of which “The Ballad of J.F.K “A musical history of the John F Kennedy assassination (1963-68) is just one of many releases. Yet a very special one indeed. On this the 60th anniversary year of the murder of J.F.K, Jay Katz & Aspasia thought it most important to discuss with David the reasons behind constructing this incredible compilation album & his astounding research literally at ground zero (many times musically) into this continuing mystery. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4602609/advertisement
Jay Katz and Aspasia explore the possibility that the vast range of Anomalous Experiences may be all connected by a series of acute consistencies. Inspired by the work of Rupert Sheldrake and his investigation of the Morphogenic Filed. If we are living in a truly non materialistic universe could the ultimate Cloud (hard drive) be at the centre of our Solar System continuously emanating electro magnetic fields, the barer of life and known to us as our sun. Jay Katz and Aspasia step back into the world of current news, personal views and lost media this week. Footage has re surfaced from a remote rail work sight in Queensland that could be devastating evidence of the existence of Yowies (Australia's Bigfoot). This report is backed up by archival footage. Also investigated are the contradictory claims coming out of South America in regards to the Peruvian Alien invasion and the Alien mummies that were showcased in their Congress recently. Finally a revision on Tom DeLong and the To the Stars Academy. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4602609/advertisement
Peter Levenda is a historian, author, lecturer, world traveller and cultural commentator of subject matter that is on the fringes of reason. His trilogy Sinister Forces, a Grimoire of American Political Witchcraft revealed a deeper and darker underbelly of political history in which the occult and paranormal activity collide. Recently he has co-authored a trilogy of fictional books with Tom DeLong (Blink 182, To the Starts Academy) called Sekret Machines. Confessions of a dangerous book is a potted guide to alternative and fringe literature primarily published by independent press. Against all odds the hand of the writer and investigative journalist cannot be quashed. This is just a glimpse of the power of the pen in deconstructing the mainstream narrative. Jay Katz and Aspasia have an overwhelming library that is still increasing with every day, that paints a picture of a parallel world with many perspectives. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4602609/advertisement
Here is a fair dinkum Ozzie yarn about a very descent bloke who loved film from an early age, inspiring many with his home super 8 productions and then progressing into studio work as a stuntman. He is an absolute legend in his native state of South Australia but no so well known (as he should be!) further afield. His low budget ingenuity is spectacular and his history on the small & big screen extensive. Utilizing stills, news footage & trailers Jay Katz & Aspasia randomly quiz Dean on his life in cinema. Humble, shy and down to earth, Dean is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the movie world. Initially hesitant Dean admitted after the our podcast that this was his first ever podcast interview. Oh, and by the way did we tell you that he had an incredible U.F.O sighting. He also talks about that. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4602609/advertisement
Sheryl Gotchal (U.F.O Research Queensland) and Baboula Clement (Astrologer) join Jay Katz & Aspasia for a lively discussion on the history & relevance of astrology. The charting of life's path through the movement of celestial bodies dates back to the dawn of time for humanity. Considered a science and part of academic studies until the late 16 century interest in astrology has never really waned. In fact, just like the 1960s renaissance of the horoscope & astrological studies, today there appears to be more interest than ever. Its not a question of belief, it's a belief to question. All we can say is to keep an open mind. Respect and much love Jay & Aspasia. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4602609/advertisement

Jay Katz and Aspasia are film and television archivists. They have a great love for the small screens anthology series especially those from the 1950's and 60"s. Of course Twilight Zone and Outer Limits are the jewels in the crown of the golden age but the lesser known One Step Beyond which came to the small screen first is what they are primarily concentrating on in this episode. Hosted and directed by John Newland and running for 3 seasons these docudrama episodes were based on real life cases of anomalous activity. Jay Katz and Aspasia deliver part 2 of their exploration of the Flying Saucer on the silver screen. The impact of UFO sightings in the late 40's and early 50's certainly bled into the cinema's and began to blur the line between reality and entertainment. Many key factors of Ufological research can be found in the scripts of these films years before they were documented by researchers. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4602609/advertisement
