We're getting old, so the only kind of exciting rave we're interested in on a weekday is Arcade Archives Rave Racer from Bandai Namco, by way of Hamster Corp - a game previously trapped in the arcades of the 90s, re-released for home consoles. Then we talk about another throwback, this time to a kind of genre that was massively popular a few years ago, that is getting a new spin: the flip and draw Flip Pick Towers from Osprey, Rob Fisher, Adam Porter, and Beatrix Papp. We round out the show with an unbelievably hot new boardgame called Eternal Decks from Hiroken and Mujunsha, which is a co-op experience with limited (but not zero) communication. All that, and revisiting the tuna bus, on Ep243. 00:00 - Things on lamp posts 07:57 - Arcade Archives Rave Racer 29:27 - Eternal Decks 45:50 - Flip Pick Towers On this episode were Peter (@XeroXeroXero) and Sam (@MrSamTurner). Our Spotify Playlist brings together lots of great thematic music inspired by the stuff we talk about, our Steam Curator page collects every video game we've ever reviewed available on the platform, and our BoardGameGeek page does the same for every boardgame. And if you'd like to see what we're up to between podcasts, your best bet is our Instagram page. In the kingdom of Pilipalod, a wild, evil magic had erased the royal castle, leaving only the foundations visible. Queen Blodwen, King Llew, and Princess Dillie surveyed the empty hill where their home once was with some despair, but mostly patient resolve. Word of the disaster spread, and soon magical creatures gathered to offer their help, and the finest designers of the Magical Architect Alliance arrived, promising that a new home would rise again. Their first task was to rebuild the Flip Pick Towers by Rob Fisher and Adam Porter from Osprey Games with art by Beatrix Papp.Read the full review here: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2026/03/14/flip-pick-towers-saturday-review/Useful LinksFlip Pick Towers: https://www.ospreypublishing.com/uk/flip-pick-towers-9781472869883/Rulebook: https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/317970/flip-pick-towers-rulebookOsprey Games: https://www.ospreypublishing.com/uk/osprey-games/BGG listing: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/453283/flip-pick-towersSomething-and-Write game reviews: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/tag/roll-and-write-games/MusicIntro Music: Bomber (Sting) by Riot (https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/)Music: Alone at homeProduced by Sascha EndeLink: https://ende.app/en/song/152-alone-at-homeMusic: 5. Text us your thoughts about this episode or ideas for future episodes! We've got another classic edition of the Long Run Archives on deck, but it's been a minute. We've been fully immersed in all things Barkley Marathons, working hard to bring a few key projects to the finish line. Two big shoutouts here:First, The Finisher, a long-form documentary about Jasmin Paris' three-year journey to become the first female finisher at the Barkley. Huge credit and gratitude to Jules Campanelli, Drew Darby, and Rob Fisher, who worked tirelessly to bring this piece to life. We wrapped it up in great form last week.Second, we turned around a 2025 Barkley recap vlog to get a window in this year's event as quickly as possible. That's now live on the Singletrack YouTube channel, thanks to the excellent work of my friend and colleague, Roo Smith.Anyways, in this edition of the Long Run Archives, Brett and I chat all things Big Alta, Chianti, Barkley, and Crown King before closing with the best stuff we found on the internet this week.
