Jaime Aymerich is an actor, VO actor, and Producer. His TV credits include Golden Globes nominated 'Weeds', Primetime Emmy nominated 'Workaholics', and Amazon Prime's hit Emmy-nominated series 'Bosch'. Born and raised in Mexico City, Jaime is a graduate of the Academy of Dramatic Arts (Mexico). Jaime's acting skills and personal dynamics were evident since childhood. On a day off from school, he took off without thinking and visited Televisa San Angel, Mexico largest TV station, and asked for a job as an actor, which he got straight away. He went on to receive several television roles in the early 1990s and made a name for himself. He then pursued his acting career in theatre, earning many awards from the Dramatic Arts Center in Mexico. On stage, he starred in plays like “ The Inkman”, "The End”, "I Want to Live”, and many others. Jaime further developed his acting career in sketch-comedy theatre in Mexico, receiving more awards from the Comedians' House. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career and soon landed roles both in film and television. Jaime's first critically praised television performance was of his portrayal of a young Mexican Character "Daniel" in an American Soap Opera Acapulco Bay, a Televisa-Fox production. Jaime made his film debut in A Beautiful Secret sharing the screen with Golden Globe and Academy Award winner Katy Jurado. This film earned 11 awards in several international festivals, marking a new level of success for Mexican cinematography. For the next few years, his work would range from Showtime series Fat Actress with Kirstie Alley to portraying a Mexican President in the action drama The Last Ship by Michael Bay. Some of his TV credits include East Los High and Prime Time Glick with Martin Short. He recently shot How to Be a Latin Lover with Salma Hayek, Eugenio Derbez and Raquel Welsh. Widely known within the Latin community, he stars in many Telenovelas and movies like Love Again, Stories of the Virgin Mary, Loco love, The Call, How to break up with your Douchbag and the Towns Poet for Univision. Jaime is in the number one show of NBC / Telemundo - "Betty in New York" where he portraits the role of Charlie. He performed as Jorge in "The Laundromat" directed by the Oscar winner Steven Soderberg; where he acts with Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman and Antonio Banderas. He portrayed the character of "Satan" in the series "The Daughter of God" written by successful writer Enrique Torres. Is it hard to feel empathy when one is three sheets to the wind, and if so, what could change that? Is the film about something else than being smashed? Los funerales de la Mamá Grande es una colección de ocho cuentos del escritor colombiano Gabriel García Márquez. La primera edición de este libro data de 1962, cuando fue publicada por la Universidad Veracruzana de Xalapa (México). Los cuentos fueron escritos entre 1959 y 1962 en Colombia, Venezuela y México. Los cuentos que forman parte de esta obra son: La siesta del martes, Un día de estos, En este pueblo no hay ladrones, La prodigiosa tarde de Baltazar, La viuda de Montiel, Un día después del sábado, Rosas artificiales y Los funerales de la Mamá Grande. Si bien se trata de relatos independientes entre sí, tienen algunos rasgos en común. Varios de ellos tienen explícitamente como escenario el pueblo de Macondo, el resto no lo explicita pero hay rasgos que permiten deducir que también ocurren allí. Algunos personajes se reiteran en distintos cuentos. Hay muchos vínculos entre algunos relatos y Cien años de soledad (obra cumbre de García Márquez); además de la ubicación espacial, se nombran algunos personajes de dicha novela, como el coronel Aureliano Buendía y su hermano José Arcadio. En este pueblo no hay ladrones fue llevada al cine por Alberto Isaac en 1965. Participaron de la película (en papeles menores) los escritores Juan Rulfo, Carlos Monsiváis, María Luisa Ortega Suarez, Abel Quezada y el propio García Márquez, además de otras figuras culturales de la talla de Luis Buñuel, Leonora Carrington, José Luis Cuevas, entre otros. La viuda de Montiel sirvió como base para la película homónima mexicana de 1979, dirigida por Miguel Littín, con actuaciones de Geraldine Chaplin, Nelson Villagra, Katy Jurado, Alejandro Parodi y Ernesto Gómez Cruz, entre otros. High Noon is a 1952 American Western film produced by Stanley Kramer from a screenplay by Carl Foreman, directed by Fred Zinnemann, and starring Gary Cooper. The plot, depicted in real time, centers on a town marshal who is torn between his sense of duty and his love for his new bride and who must face a gang of killers alone. Though mired in controversy with political overtones at the time of its release, the film was nominated for seven Academy Awards and won four (Actor, Editing, Music-Score, and Music-Song)[3] as well as four Golden Globe Awards (Actor, Supporting Actress, Score, and Cinematography-Black and White).