In the wake of the recent revelation in the news pertaining to the "highest credentialed" military officer going on the record to state that UFO's are not only real but the government also has been deceiving congress over the retrieval of exotic craft and possible alien entities, Jay Katz and Aspasia explore the narrative through archival research of film and television. They show that this smoking gun of a narrative has been around the block many times before and seems to have a consistent cast of characters involved that keep appearing decade after decade. Are we all victims of military perception management that is grappling with its own ability to contain the secrecy that appears to be delegated to this topic? Jay Katz and Aspasia present The Flying Saucer Goes to The Movies. It would take 3 years after Kenneth Arnold's sighting for Hollywood to jump on the Flying saucer invasion band wagon. Once these flood gates were open by Mikel Conrad poverty row Z grade classic (The Flying Saucer), it became the ET hypothesis all the way. These aliens were either coming here to warn us (primarily about ourselves) or invade us. A cascade of poster art and trailers will expose the social engineering of this phenomena into popular culture. Jay Katz and Aspasia return from a field trip and family holiday to the South Pacific region of New Caledonia. Hundreds of thousands of islands exist throughout the world, many with their own unique ecology and endemic life. Some of these are surrounded in mystery in terms of their history and their varied anomalies. Today we discus but a few.
Jay Katz and Aspasia present an abridged history of the parallel hominid on the Silver screen. Yeti followed by bigfoot exploded in cinemas world wide due to reports coming out of the Mimalayas and California. Due to the sceptisism in the press, these stories of a relic living hominid became relegated to B through to Z film makers. Jay Katz and Aspasia rush this breaking news to air about an unknown object shot down by the US military over Alaska. They discus discrepancies in News reporting services involving UFO's and their threat they pose to civilian and National security.
In 2019 Jay Katz with the assistance of Campbell Drummond interviewed UFO researcher Don Schmitt in his Sydney based warehouse that is the Mu-Meson Archives. In the wake of the death of Stanton Friedman Don Schmitt has become the worlds leading authority on The Roswell Case. This incident has been denied, dismissed and debunked profusely by what Stanton Freidman termed the noisy negativist. Nine times out of ten these individuals remain keyboard theorists without spending a Nano second in the field conducting one on one personal interviews.Don Schmitt approached this case from a detectives perspective and as a sceptic. It was the totality of 1st and 2nd hand witnesses ranging from four star Generals to common country folk that pushed him over the edge into the realisation that this was a significant anomalous event. Well over 3 decades later Don is more determined than ever to make sure that Roswell is taken seriously and afforded its importance in modern day Ufological history. Those seeking a one man film production company can get in touch with Campbell Drummond atcampbell@cncfilmfactory.com.au
In 1978 Frederick Valentich disappeared over Bass Straight whilst flying a Cessna Aircraft and reporting to air traffic control that he was being buzzed by a UFO. This incident has haunted author/investigator George Simpson for 45 years. Born in 1958 the same year Frederick was born. George believes he saw the plane just prior to its disappearance. He has now released his recollections and research in a book entitled Nothing on Radar which is now available from Amazon. Jay Katz and Aspasia conduct a lively conversation with George which includes some rare insights that were not mentioned in the book.
Jay Katz and Aspasia take a look at some of the most fascinating news reports from 2022 and take a deep dive into popular culture and its relationship with the world of the Anomalous. A happy New Year to all and remember to all ways laugh in the face of adversity.
Today's guest is Australian director Brendan Young who was approached in the mid 90's by Oracle Pictures and Alex Proyas to create a pilot episode for a documentary series called Conspiracy. Jay Katz was employed as the head researcher and would send the crew to Los Vegas to record the first Australian interview with supposed whistle blower Bob Lazar. We go behind the scenes of this film shoot to hear a myriad of stories on such identities as John Lear, Bruce De Plamer, George Knapp, Bob Lazar and many more.
Jay Katz and Aspasia are independent researchers with over three decades of active investigation in the field. They first met as therapists working extensively with the disabled and mentally ill. They have always fervently refused to have a hypothesis and believe science should be brought to bare in terms of research into the world of the anomaly. They both have extensive connections with researchers in the Southern Hemisphere on which many will appear in future podcasts.

No jazz cigarettes for these two. Dave Graney & Clare Moore are an exemplary couple. Two of Australias most profound/extraordinary musicians & performers that have travelled and traversed many bands and many lands. The Moodists, the White Buffaloes, the Coral Snakes & the Dave Graney show are just a few of the incantations you will at least find Dave appearing in. Today, going under the title of The Lurid Yellow Mist inspired directly from the Jack Arnold film “The Incredible Shrinking Man” Dave & Clare form an unstoppable duo that takes music and its lyricism and arrangements to the levels thought unachievable. Like Serge Gainsbourg, Lee Hazlewood & Roy Orbison with the satirical sting of possibly Kim Fowley at his best moments, they make pop music sound like an opera. There love for each other is evident in their creativity, and you will find them at some of the most obscure locations this country can offer to perform. Literally standing head and shoulders above the rest and erring on the side of humility, they remain the perfect example of magical creativity can be. Always supportive of the underdog and we guess that is why they have ended up on the Naked World podcast. Having performed with some of the greatest names in the musical arena internationally as well as local, they still find time for Jay Katz & Miss Death. Dave is not a just a raconteur, performer and screen star but also an incredibly incisive author, who has bared his soul in print. Their humour and generosity is evident in all they do, and with over 40 albums between the two of them in the bag, their output is relentless We hope you enjoy this candid casual conversation as much as we did and possibly pick up a few tips on how to survive a pandemic with masterful ease. Even though their retro tv viewing is questionable, their hearts are not. A big warm thank you to Dave & Clare for your constant inspiration and laughs Much Love Katz & Death
Jay Katz & Miss Death sat down with one of the most prolific exploitation directors of all time: William Grefe - broadcasting from Florida at the age of 90. If there were rules to filmmaking, one director would break them all! From the 1960's to the 1990's, writer/director William Grefé was grinding out exploitation films for drive-ins and hardtops across the globe. As a Miami-based regional filmmaker, he utilised the darkest corners of the Florida Everglades as his personal studio backlot. Killer sharks and human jellyfish and living mummies, oh my! Arrow Video is proud to present the first ever collection of works by William “Wild Bill” Grefé, the maverick filmmaker who braved the deep, dark depths of the Florida everglades to deliver some of the most outrageous exploitation fare ever to go-go dance its way across drive-in screens. Bringing together seven of Grefé's most outlandish features, all new to Blu-ray, He Came from the Swamp: The William Grefé Collection packs in a macabre menagerie of demented jellyfish men (Sting of Death), zombified witch doctors (Death Curse of Tartu), homicidal hippies (The Hooked Generation) and seductive matrons (The Naked Zoo) – not to mention the ubiquitous go-go dancing college kids – to create one of the most wildly entertaining box-sets of all time!
What an honour, a privilege and a pleasure to meet our cultural hero with his extraordinary partner in crime for the first time live on “Naked World” our visual pandemic podcast. It been many decades now that Miss Death and I have been more than aware of the incredible creative power of V. Vale (Vale Hamanaka) through his extensive documentation of underground and outsider culture. Writer, publisher, musician, historian and culture jammer whose seminal publications “Search and Destroy” and “Research” altered the course of counter cultural history. We sat down recently (during lockdown) to zoom into the home of Marian Wallace and Valhalla Vale for this candid and grass roots discussion on all that is Research and their life together. Marian is so natural and relaxed that she is perpetually in and out of the frame as she goes about her daily lockdown activities with Vale by her side. He on the other hand is entirely focused on the interview. If fringe culture does not have a champion to promote its cause, then history will remain oblivious of its nuances and even its existence. Most times the ground breakers can only break the ground. That's where Vale stepped in, recognising early in the piece that revolutionary movements in the arts deserved legitimate acknowledgement and documentation. His zines and books certainly did just that. The “Industrial Culture Handbook” gave academic respect to the avant garde genre of music deemed Industrial and “Modern Primitives” may have been single handily been responsible for the ubiquitous modern-day popularity of the tattoo. The power of these publications is double barrelled in their effect, they not only captured underground culture of the time but also altered it, sometimes considerably. He is a true media assassin graced with a meticulous eye for detail and stylism. Vale's extensive publications will be referenced long into the future with an enduring sense of awe. Eclectic in his approach, Incredibly Strange Films, Incredibly Strange Music, Freaks, Zines, J.G.Ballard, Swing and Pranks are just a few areas of his Research in publicised form. Much thanks yet again to Penelope Courtney for making this grand moment happen and big respect /love to Marian and Vale for their wonderful hospitality. We cannot thank our subscribers enough for assisting us in manifesting the dreams of our Archive into reality, all of you have played an important part. Let us hope that you enjoy this interview as much as we did and that there are many more to come. Much love and respect Jay Katz.