[4] The award-winning score was written by Russian-born composer Dimitri Tiomkin. Podcast: 22 February 2018 Stories are the master teachers. If we pay attention, we can learn a lot from them. One of the good stories comes from the 1952 western High Noon, a favorite of several US Presidents. In High Noon everybody’s sweating. It’s Judgment Day. We think judgment day is something for another life, but in fact, judgment day comes all the time. And when it comes, you’re exposed and you’re naked. You’re seen for who you really are. In High Noon Judgment day arrives in the form of deranged outlaw Frank Miller. The town Marshall, Will Kane and some deputies arrested Miller a few years back and the judge sentenced him to hang. But he was released up North and now he’s coming back—due on the train at High Noon. What’s Frank Miller come to judge? The town. Society. In particular the men. Are there any men? And are there any women who will demand a correct version of manhood. Will Kane is the man. When he’s married to his pacifist Quaker wife at the beginning of the movie, it’s not “husband and wife,” but “man and wife.” Kane has agreed to hang up his star and move away for a more tranquil domestic life, but that’s because Miller was taken care of. When news reaches the town that he’s coming back, his friends rush him out of the town and say to get going on his new life, and not to worry about Miller. But Kane is a man. And he knows something about his friends back at the town. They say they’ll face up to it. But they won’t face up to it, and Kane knows it. There’s a problem that needs to be confronted, and nobody else is going to do it, and so he’ll do it. He’s a man. So Kane returns. And people aren’t happy he’s returned. Nobody is. Especially his wife. Amy Kane: "Don't try to be a hero, you don't have to be a hero, not for me!" Will Kane: "I'm not trying to be a hero, if you think I like this you're crazy!" With Kane out of the picture, there was the hope that judgment day could be avoided, and many even preferred Miller to Kane. A man like Kane forces the issue. And many people don’t feel comfortable around him. Kane’s task should be easy. Miller only has three men with him. Kane only needs a dozen men out of hundreds of males in the town to help him. The rest of the movie shows what happens in real time as he sets off to round them up. If you haven’t seen this movie. I don’t want to ruin it for you. I’ve left you most of the movie to see what happens next. But I do want to say something about two of the characters. Kane’s deputy is Harv Pell, played by a young Lloyd Bridges. Of everyone, Harv has a duty to help Kane. But he’s bitter and resentful. When it was learned that Kane was moving away, Harv wanted his job as Marshall, but the town council passed him up for someone else, and Harv thinks Kane didn’t speak up for him. Watch Harv in this movie. He’s important. Kane is his idol. His ideal. But he’s not Will Kane. And it’s very interesting to see how he acts when he’s reminded of it, again and again. Helen Ramirez to Harv Pell: “I’m going to tell you something about you and your friend Kane. You’re a good looking boy. You have big, broad shoulders, but he is a man. It takes more than big broad shoulders to make a man, Harvey, and you have a long way to go." That’s Helen Ramirez played by Katy Jurado, who delivers perhaps the best performance of the movie. She’s a woman who has experience with the world. You can tell that her life has been filled with both mistakes and successes, and she’s learned something from them. And what she’s learned is the value of correct manhood. She knows the difference between false manhood and the real thing, and she knows the value of the real thing. She thinks the man is going to die. And she knows a lot rides on that. Ramirez: “You want to know why I’m leaving? Then listen. Kane will be a dead man in half an hour, and nobody’s going to do anything about it. And when he dies,

High Noon is a film that has been analyzed to death in every way conceivable. It tells a straight-forward story of a man who stands up against overwhelming odds to keep his sense of duty intact and to “do the right thing.” It stars Gary Cooper, Thomas Mitchell, Lloyd Bridges, Katy Jurado and Grace Kelly in her first major film role. Fred Zinnemann directed the film. It won four Academy Awards with “Best Actor” going to Gary Cooper. Do yourself a favor and watch “High Noon” just don’t do any internet research before hand. You’ll lose an hour or more reading about the movie which will not add to the enjoyment of the film (in my experience.)
Mr. and Mrs. North received the first Best Radio Drama Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America (in a tie with CBS's Ellery Queen). Also in 1946, producer-director Fred Coe brought the Owen Davis play to television (on New York City's WNBT) with John McQuade and Maxine Stewart in the leads and Don Haggerty, Joan Marlowe and Millard Mitchell repeating their Broadway roles. Barbara Britton and Richard Denning starred in the TV adaptation seen on CBS from 1952 to 1953 and on NBC in 1954. The series was unusual in that it was Mrs North who solved the cases while Mr North was just background most times. Guest appearances on this series included Raymond Burr, Hans Conried, Mara Corday, Carolyn Jones, Katy Jurado, Jimmy Lydon, Julia Meade, William Schallert and Gloria Talbott. Sixteen episodes of the TV series have been released in the "Best of TV Detectives" box set. Mr. and Mrs. North were resurrected in spirit with ABC's Hart to Hart, the 1979-84 crime drama about a wealthy husband (Robert Wagner) and wife (Stefanie Powers) who spent as much time solving murders as romancing each other and pursuing careers as an industrialist and a journalist, played the crime theme with wry wit reminiscent of the Norths in their heyday.