Jay Katz & Miss Death sit down with Holly Payne She is a filmmaker, writer, improviser, producer, traveler, thrifter, sometimes stylist, podcaster, activist and bionic woman. She produced the crowd funded documentary "The Death Of Superman Lives: What Happened?" with her maverick partner - the late great Jon Schnepp The Death of Superman Lives; What Happened? delves into one of Hollywood's most enthralling 'what could have been' stories. In 1996, Warner Brothers engaged Kevin Smith to write the screenplay ('Superman Lives'). Director Tim Burton assembled an elite group of artists to work on Superman Lives, including Nicolas Cage as Superman. Warner Brothers scrapped the project shortly before principal photography began The film received praise from critics. Chris Stuckmann (film critic) wrote: This well-researched documentary provides a fun and intriguing answer to one of cinemas strangest questions: What if Nicolas Cage had portrayed Superman?
If you haven't heard of Australia's sickest and twisted film festival, TRASHARAMA…you don't know Dick! Dick Dale is more than just a festival director though, he's a champion of international genre cinema, raconteur and legendary shorts filmmaker (PELICAN BOY, CREAMY LOVE, FAMILY BIZNESS) and now he's making the leap to feature film with RIBSPREADER! Andrew has had an extraordinary career delving deep into the counter culture - he managed the iconic video store Trash Video in Brisbane for 15 years, went travelling across the globe to find out what happened to superstar James Bond himself ‘Weng Weng' which launched an incredible documentary about his journey and now Andrew is currently running an awesome Kickstarter for his latest project title PUB - A Fredumentary. Jay Katz and Miss death sit down with one of Australia's finest & most underrated filmmakers/raconteurs Haydn Keenan Haydn has made some of the most unique and original motion pictures ever produced in Australia. For the last 50 years he has managed the production house Smart Street Films Formed by Haydn and Esben Storm In 1982 Haydn directed the counter culture gem Going Down - A searing vision of a Sydney rarely seen by tourists but one that is just below the surface. A cult hit, this film has been described by Phillip Adams as one of the ten best films made in the country. It is the story of four young women on the town the night before one of the group goes to New York. Their adolescence, their group and their future is breaking up in an exuberant gesture of defiance. In 1987 Haydn directed the most bat shit crazy and insanely bonkers film ever made in Australia - which is now virtually lost - PANDEMONIUM - is a riotous satirical comedy in which many of the sacred cows of Australian society are slaughtered. It tells the story of a quintessential Hollywood innocent and her search for parents who abandoned her to her fate many years before at Ayer's Rock. Her search takes her to a disused film studio at Bondi Beach where she discovers a bizarre netherworld populated by redundant social myths. In 2014 Haydn found himself taking on ASIO with the remarkable 4 part series Persons Of Interest In each episode of this Award winning series a Person Of Interest is given their previously secret ASIO intelligence file, and asked to respond to the allegations it contains. The four Persons Of Interest are Roger Milliss, Michael Hyde, Gary Foley and Frank Hardy. For forty years the Australian Intelligence & Security Organistion (ASIO) hunted spies and subversives. In the process it opened files on students, unionists, Aboriginal activists, and writers and as many as half a million other citizens. Persons Of Interest shows how things really happened in this dirty war against dissent. Using actual files, recently discovered secret surveillance film and photographs, these films are the personal stories of lives under the microscope of Government surveillance. In light of the Snowden, NSA scandal and with ASIO possessing more power than ever - Persons Of Interest is a timely addition to the debate. Haydn has incredible insight into Australia's film industry past and present. He is a deeply kind and amazing human being whom we love hanging out with. Enjoy this show. Haydn's catalogue is available to purchase from his website Support this incredible artist and purchase a copy of one of his movies - we can guarantee you will not find them anywhere else - they are actual mind blowing artefacts especially PANDEMONIUM Check out the Street Smart Films Vimeo for over 200 videos - an absolute wondrous archive full of great entertainment. It was during his third year at High school he began fiddling with DJ equipment. Soup learnt about the dazzling new music form hip-hop and began developing production skills on crude sampling equipment in luxurious 8bit, his computer had an amazing 2 megabytes of memory. He began digging for samples and was mostly enthralled by Rhythm and Blues, Soul, early electronic music and spoken word records. Soup has recently signed to the reformed Creative Vibes which is now under the umbrella of MGM Groove Merchants. Look out for a new album early in 2010. Soup has remixed Aria nominated Watussi as well as Cookin On 3 Burners, both of which are on the amazing Knowfoowl label. Soup has DJed in many clubs around Australia including a long residency at Tonic and Blue hotel and the legendary Sounds of Seduction with Jay Katz from the Mu Meson Archives. Check him out currently at The Marble Bar, Miss Peaches, Tokyo Sing Song, Palmer & Co, The Bank Upstairs, The Civic Hotel, Cafe Lounge and The Lansdowne Hotel. His sets are always eclectic but the common thread is soul. His first love is Rhythm and Blues but don’t be surprised to hear lots of different styles of music mixed and blended into his sets. Founding the Fonke Knomaads, Soup became producer, DJ and part time MC for the left field Sydney Hip-hop pioneers. They released a 5 track E.P. called "The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of..." on the now defunct label PoBoy records .Soup moved on to sign with influential Australian record label Creative Vibes . He soon released the groundbreaking Trip-Hop Album "Souperloops". Soup coined the term sampology and his tracks began popping up on several international compilations as well as having an album of the week on JJJ. This was the first local hip hop release to be given such an honour. The album was influential to local bands such as The Resin Dogs and Fretless. Further releases include collaborations with Fat Pizza star Sleek the Elite, the mini album "Eclectro" and the feature length album "From Anuva Planet" featuring Swollen Members and Gift of Gab from Blacalicious . Soup's last release was "Beatroot-The Edible Root of the Beat" which is out on Invada records. A label run by members of Katalyst and Portishead. It is an album true to form with a variety of hip-hop and twisted electronic styles to keep those kids jumping. In this episode we talk Sydney cinema. We are joined by Kate Jinx from the Golden Age Cinema & Bar; artist and filmmaker Kate Blackmore discusses her latest project The Glass Bedroom presented on ABC iview; and we about the Queer Screen - Mardi Gras Film Festival with filmmaker Jules Herrmann and the President of Queer Screen, Lisa Rose. Tracks by Jay Katz and Miss Death aka Jaimie and Aspasia Leonarder from the Mu Meson Archives.
When we were putting this project together, Jaimie and Aspasia Leonarder aka Jay Katz and Miss Death were two people who immediately sprang to mind. For anyone with an interest in DIY culture, these two are like the spiritual gurus of DIY.They have dedicated their lives to sharing their passion for the fringes of forgotten culture and the people who live within those fringes. Together they have worked as diversional therapists for the elderly and disabled, hosted the legendary club night “Sounds of Seduction” opened their home to the public and created the Mu Meson Archive and hosted one of FBi’s most infamous programs “The Naked City”. We discussed a bunch of topics including why creating an inclusive space is important, why the “bottom line” is corroding culture, why fringe culture creates the front line, how underground culture feeds overground culture and why providing spaces for teenagers to be creative in is a necessity.
